I really love the deployment. Brings another tactic to the table that I like. Am not sure if I am a fan of the steel but not a deal breaker. Overall I would buy.
I am left handed and this knife feels like it was made for me. Very easy to open and close one handed. This is the only knife I have that feels like it was made for a lefty. The picket clip is better than I thought it would be. Very easy to put in, and carries nice and deep.
lefty here as well and im a bit hesitant about this knife, how well does the feel of left hand deploy feel to you. do you feel like it could possible stab on deployment seeing how the blade is palm side?
@@daryl9633 I have not had any issues with that. I suppose it depends on how big your hands are. I wear a L/XL glove and the blade doesn't come close to stabbing me.
Nice review. I would not choose this as a first knife, but a more than one, I might have to have one as a cool item. Very innovative deployment method.
Logic Exactly. You can get D2 in a quality blade for half the price give it take on finish and quality. But anything D2 tends to be at least well made if not exceptionally.
I wish I didn't end up buying this, I have a Benchmade 940 as well and compared to this it in my opinion is not nearly as good as the 940 for everyday tasks. I know that they are different knives with different purposes but I just prefer the 940, for a lot less money, someone can get a much cheaper karambit and I don't see the point in a karambit that folds the way this one does, the karambit was meant mostly for self defense while the 940 was meant for other tasks, it can still be used for self defense but will not deliver anywhere near the lethality of the 940 (I'm not saying the karambit is a bad knife) but the 940 is overall in my opinion a knife you will use more than this karambit.
Thanks for video Zack . I love karambit knifes . This one is going to be my first expensive karambit . Waiting for this one , hopefully this coming Monday.
Yes, it weight and construction makes it first an impact weapon for me, and the very intuitive and instant opening of the knife makes transforming it into a knife super easy; if the blade for some reason (in some highly unlikely and absolutely unavoidable situation) has to be introduced in a play
Cool knife. I like that it does not close in the traditional manner that risks cutting fingers. $200 isn't that bad. It does seem like the fit price would be around $160 considering materials + typical CRKT prices, but $200 isn't too bad. Regardless of how "mall ninja" is looks, the folding method is very interesting. I would pick on up (let's face it...i will get one eventually) if I got bored one day. For $200, I would rather pick up another bugout with aftermarket scales and some lunch. Thanks for the video review.
This is a great solution for defensive carry. The fixed blade laws where I am in Virginia are extremely vague and the law enforcement I’ve talked to advise to stay away from concealing anything fixed. (Which I think is insane because I have a CHP to conceal a firearm, but I’m not supposed to carry a knife.) This is the solution I’ve been looking for.
Whoa those knife laws are wild! Yeah this is a good addition to your self defense carry. Glad it will work for you and let me know how you like it once you grab one!
@@couchwarrior2449 Yes they do, and my problem with their folding karambit is it is too big. The purpose of a karambit is to be small and easily concealable. That is why I have a Fox 599 karambit with carbon fiber and titanium as my folder when a fix blade is not an option.
I also have a fixed blade Karambit made by SOG and a palm sized fixed blade karambit style called the Talon, also by SOG. Don't carry them on the street though. Illegal...
I've been playing with this thing for a while now, and I can say for certainty, it's far better than any "simple" folding blade. It's got two pinning points making it sturdy like a fixed blade. 1 extra moving part doesn't hurt anything when it's done right and improves things.
