It's in Fortnite, Rocket League, Genshin Impact, and a bunch of other games, but why not DBD? Will we ever get it? We'll take a look at why that is alongside cross progression's rocky Playstation start.

I probably would if I had another platform to play on. If there ever comes cross progression, I might consider getting an XBOX so I can play DBD and Sea of Thieves from bed… but I think it would be a terrible idea, I’d never get up 🤣🤣
We need crossprogression because it is cheaper to by things on PC
been grinding a new account on playstation for a couple weeks and would be extremely happy if i could transfer my progress from xbox. even if that was just my perks and levels.

DBD code is so much pasta that the only cross-progression we are getting is the shared bugs.
Don’t forget platform exclusive bugs tho! My friend plays on Switch and sometimes he cannot be healed or recover when in the dying state, do skill checks (wiggling and on hook), mend deep wound, be healed… it’s so frustrating for him but there seems to be no end in sight either.

im literally in the same boat as you. i was really disappointed when i downloaded the game with gamepass and found out that there was no cross progression
same here, i bought dbd again on steam recently, but all my stuff are in ps4, no way i am starting all over

Let’s be honest Sony is pretty scummy with their practices, Nintendo is desperate for crossplay, Xbox is leading the charge for gaming unity and Sony is the one trying to keep things in the 90s

You all are falling for Phil Spencers xbox is the good guys image. Sony wanted crossplay and progression first but when 360 leading the market, they laughed them off.
They started pushing the good guy image when they were down in sales.

Why don't we just get crossplay on only the consoles that are willing. Wouldn't that make the other companies hurt and give them a reason to join?
You would think so, there really must be some behind the scenes reason why they can't get a deal with the other consoles

@@alejandroruiz8434 I'm just like lee in this regard. Started DBD on console years ago and was looking in to getting back in to it now I have a nice pc. But I don't have the grind in me to get characters, perks, killers, items and so on. Let alone all the special event content I had alongside me. Sucks that one company can cause such a rift. Sony just always been a thorn in the sides of other companies and their player base for this kind of thing.
Current switch players who are waiting day and night for cross progression are the strongest warriors in my eyes. Imagine having a console from 2017, playing at sub-30fps, and STILL participating in events for the exclusive cosmetics, BP, shards, etc. just hoping they can one day transfer their progress onto a different system one day. I commend you and pray for you guys.
But current Switch players will soon get relief when the Switch 2 comes out most likely later this year and if it has most likely backwards compatible then all will be good. Because the Switch 2 will most likely be a very big upgrade compared to the original Switch.
I wanna get back into the game, but with the switch version that I started with having so many issues, I'd much rather keep playing on my steam deck. I don't wanna buy all the killers and add-ons I previously purchased again, but even playing the tutorial segments on the steam deck, the performance is night and day. To keep playing this game, I NEED cross progression. There's hardly an incentive otherwise for me. = [

I bought DBD on Nintendo Switch. Originally, I only got the game because my girlfriend wanted me to play with her. At the time, I didn't care which platform I was going to play it on, because I thought the only times I was actually gonna play it was when she wanted to. If I had known I was going to get so into DBD as I am now, I would've started the game on a different platform. I'm quite literally stuck on Switch unless cross progression comes to DBD. Otherwise I'm gonna have to re-buy everything all over again and start from the very beginning on a platform that actually runs this game properly.
Same boat I’m in. I repurchased many things on Xbox but it also feels like I’m throwing money away, even if I was refunded the auric cells-which they won’t do.
I had to wreck my wallet again once I got a PC, no way I was gonna play at 10 fps on the Switch anymore lol

If you buy the Switch 2
(release most likely later this year) and it has most likely full backwards compatibility you could find a solution because the Switch 2 will most likely be a very big upgrade compared to the original Switch. This could be a path for you. You just have to hold out a little longer until the new console comes out :)
@@lionelherhacker I'm honestly hoping I would be able to do this. I don't mind playing on switch, it's just the graphics, fps and ping that really sets me off at times. If the switch 2 is more powerful and actually runs the game properly, I'd be more than happy to play on there rather than PC, Xbox or PS.
It is exactly what is happening to me now. My sister bought me a series x for Christmas but all my dbd account was built in PS4. So now I have to start all over and buy these killers again.

I'm at the point where I'm willing to re-buy all the DLC on Steam if I can just carry over all my unlock progression and skins from Xbox. DBD is the only game I play on my Xbox now, because I have too much time and money invested in that account for it to be worth switching to PC. I don't want to start over with 0 perks and I dont want the money I spent on character skins to be wasted on an account I never play again.
I partially blame this on BHVR, because I don't see what's stopping them from activating cross progression for Xbox and Switch. Microsoft and Nintendo have been the most open console companies when it comes to cross-progression. If BHVR worked out a deal with them, ut would put pressure on Sony to do the same because all the PS4/5 players would start aiming their hostility towards Sony. It sucks for PS players that their company is so anti-consumer, but it shouldn't impact those of us who decided to buy from the more pro-consumer companies.
Its weird to blame Microsoft and Sony because there are so many games that have cross progression. Hell even RainbowSix has cross progression and they are owned by greedy Ubisoft.

