Spiders Shadows is awesome. Loved the review. They should put this symbiont in another metaverse, and have a longer running series.

Peter: If you kill a murderer, the number of killers in the world remains the same.
Symbiote: ... So kill two. 🍷🗿
Or a dozen.
*Or a hundred*
Fucking batman sht ideology
Punisher: 😏😏😏
Peter: oh yeah, that's smart.
So kill them all so theirs only one 🥸
Writers are so weird with Spiderman. There are all these stories where Peter resists evil and in the end suffers tremendously. Then there are the stories where Peter kills his enemies, and he usually gets a way happier ending.
Yeah because it’s a vicious cycle and at least he got have half of them off the street
its showing the struggle with life, yea he has a happier ending but he did disgusting things and hates himself for what he did
if he resisted evil he lives a harder life but with a clean conscious
'The road to Hell is paved with good intentions'.
Granted, it largely seems to depend on just how much the writer in question actually understands about how the law works...
Basically, if the dude TRULY thinks Peter would still walk after all 'this'... _theeen,_ it's probably a fairly safe bet he never went to law school!
@@PeteTheGrouch Ahh come on, don't be A grouch.
It's insane how J. Jonah is that influential that he can easily recruit villains to fight spiderman.

J. Jonah is basically like Wolf Blitzer or Tucker Carlson of the Marvel universe. As long as people are willing to eat trash news, he is willing to sell them served in a silver platter.
4:42 "Dammit Peter, why it have to be you"
JJ really isn't the villain some of us think he is. He really cared about Peter even after the guy had broke his hand and almost killed him.
And I always think of him the Rupert Murdock or Tucker Carlson of the Marvel universe because he really hated him so much that he really wanted him to go to prison with no due process or no fair trial and even the MCU version was betting on him to drop the soap and never cared about it
JJ is an asshole. The writer just wrote his character differently here.

Oh nooooo... Peter killed a few serial mass murderers. What a monster!
Part of Peter’s humanity is his tremendous restraint, and ability to relate to his villains to an extent no matter how depraved.
Quite a few of them, like Gargan and Hobgoblin, got what was coming to them, but others weren’t even mass murderers; more or less B-list villains trying to earn a quick buck. Shocker, for example- he’s never killed anyone; maybe the most he’s done is severe property damage and some injuries, but it tops there. Mysterio? Just some trickster, a robber who scammed people.
Rhino most likely killed a few people inadvertently in a few rampages he had, but a lot of stories as of late shed light on his own humanity- especially concerning his wife and mother. A little simple-minded, hot-headed, but he doesn’t go out of his way to hurt people who don’t bother him.
The issue here was that Spidey did not discriminate whatsoever. If anyone, even as stupid and silly as Stilt Man popped up, they were dead meat.
@Pastamist they still did bad stuff tho but yes it isn't good to kill the small robbers
@@Pastamist Sounds like criminal apologist tbh. Thankfully, this is fiction. Because people are the exact opposite in rl.
@@bimates2690 You might have a point; I’m not justifying their motives, background is no excuse for actions, but some actions don’t deserve death, you know?
I got a handful of examples irl where people should’ve gotten heavier consequences for particular actions. A comic is a comic though, but a moral debate is better than a political one lol
@@bimates2690 So, what you're arguing is that every criminal deserves death. Could I introduce you to this manga series called Death Note? The protagonist has similar principles.
It is crazy how much the symbiote loves Peter in each universe. In a recent Venom it was revealed that Spider-Man was born to be the King in Black, but "life happens." so he isn't.

