This is my analysis for Iron Maiden BY Busting for dave's rig: Fender Dave Murray HHH Stratocaster, It's £815 so it may not be SUPER expensive but it is expensive, Victory V100 cos he uses that, Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, an MXR Chorus and a Reverb pedal for Adrian: not only does he have the signature Jackson SDX but he also has used a Jackson V, an Ibanez Destroyer and a Gibson SG from time to time so in that case, get the expensive £2000 version of the Jackson SDX Adrian Smith signature, a Marshall JCM800 and that should have you sorted
Went back and listened to the original video and the tone is leaps and bounds better in this video so good on you, guys! Plus...PLUS, you played OBLIVION!!! YAY!!!
I think this is the most spot on Sounds like yet. When Bea said ima just grab this guitar here.... I was like oh no.... here we go again. then he said Kraken... and I face palmed.... I was wrong. Keep up the good work! Love the show. and also coheed.
Butterslax. I just like saying that word. Butterslax Butterslax Butterslax. And the tone sounds better than that! Epic, for both of you. Bea's got some serious mojo going on there, and Matt's solid as a brick. One of the best Sounds Like ever.
As soon as he says “Victory” I stop the videos now. I won’t even watch past the point where he first says the word, anymore. He’s lost credibility to me.
I mean, any strat strung with super thick strings, a Dual Showman and matching 215 cab, with a spring reverb unit and that's *the* sound. His rig wasn't very complex.
They are all shitty guitar players, it's like they don't even have ears. I'm not sure how much prep time they get or even need but I learned most of these riffs in less than 5 mins a piece. The intro/verse riff for steambreather is not even close. Idk how they get paid to do this for a living.
The truth is they don't play these riffs right and not just on this vid. Maybe not shitty guitarists but they should definitely spend some more time on preparing for these vids. These are not complicated melodies really...
Jonny uses a telecaster with lace sensor pickups and a killswitch button, if you want the killswitch get a squier tele deluxe, for amps he uses Vox for cleans and Fender for the gainier stuff, so Bassbreaker by Fender will be the one! he uses a crap ton of pedals too so i've pinpointed some stuff Squier Tele Deluxe - £355 Fender Bassbreaker 15 - £517 Strymon Mobius - £426 (it has a lot of fx including phaser, filter and more which could come in handy for the paranoid android solos) Digtech Whammy V - £170 grand total - £1468
For Ed O'brien i'm not so sure, he has used a Johnny Marr Jaguar by Fender as well as a Stratocaster, but the Johnny Marr Jaguar is not only someone else's sig but it's £1700+ so i don't really know
The fender Jonny uses for his gain sound is actually much cheaper than bassbreaker because it's a solid state amp they used to make called a Fender 85. Having gigged with one multiple times I can assure you with a rat in front it's radiohead all the way.

Easy, USA Jacksons with JB pickups through Marshall half stacks.
it ain't that easy .. Dave was using the CAE S3+ preamp with VHT power amp back in the day ..

I fully agree with Coheed. They have the skills to cover some of the more complex stuff as needed and I think they'd both really enjoy covering them.
Tom Bruce I feel like Coheed would be tough. They have such different sounds even on the same album (like "the crowing" vs "blood red summer").

for dave's rig: Fender Dave Murray HHH Stratocaster, It's £815 so it may not be SUPER expensive but it is expensive, Victory V100 cos he uses that, Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, an MXR Chorus and a Reverb pedal
for Adrian: not only does he have the signature Jackson SDX but he also has used a Jackson V, an Ibanez Destroyer and a Gibson SG from time to time so in that case, get the expensive £2000 version of the Jackson SDX Adrian Smith signature, a Marshall JCM800 and that should have you sorted
Kevin Tracz I've been asking for Tremonti. if they did alter bridge it would be even better
Yes Alter Bridge would be the best but the most important thing is the two amp set up for Mark. The bogner and the mesa.
Kevin Tracz They could go old school and use the twin reverb too

I mean, any strat strung with super thick strings, a Dual Showman and matching 215 cab, with a spring reverb unit and that's *the* sound. His rig wasn't very complex.
This. Is. Amazing. Not just is it a perfect mastodon imitation, it is also an extremely versatile and gigable sound
Sound like Evh/sambora please!!
You really nailed it this time, good job guys! High Road kicked in and I was blown away, I was like THATS IT!
You played Blood and Thunder in the wrong tuning again...
it's Drop D but they did it Drop C
***** It's D Standard and they're doing It in drop C
They are all shitty guitar players, it's like they don't even have ears. I'm not sure how much prep time they get or even need but I learned most of these riffs in less than 5 mins a piece. The intro/verse riff for steambreather is not even close. Idk how they get paid to do this for a living.
Art and let’s see your video of it then.
The truth is they don't play these riffs right and not just on this vid. Maybe not shitty guitarists but they should definitely spend some more time on preparing for these vids. These are not complicated melodies really...
This is the best tone I've heard you guys get. F-ing brutal!!! Great job!
Failed no nut November all within the space of 10:07 - 10:27

William Allison either or though I might actually prefer Rainbow
I always love these videos, but this is the best one yet. Rabea's improv solo on Jaguar god was immense!
Sounds like Tool BY busting the bank!
Mastodon are absolute riff masters.
Killer rigs. That butterslax is a monster!
Sound like Dream Theater by Busting the Bank!
Possibly your best success. Dead on. Great job, guys!
Sound like dream theater/ john petrucci please!
I wouldn't mistake you guys for Mastodon but the tone was there. You are both great players in your own right.
Sounds like Allman Brothers Band
Best sounding 'Sounds Like' so far. So so so close. Blood & Thunder intro with the Oxblood was perfect.
Do Priest for fuck sake. Glenn used an ESP as well.
DEFINITELY spot on sounds like Mastodon

SOUND LIKE MEGADETH
Omg the end with the Jaguar God solo! Amazing! Keep it up lads!!!
Please do sounds like Radiohead
Jonny uses a telecaster with lace sensor pickups and a killswitch button, if you want the killswitch get a squier tele deluxe, for amps he uses Vox for cleans and Fender for the gainier stuff, so Bassbreaker by Fender will be the one! he uses a crap ton of pedals too so i've pinpointed some stuff
Squier Tele Deluxe - £355
Fender Bassbreaker 15 - £517
Strymon Mobius - £426 (it has a lot of fx including phaser, filter and more which could come in handy for the paranoid android solos)
Digtech Whammy V - £170
grand total - £1468
For Ed O'brien i'm not so sure, he has used a Johnny Marr Jaguar by Fender as well as a Stratocaster, but the Johnny Marr Jaguar is not only someone else's sig but it's £1700+ so i don't really know
I don't that they can fit a dying cow in the video room.
The fender Jonny uses for his gain sound is actually much cheaper than bassbreaker because it's a solid state amp they used to make called a Fender 85.
Having gigged with one multiple times I can assure you with a rat in front it's radiohead all the way.
thanks this is actually helping me!
damn man...that impro solo was just amazing...could easily be the mastodon solo! great entertaiment guys, thanks!
