- In our exclusive clip, team RWBY, Oscar, and Qrow meet the "bodyguards" assigned to aid them on their journey transporting the Relic of Knowledge safely to Atlas. There's countless miles of Grimm-covered countryside between the city of Mistral and the northern coastline of Anima. Fortunately, the Argus Limited can easily make the journey... so long as nothing goes wrong. RWBY Volume 6 premieres October 27, 2018 on Rooster Teeth.

No, but she can have an explosive burst of speed and strength from electricity. It can look like teleporting when you can't track the movement.

Blazing Kite rooster teeth has said that Jaune's semblance is aura amplification, he can refill peoples aura and enhance there semblance's. He does this is the first episode of season 6

Before that piece of horrible writing was introduced, I had assumed his semblance was combustion. Drinking as much alcohol as people claim Qrow drinks should put him out of commission unless it's going somewhere other than his liver. It's not like he could swing that buster sword like a rapier without some kind of booster and his semblance being the ability to process flammable liquids like fuel made (and still makes, in my opinion) a lot more sense than what is clearly the self-pity of someone who hasn't gotten treatment for PTSD and lingering childhood/family issues.
@@LtDavidB312 I quite like his semblance but aside from that, semblances aren't affected by what you eat. They just are. Drinking a lot wouldn't help him create explosions anymore than eating a hamburger would help Yang punch harder. Plus like, Nora wields a giant hammer that doubles as a grenade launcher, Ruby has a scythe that's also a sniper rifle that's also a bolt-action rifle, and Yang once punched a mech's arm off so Qrow can absolutely wield a bustier sword one-handed if he wants to.
@@ButterflyScarlet I wasn't saying that the hypothetical semblance was a product of what he was drinking, but rather what he was powering with what he was drinking. Nora has the excuse: her electricity-overcharged muscles. Ruby has an excuse: altering the speed of the scythe as she swings it (with the added benefit of the scythe and Ruby, when she moves, maintaining momentum without continued use of the semblance). Yang has an excuse: her muscles using absorbed kinetic energy. In point of fact, even Pyrrha had an excuse before she got fragged: using her semblance to control the ferromagnetic accessories she wore, giving herself the appearance of running faster and farther and fighting with greater strength and grace than her peers.
My point is that Qrow's semblance being what I suggest rather that what the writers claim would provide a reasonable, in-universe explanation for both his movement in and out of combat as well as his drinking habit (which leaves him curiously coherent for a drunkard) without taking anything away from the character.
@@LtDavidB312 Nora isn't getting zapped every time she fights yet she stills swings that warhammer around like a baseball bat. Ruby can move fast, that wouldn't help her wield a scythe better if she couldn't already lift it. Which she can.
Qrow is a seasoned hunter, presumably in his 30s, definitely stronger and far more skilled than any of the kids. In this magical universe where people can conjure clones and mystical elemental powder exists and a 14 year old girl dragged a gigantic bird vertically up a cliff......a man being proficient with a heavy sword is too out there?
Qrow's semblance makes him an unwitting inconvenience to those around him. He has to wonder whether any bad things that happen are just a coincidence or his fault, so he stays away when he can. Considering his profession, not only would he be more alert than the average person even while inebriated, it's possible to build up a tolerance to alcohol.
I love Ruby and Yang making fun of them and just doing sister things ❤

He can amplify the amount of bad luck with his aura. So he can't really cause grand scale destruction without ampliifying his semblance.

When i said writing, i wasnt really referring to the script lines as you already mentioned. I was more referring to the world building and overall story arcs/continuity stuff.

I don't know what's cooler: Ruby's Speed Shopping clip like from the trailer, a surprise for Yang, Ren's relaxation fantasy, or Oscar's sass with a hint of wisdom from Ozpin. :D Still, I can't wait for Volume 6!
It’s hilarious when you think about it. The trailer was basically hyping up that moment, like there was this intense, high pressure situation that was looking to end badly if the group wasn’t up to task.
And then we get this sneak peek and see that Ruby’s just being her usual adorkable self.
I believe what Oscar meant was: “I’m glad that, if we fail, they’ll die with the rest of us.”

Still, you have to give Master Qrow some points in that video.
His bad luck affects those around him. It guarantees his enemies will make mistakes beyond their control that will give him the upper hand. And as a master swordsman/shotgun combatant, he's very dangerous. The only downside is that it doesn't turn off outside of combat and his allies are affected as much as his enemies. That's why he prefers to be alone.

For anyone who finds this video and suddenly remembers the whole Ruby buying a gift thing. The answer is friendship bracelets. It was supposed to be used against the Apathy at the farm. They cut it because they ran out of time. The commentary from Kerry hinted that they might have brought it back at a later date. But the plot moved too far along for it to make sense. So now it's just something they dropped.

To be fair the only assessment we got on Rubys semblance pre volume 4 was a one off sentence from Pyrrha who at this time barely knew Ruby so its possible she just misjudged what her semblance was

I really love the fact that they haven't changed. Yang is still Yang, who even with her amazing character development over the volumes, remains the sister that Ruby knows even before the whole thing went south.