Probably because his spider powers people don’t realize how strong he is in comics where he fights the avenger’s he either beats them up or get hurt a little from running because he doesn’t want to hurt them he’s stronger then cap not to mention his speed the suit probably thinks he’s the strongest host on earth also spider sense is broken strong
If you ain’t Thor of have Gama level strength don’t fight him and even if you have gama lvl strength like she hulk and red hulk don’t fight him as he has comparable strength and is just faster than most gama characters
Kingin in the middle: *gets his head blasted into smithereens*
Kingpin at the end: *no dont worry guys it only took a few hours to recover*
Yeah I guess think he should have stayed dead and replace the ending with ether Dr Doom,Red Skull,Baron Zemo,Mr Sinister or the Leader from the Incredible Hulk as they heard about the report about the aliens or maybe the return of Norman Osborn
Most likely he knew that his end was near and managed to get his hands on some sort of temporary super serum but still thought it was not enough with the results, so he willingly took the beating while under it's power up while also having a medical team on a secret room next to his as a one last resort to save himself when spider leaves the place, if they ever wanted to explain how he survived.
Kingpin is a Baki character
@@kaiky_3821 You mean he's butt ugly? True enough...
@@srstriker6420 YES for sure!!
The ending be like: Somehow, Kingpin returned.
So the emperor has returned
the dark side of the spiderman has many abilities that some would consider to be...MARVELous
Yeah when I read the comic and it revealed that it did not make any sense to me since Peter in that Universe would not spare any Villain he faces. So when he punched Kingpin it def should have killed him.
@@iammask1073 yeah because he is supposed to be a normal man but I think they should have replaced that scene for ether Dr Doom, Red Skull, Baron Zemo,Mr Sinister, the Leader from the Incredible Hulk or the return of Norman Osborn
"The Dark Side of the Pin grants access to many abilities that some would consider to be a Marvel." and then he Kingpins all over the place
To be fair
Spider-Man doesn't need symbiote to be "too much" for his villains
Only the biggest change with venom is that he holds back less or stops holding back entirely.
EDIT: People please learn to read. I did NOT say symbiote doesn't change ANYTHING ELSE BUT making him hold back less. I said that it's the "biggest change", NOT the only one.
As such the fact remains that Spider-Menace doesn't need symbiote to be the absolute bane of his villains.
even when peter stops holding back he still subconsciously holds back. one of the only times we see peters true power is when doc ock takes over peters body and punches scorpions jaw completely off
Exactly, that's what people don't understand.
If Peter didn't hold back, he'd make Punisher look like a joke.
With the simbiote suit he's so absurdly strong and fast he could take on every single villain on his entire cast jump on him and still win, meanwhile on his own he could win against every single one of them alone or in small groups but not to the point he could win such a fight against all of them.
the symbiote amplifies peters powers. it doesn’t just make him stop holding back.
Most evident when Superior Spiderman (Doc Ock mindswapped spiderman) punches the Scorpions jaw straight off in front of Aunt May.
Wait, so Spiderman gave Goblin a final warning. Goblin then proceeds to ambush him at his family's home by blowing it up. Spiderman is "fully evil" now for killing him? Sounds like he saved alot of innocent people and protrcted himself to me.
Its more like the way he went about it. They know hobo goblin was killed in a sadistic way. Its not like he did it instantly.
@@gtvn2775 And Peter was using the Black Suit. Considering it was already trying to get Peter under its control, any snap would be sufficient for it to succeed, which is what happened.
Cause he broke Jonah’s arms
it's *how* he did it, and the fact he didn't stop there with the killing.
Criminal: *Stomps on a baby*
Peter: *Steps on a rock*
Criminal: We're the same you and i
Peter: *sweats profusely*
I don't like the whole "killing a killer is fair" argument but this honestly had me on the floor. XD
Yeah the argument is lame but that joke was just perfect
If you read it in the goblin voice it's funnier
@@drakegrandx5914 It depends on the villain.
Villains like Joker should die. One time, he kidnapped, tortured, dismembered and murdered an entire kindergarten class.
And then heroes like Batman have the audacity to say that an antihero would be just like the Joker if they kill him.
I would tell him to fuck off. Even the law would kill him depending on the state.
As much as I love this story it still bothers me how in all these years of spiderman and Venom existing, no one has ever made an actual comic where spiderman actually bonds with the symbiote, it seems the "What if's" the symbiote won usually always end with peter, the simbiote or both dead.
Sometimes I think they are afraid that it would be "too awesome" if Peter had a successful relationship with a symbiote and bonded with one. A lot of fans (myself probably included) wouldn't want Pete to ever lose the alien if he suddenly got one and started doing all sorts of awesome things with it. There's probably the dumb fear that Spider-man would be "overpowered" if such a thing were to occur too.
One what if, Peter and Co were stranded in another universe. Peter merges willingly with the Symbiote and isn't evil - just weird. It involves the Avengers kids returning to their main universe to save it
@@richardshiflett5181wait what’s the story?
@@Goldenbanethat is a reason but problem not very solved when peter lift a plain like cardboard witouth symbiote
We can see comics where venom takes peter to “joy rides” he doing what peyer does and peter was sleeping that times and dont know about venom so venom also know holding back maybe little aggresive but able understand the reason behind holding back the power
We technically have that story with Spider-Gwen
After she lost her Spider Powers the symbiote became her permanent source of power.
Ironically though, the symbiote doesn't quite give him extra power - maybe extra durability. He's fully capable of killing his villains without the suit. He constantly has to hold back to avoid doing that.
The symbiote does give him extra power, the first fight with the suit was Rhino who he managed to easily lift by the horn whe he was one of the few villains he had a hard time to brute force his way, but well it was still a 16-17 years old spidey at that time and way earlier than some of his best feats of strenght.
@@euqinemor My point is that he can easily kill all of his villains without the symbiote's help. It's shown in Spider-Man Back in Black and in What If? Spider-Man Vs. Wolverine Vol 1 1
@@euqinemor Peak spiderman has literally dead stopped Rhino post symbiote and one shot him.
The Symbiote suit gives Peter a substantial boost, but one that isn't necessarily important. The one thing the symbiote suit can truly be a game changer in is very dire situations.
The symbiote makes him stronger and more durable, but he could already kill most of the villains in his rogue gallery anyway
This comic goes to show how much Peter is holding back against the villains with how easily and effortlessly he was able to dispatch them
But would you feel safe with an entity that can knock the face off of Rhino (the Insomniac Studios one)
A Spider-Man that kills is quite frankly terrifying. He could come from anywhere and and you'd be dead before you knew it.
Especially when you remember that with the Venom symbiote, he gains: Tendrils, nearly unlimited webbing, invisibility, all-around vision, increased strength, extra weapons (claws and teeth), shape-shifting, the ability to survive underwater and in outer space, vastly increased durability and invulnerability, and poison (last I heard, unless it's been retconned, Venom's drool is poisonous)!
Yeah, there is a version of him that did that. Spider-Assassin. He killed his entire rogue's gallery and moved onto other team's galleries. His world was 'boring' for him because he legit killed off HALF the villains of the entire planet in under 10 years. The other half were in hiding. It isn't until he left the planet/universe he was in that they came out of hiding again. Then he returns, sees villains around again, smirks...and gets back to work killing them again.
I want a nega-Spider-man
Like the reverse flash?
But make it horror movie type of stuff
"Shocker!!! I'll chase you to the ends of the Earth!"
Frankenstein?
>he isn't that strong
My guy literally lifted a 140-ton plane on his back like it was made of cardboard and held a 120-ton train over his head like a folded laundry, he is way strong.
Spiderman is very strong and that's why he pulls his punches. Most strong heroes do.
I think at that point was alluding to the fact that Johnny and Peter switched places to trick the Symbiote. Johnny doesn't have the strength that Peter does, so when pretending to be Peter, he seemed "weak"
Kinda dumb, considering most of his 'average' strength feats top out at around 10 tons... _buuut,_ hey - comics.
Don't forget he punched someone jaw clean off when doc took over peter mind
@@dontaskwhybutiliketocook597 That was really dumb. The guy in question was The Scorpion. Unless there's been some sort of really stupid retcon, Scorpion has always been on Spidey's level. He's not a "normal guy in a robot suit" he's a super-powered individual who wears a suit that grants him an extra robotic limb (A tail). If Spider-man punched Scorpion as hard as he could...it'd be like a normal guy punching another normal guy as hard as he could, because they're both roughly the same super strength and endurance-wise.. It wouldn't rip his jaw off!
To be honest.
I'm glad he killed those villians.
No mercy.
Maybe Shocker was a step too far but Scorpio did have it coming

