Capaldi's era has some ups and downs but so worth sticking with!

Totally understandable but also soooo glad you've not given up with do your who reactions completely. I really an intrigued to see Deppa's reactions to this era of doctor who and then eventually the regeneration into doctor 13!!

The 12th doctor has landed! The way you both spontaneously starting holding your breath along with the episode was hilarious XD
it's almost instinctively, I do that too when characters are underwater for example, it's our primate brain mimicking survival tactics
This intro was first made by a fan, and then the BBC hired him to do an improved official version of it and had Murray Gold compose a new version of the track for it.
This is my mother's absolute favorite episode. She's a fanatic for Capaldi
I loved Capaldi as the Doctor. Would have loved to hear him get all sweary like his character Malcolm Tucker in the tv show The Thick of It🤣🤣

and coming up this season: "what's that under your bed?"
The droids harvesting spare parts is very similar to a David Tennant episode called 'The Girl in the Fireplace'. The droids in this episode are from the sister ship of the droids in David's episode.
As I understand it - this wasn't intended to be the last time we would see the Paternoster's, because at the time of Deep Breath, a spin-off featuring them was being mooted.
I love "Paradise Lady" so much as well she's certainly one of my favourites 💜
You two are both just so British (same as me, just it’s a nice break from the American ones) and so funny and so real! Like it’s so natural The friendship, so great to see! 12 & Clara are my fave duo so I hope Deepa finds their relationship evolution interesting!!

i was 14 when i got into Dr Who, this was my very first episode i watched and i got warmed into his doctor instantely. Capaldi is my doctor and will always be my favourite doctor, i would rate it 4.5/5 just because 11th doctor appearance kind of takes. When i very first watched it, I just assumed jenny,vastra and strax were the doctor's weird friends. (i had already heard the some of the simple stuff like the tardis. screwdriver etc.. from small talk during school.)
SO SO SO glad we got to the 12th Doctor. And yes, the mysterious woman is also my favourite. Adore her.
I wasn't completely sold on Capaldi by this episode, but the newspaper scene was the first time I had genuinely laughed at Doctor Who (outside of the 50th anniversary) for a long time, so that caused me to be optimistic. Unlike a lot of fans, I really enjoyed series 8, and had fallen in love with Capaldi's Doctor by episode 4.
It's amazing how much more I like the second half of this episode more than the first lol
This is an episode that grows on you with repeat viewing because first time around there is far too much going on to take in all the details. Capaldi, already good, will get very much better.
That whole episode I thought you were sat funny Luke. The I realised it's not your knee, it's the top of the microphone, lol

For what it's worth, there are a quartet of Vastra, Jenny, and Strax audiodramas from Big Finish, with another 4 on their way.
I'm glad Deepa liked it. 12 becomes my Doctor next episode.

Next episode when I watched for the first time I was like this is the doctor. It felt like a middle series episode just because how natural the dynamic was. By now 12 is right at home and they know who they r...... almost 😂

I always find it sad that people stop after 'their' Doctor leaves. I have so many favourites and can't think of an era I'd completely skip.
It's just personal preference though I suppose.

It took me a while to get used to 12 as more shouty angry doctor but on repeat watches I love him more

Capaldi is still my favourite doctor to this day. Don't get me wrong, Tennant brought the doctor its popularity and done an amazing job with the character, Smith continued to portray a great doctor with a twist from Tennants.
Capaldi took the doctor in a different direction that was grittier and had a darker in deptg tone to the character, while still maintaining his alienesque sense where he didn't understand some of humanitys actions.
He should have been given at least one more season, and I would love to see him cameo for a couple of specials.
Can anyone please help me find the reaction where it ends with the zoom in on Deepa that they were referencing? I've definitely seen it but cannot for the life of me remember which episode it was. It's my favourite outro to any reaction 😂

I didn’t care for Capaldi at first but he ended up as my favorite
I wonder if the first three episodes leaking so early deflated the sails a bit. I watched those and still liked the premiere. But after a packed 2013 for who, it was a really tough follow up to be sure

Its a great episode and its a nice start to a new Doctor as Capaldi is my favourite to the whole of NuWho Doctors i think Matt Smiths cameo in this episode was unnessary in my opinion because it slightly overshadows the New Doctors performace and its basically a message to the fangirls saying The Doctor is not young and hot anymore they didnt need to do that.
On the contrary, the way most of the fanbase was acting when this episode aired, I think it was exactly what a lot of people needed at the time.

I wanted to love Capaldi when he arrived but really found his personality difficult to connect with in season 8. However he became one of my favourite Doctors. Capaldi is such an amazing actor.
Series 9 and 10 is where his acting really shines. This season has its moments, but nowhere near in the way the following two do.

How hot is it there? Oh, my, it's 105 here today in Southern California. Yikes! Love Doctor Who.....Has the power to cool us down.
This will be without air conditioning though with wet heat, high humidity and homes designed to trap in all the hot air
It took me a very long time to warm up to Capaldi as the Doctor, but now he’s my second favorite. Seems to take longer and longer for each subsequent actor to “gel” as the doctor.

Capaldi took a while to grow on me, but I ended up loving his Doctor as I continued watching his era. I'm just not a big fan of Series 8 though.
Yas... Missy is also one of my faves, along with River. Would love to see the two of them together... chaos!
My interest in doctor who certainly diminished as series 8 wore on but I did enjoy this episode though, love the Paternoster gang!

Good Reactions but you let me down Deepa. When it's a New Doctor's First Story you should pay attention to it. Unfortunately you look away and started talking when important things were happening or being said. I wonder what will happen when we go to a big abandoned Mansion and go Ghost Hunting.
