20th Anniversary Show (Live at Wacken 2019)
For the greater part of the Wacken concert, we commandeered the festival’s two main stages, the side-by-side-and-connected Faster and Harder Stages, becoming the first artist in Wacken’s 30-year history to utilize both stages simultaneously in this way. During this show we were joined by the Great War choir, a bunch of previous Sabaton members as well as the internationally acclaimed GRAMMY-nominated virtuoso cellist Tina Guo for the encore.

For Prague’s “The Great Show” we reunited with Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers, Apocalyptica, who provided a fiery orchestral backing to several of our songs!

Any music sounds better live
Sabaton always plays 2 semitones down when playing live, compared to their studio releases. (The reason behind this is still unknown to me.) So it might just be that singing lower suits his vocals better or just that the pitched down version of the song sounds "better" overall. But those are simply my thoughts.
@@JordyZijlmans I think it is just easier for Joakim to sing lower for a 2 hour concert instead of singing in the original tone

I remember that Thursday, I went home and my father looked at me like he has seen a ghost and asked: wait, you're not at Wacken again? I said I couldn't afford this time. So he gave me money. I started driving till almost Hamburg that night, last bit the other day, went through the village in search of a ticket, at some point got one, went in, getting the badge and just some 5mins in time to see The New Roses. Holy shit that moment of relief and happiness, boy did I cried. I didn't saw sabaton that Wacken, but I'll surely remember that 7th time in a row that I was at the holy ground. And the fucking last time for years to cum with our BS governments.

Dad and I are both fascinated by military history (why go to a crowded beach when there's usually a tank museum or a war museum we can visit was always our mantra on family holidays) Dad raised me on rock and metal, sabaton combine the two...now if only dad could sing! Must be where I get it from :)
In my family it spans 3 generations. My mum (63), myself (30) and my sons (9 & 4). Such an epic band
