    Good video. I was wondering why the bitrate on my v2 goggles usually always stayed at 50.8 and my goggles 2 bit rate was all over the place. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my goggles 2. Then I got a second set and they were the same. I wonder why the v2's seem like a more stable link?

    Interesting findings. I think they can be explained by the direction of the antennas, at least in part. On the g2 they are facing in slightly different directions.

      I am absolutely no expert, and I am completely throwing something out there but what if as the v2 goggles recording has been done in the winter, the temperature of the o3 was less easily cooled down during spring and warmer weather?

    • @MrCoffis
      @MrCoffis Год назад

      @@timotheeferreol I don’t think the O3 is temperature limited but it’s possible. And now that you mentioned it colder air also increases the range.

      yeah i know... i have an o3 here... but only on a small 5 inch. i cant go that far with it xD. but the range with the o3 is overall a bit better what i can say!

    Nice comparison. The TrueRC antennas work great for directional coverage, but it would be interesting to see the signal strength if you the aircraft moves at a wider angle laterally or around the pilot instead of a straight line in front

    • @rrdrone90
      @rrdrone90  Год назад +9

      The trueRC are patch antennas. That means they are pointing just in one direction. If you look away, or fly behind you, they dont work good. They are long rang antennas. And in lomg range most if the times you have a target spot in one direction. For that they work great.

    • @rrdrone90

      Thats because i dont use the DJI RC Controller! I use a TBS Tango2. If you use the DJI RC than the control link would be displayed.

    Was this test done with the air unit, vista, or 03 air unit?

    • @RRGaming-Live

      the test is made with an "air unit" with the dual antennas.

    Hey there!
    Just wanted to drop a quick question - I'm rocking the Commandos on the 915 MHz band, and my eyes caught the Goggles 2 antenna strutting its stuff at 5-7 GHz.
    Now, I'm not exactly a long-range guru yet, so I gotta ask: is this frequency mashup gonna vibe well together?
    I'm all ears for any wisdom you can drop on a rookie like me. Much appreciated!

    From everything I read, the O3 and Goggles 2 use linear antennas. Why would you use circular?

    • @rrdrone90
      @rrdrone90  Год назад +1

      i dont use an O3 in this comparison... that are "old" Air units. And i use LHCP Antennas on all my quads. (I have O3 Quads as well and use them with LHCP Antennas). The circular antennas for me give better penatrations. Than the Stock linear antennas.

  • @prone1548
    @prone1548 Год назад

    Hi, first, thank you so much for the comparison. I wanted to ask, since i am getting the TrueRC X2 antennas, for an balanced experience (powerful directional range, and circular (omni directional range), can I mount both antennas on the top and have the stubs at the bottom?

    • @rrdrone90
      @rrdrone90  Год назад

      youare you talking about the old V2 Goggles? In theory yes, you could do that. But if you have only 1x True X air X2 than i think its best if you mount it, like i did in the picture. Because the wire is too short, to mount both on top.

    • @prone1548
      @prone1548 Год назад

      @@rrdrone90 yeap, talking about the V2 goggles. Thanks. Also can i use the default DJI antennas or do i need to get stubs

    • @rrdrone90
      @rrdrone90  Год назад +2

      @@prone1548 you can use the original dji antennas. But stubs or 2x the true x air would be better.
      Because the original antennas are dual band (for the dji fpv drone). The Air units only use 5.8ghz. So 5.8ghz antennas would always be better than dual band.