there are a lot of villains that rely on the heroes not killing them after kicking their asses
Hey, plot armour goes both ways.
Yes, once a hero gets sick of the bullshit it’s over lol
Batman and supes
Sam raimis spiderman was more detailed in this yeah dc little bit weird
But in raimi spider man villians basicly people peter would call them father or best friend harry and norman this people being villian makes very sad in peter position he cant just kill them even if he dont had a no kill code because of this people can be fixed or their get better atleast point they accept the change
Yeah the only Superhero I can think of who has a rogue's gallery where a large portion of the villains could legitimately murder the hero even when they aren't holding back is Wonder Woman.
And that's because a lot of her villains are either literal gods or are powerful and or skilled enough to solo the Justice League, oftentimes both.

Cool. Is there a universe were Peter has a balanced relationship with the symbiote? That would make sense if Eddie could do it.
Eddie is a hateful person, their relationship works based on the fact that Eddie doesn't care about morality and only wants to kill those who he hates
Not that I know of. The closest I've ever seen is the normal universe where Spider-man takes on the Venom Symbiote again to take down the Red Goblin. I'd love to read a story where Spider-man gets his own symbiote and has a happy and successful relationship with it.
@@Goldenbane indeed, it would make his life easier and balanced in his social/scholar life maybe. I think he would live longer.

What the hell? Care to elaborate that?
Honestly, the symbiote was probably the greatest hero in the Marvel universe. Killed the crazy supervillains who were murdering Peter's loved ones while talking through the situation with Peter, recognized that Peter hadn't rejected it when they were separated and kept trying to help him save everyone by giving everyone awesome symbiote powers, and put an end to the villainy of Reed Richards once and for all.
It even offered to give him back his old color scheme if he felt like it. It was too good for this sinful earth.

As for Shocker, despite his status as a C tier villain, that's actually a carefully constructed facade he himself created in order to avoid attracting the attention of hero groups like the Avengers, and scarier villains like Dr. Doom or Hydra.
Shocker in the early days was one of Peter's most consistently challenging enemies, he always adapted his strategies to counter whatever Peter used to beat him last time, and in more modern stories Shocker has taken on entire crime families by himself through the raw power of his suit and analytical mind.
Man, can we talk about how amazing the webs are in this comic? Fenomenal art
I remember reading this comic last year and by the time I didn't notice this, but damn, Marvel should invest more in these separate stories and not just make them single events. Revisiting classic moments in the Marvel Universe and changing some details is such a nice ideia for separate arcs that aren't connected to a bigger plot or something else. Maybe putting everything through canon is just mining the creativity of writers, and most importantly, the patience of the readers at this point, and stories like these are just what we need.
I've always wanted a symbiote like Venom.
Peter isnt more powerful, he's just more unrestrained and agressive
No he is definitely more powerful, the Black Suit enhances his powers on top of lowering his inhibitions.
It’s entirely version dependent. The original arcs didn’t change his powers. Modern ones though do have the symbiot enhance him. It’s part of the reason that Peter has been able to pull the “leave you current host and come back to me” fake out trick multiple times. The symbiot is addicted to Peter because of his powers.
