It doesn't look or sound like they made many changes at all in the Drag Pro. Considering the trouble your friend had last year I still wouldn't buy one.
@@lowercherty well a lot happens in a year it takes a couple days to make some better and stronger. Hopefully they could make a better back drag boss plow.
Stan, way to go again my man. I appreciate your honesty when speaking with the manufacturers, and truly admire you giving them kudos when they deserve it. You call it fair anytime you review a “big boy toy”. You embody the spirit of the hard working men and women who are dedicated to serving their client base and use these tools to accomplish that job. You are a role model to all young contractors and service people.
I just mounted attachment for a backblade with a winch to lift it up and weight will allow for down motion. Running it for over 10 yrs with very little problem on 1/2 mile drive.
I've run backblades for years in Michigan and love them, only thing is that I've been pulled over by the State DOT and local police for the rear license plate being obstructed from the back blade. I talked myself out of a ticket a few times. Keep up the great work Stan.
Yeah, when the Boss employee said "some customers were breaking more shear pins than they would like".... I was pretty damn sure he saw that video, haha! And likely, getting a lot of irritated phone calls from lots of other operators, too. Good for you Boss, listening and making measurable improvements. Hopefully the problems on that lighter-duty model will be a thing of the past.
Very interesting. Thanks for making another video on it. Living up here in Montana we probably won’t see one at our dealers until next season. You went super quickly over the connection and disconnection of the plow. Would love to see the connection points a little better on just the plow without the 5th wheel part. Was hard to see how they changed the mounting on the plow or if it was identical. Also would love to see how and where the pins are connecting compared to the original sno power. (The main pins that connect the plow to the 5th wheel frame) a view from the back side showing it would be awesome to see the differences in design. Great video 👍 always love seeing you guys giving your personal no BS opinion and always a trustworthy source with the years behind you and time and abuse you guys put your equipment through.

Stan what would be cool with back drag pusher plows is if the center section could hydraulically angle left or right so that you could windrow either in reverse or forward one instance curb edges or long driveways
Looks all good with new shiny paint but how it really works will be in the battles ahead this winter. The wing cylinders seemed too low to me, but I could be wrong. Ice has a way of really packing in sometimes.
Those small unit's are perfect for Apartment Complexes where you do have a lot of sidewalks in between them for "dog" walks which go around ponds and such.
I like the unit... Just have a question.. What about the exposed hydraulic lines and fittings on the cylinders? I would have to imagine that they would break off from the force from the pressure of snow hiring them.. For sure the wet heavy snow..
They should add a sensor/switch which illuminates a light (or possibly existing turn signal indicators) when either of the wings is not in the fully folded / box plow configuration as a warning If they are extended while driving down the road. It would also be cool to add some LED whip antennas similar to those used on sand rails so that the cutting edge would be extremely visible in your mirrors. I'd also add a camera mounted above the power unit enclosure so you can see how close you are getting to an object when backing up to it. And if made to swivel, it could also be useful in aligning the fifth rail when attaching.
YES! Exactly. Boss watched that video and revamped their design! They saw what happened and listened to their customers and made VAST improvements. I Love that they did!
