It really sounds so much better here. She actually sounds somewhat like an actual 15 year old girl here and not like an adult trying too hard to be super cute.

Not so strong, no. The graphisms got better but the writing did not. I loved in the first chapters how characters were defined by their weapons, not their semblance. It's kinda sad.

It gets better: if you play them back-to-back, it's clear that the opening narration and the narration during the Season 3 finale are two halves of the same conversation.
Eh the metal was good but the vocals made me want to shoot someone. If whoever produced that is an actual artist or was specifically made for this I'd probably just look for a cover of it with different vocals. All in all I'm just more into Led Zeppelin and rock so ehhhhhh

Just watched the season 3 finale... Coming back to this, the first two minutes of this foreshadowed the ending soooo much. Wouldn't be surprised if season 4 starts off with the exact same monologue. Just goes to show how much they've planned the series as a whole
It's like Steven Universe - Show started out with a kid thinking that his powers were activated by ice cream to a kid now dealing with space tyrants, the weight of his mother's crimes and mistakes, while also battling crippling anxiety and existential dread. You know. For kids.
It's similar to the Harry Potter series. It went from our main characters going to Hogwarts as students to learn magic, to stopping Voldemort from conquering the world. They even have the stereotypical hero's journey characters. Main character: Ruby Rose / Harry Potter Main character has a hidden power that they need to unlock: Silver eyes / Harry's connection and horcrux with Voldemort Powerful artifacts: 4 Relics / Deathly Hallows Legends and stories that were founded on actual real events long in the past. Friends: Both have friends in their same group, and friends from other groups The wise old wizard, principal of the school, with his own secrets: Ozpin / Dumbledore The uncle figure: Qrow / Hagrid The super OP villain, with dark connections to the wise old wizard in the past: Salem / Voldemort Followers of the villain, who are themselves mini-bosses: Salem's followers / Deatheaters
Actually, the opening narration is composed of Salem mocking mankind and their futile resistance ("you may prepare your guardians but you will find no victory"), and Ozpin pining his hopes on the purity and honesty of humanity (meaning Ruby and the other Beacon students). But yes, it's interesting when you rewatch it.

Just watched the season 3 finale... Coming back to this, the first two minutes of this foreshadowed the ending soooo much. Wouldn't be surprised if season 4 starts off with the exact same monologue. Just goes to show how much they've planned the series as a whole

Well, RWBY lost its pacing. I honestly felt like that was too quick.
It's similar to the Harry Potter series. It went from our main characters going to Hogwarts as students to learn magic, to stopping Voldemort from conquering the world. They even have the stereotypical hero's journey characters.
Main character: Ruby Rose / Harry Potter
Main character has a hidden power that they need to unlock: Silver eyes / Harry's connection and horcrux with Voldemort
Powerful artifacts: 4 Relics / Deathly Hallows
Legends and stories that were founded on actual real events long in the past.

But yes, it's interesting when you rewatch it.
Technically, you would have to fast forward to the end of Volume 3 to get it, since that's when she makes her first physical appearance