Me personally I am desperate for cross progression since I've had so many hours put into the game on my xbox but have been wanting it on pc for a very long time now, I wish I had participated in that survey as I would mostly want cross progression for my actual progression and not any dlc I have bought since rebuying everything is easier than grinding thousands of hours and losing many limited time cosmetics alongside the need to regrind the entirety of all the perks for killers and survivors.
I started dbd on Xbox in January 2021 and switched to Ps5 in December 2022 and within those years of playing I bought so many cosmetics, characters and got bloody cosmetics and teachables for about so many survivors and killers but recently I got into dbd on ps5 and already rebought every character but leveling them all back up is such a chore, so if dbd dose what they say in the satisfaction survey I would be more than happy because that would be a small price to pay to get cross progression.❤️

Whatever deal or idea they have in mind for cross progression ATM, I really hope they're able to change it to make it the full cross progression we're all familiar with (keeping the dlcs as well instead of re-buying them).
I understand where they're coming from, and hell, props to BHVR for (maybe) attempting to do this again despite it being kind of a hard thing to do in the industry as seen with fortnite.
Personally, I find the idea of buying all the dlcs you once had again when you cross platforms as bs imo even though I completely understand why they'd probably be at this point.
Here's hoping by some miracle a deal is stuck between all parties involved that allows normal cross play to happen 🤞🏽

I had the game for free on ps plus at the time, i grinded a bit( nothing crazy) but got able to get decisive strike from the shrine (was a big deal at the time and still is) and actually had some stuff like the perks, not to talk about the characters like the hag, which i had the perks teachable already on console and now on pc i don´t even have them...
I downloaded the game on epic a few years ago for free as well, now with some friends randomly started playin again and been loving the game since, even considering buying some stuff (this part is a bit of a disapointment), if only i had back the stuff i had on console it would be so much greater, especially decisive strike man, i think 5 bucks for a caracter is just way too much
The only benefit to connecting on that page is I have my stuff from that Halloween Twitch stream on PC and Playstation.
This is legitimately not bhvrs fault for once which is nice, but its so frustrating that the big companies cant collab like this

After hearing about the players desires about adding cross progression, we decided to nerf the pig.
I remember that they mentioned it years ago and just left the idea to rot somewhere. It’s not like it’s impossible as multiple studios have proven that crosssave is possible with PlayStation. I’m no game dev and i have no idea what Sonys game is in all of this but still, it leaves me to wonder if crosssave is even a priority of behavior.
i used to play this game on xbox, i had around 700 hours and p100 survivor, im willing to buy dlcs again but grinding to p100 is just pain and i feel like i wasted my 700 hours worth of life

i’d really love cross progression because i have so many hours and hours of progress on xbox and i want to switch to pc. but the main thing not making me commit to that is the fact that if i switch to pc, that means i will have to grind all those hours of progress back again. AND on top of that, i’d have to buy all the dlcs i had on xbox for my pc, which i seriously don’t want to do.

I’d love some cross-progression, even if it’s limited to in-game unlocks/purchases only. I don’t mind having to buy everything again on PC (mostly because I already have), but the main thing that stops me from playing on PC is the 2K hours I’ve put into the game on Console. I don’t want to have to earn all those levels again, and I don’t want to lose skins, like my ice blue trapper
It's such a shame that there is no cross-progression between platforms for DBD (aside from Steam/Epic and for whatever reason... Google Stadia? What the fuck were they thinking?) and I just know for a fact that even if they _do_ add cross-progression, they are probably going to make you re-purchase all of your licensed DLC chapters anyways. A few years ago, I stopped playing DBD on Xbox and bought the game on Steam. However, I had to re-purchase _all_ of the chapters that I previously had on Xbox, including both original & licensed characters. That is bullshit, I am not paying full price for everything again, I went to a key site for most of them.
SMITE has had cross-progression for years now (outside of Playstation) and you literally keep all of your DLC, skins, etc. and can use them on whatever platform you want. There is a $30 pack that lets you unlock all characters, current & future, forever. And I got to keep that on Steam and still use it on Xbox. It's insane that a game as small as SMITE has cross-progression comparable to games like fucking Fortnite, the biggest game in the entire world; meanwhile DBD, which is quite big, boasting 60,000,000 players, should absolutely have the ability to link accounts. If Sony doesn't want to cooperate, it shouldn't hold back other platforms unnecessarily.
Warframe, after many years, just very recently got cross-progression added to the game. Even if it took a long time, they worked tirelessly on it and so far it's launched incredibly well. They announced cross-progression all the way back in 2021 and they didn't fucking back down, or give up, or say "Yeah, it's impossible. Sorry. Please fuck off" And it has led me to playing a ton more Warframe (I switched from Xbox to Steam) and now I also have motivation to actually spend money on the game via Steam if I want to support it, knowing full well that I'm not going to be fucked over for it in the long run. They let you merge your old account into your new account and it sort of combines the two, one account is the basis for your story progression, while the other account is lost; but you keep all the resources, items, mods, etc. from that account.
Dbd have account codes unique for every player. In the past you could access that hash code. They have your progress linked to a unique Key, they could let you link that key to another plataform, sony pretty much would not be able to "see" It happening since this would happen in the game background
I play DbD on Switch cause it was my only option, I’ve sunk thousands of hours into it. Now I have a PC and would like the option to play on it. My two mains are Ash and Pig, which means I need to pay for them again since they’re licensed. While I’m still pretty content with my Switch (having never played DbD on PC, I have nothing to compare it to), I still would like the option to move my stuff to PC.
If we get cross-progression but i dont see my characters which i bought as dlc, i will immediatly unnistall and never play it again
I already restarted on PC and bought everything over, so this wouldn't affect me. However, i would like to get all of my console cosmetics, items, and higher prestiges.

idk but I think there is some major legal mumbo jumbo when it comes to crossplay and especially cross progression. Games like Fortnite and Warframe had to do some work in order to get the console giants to actually allow such a thing.
I remember switching to PC in summer of 2021 to play Huntress. So disappointed that there was no cross-progression, so I never made the switch. Still play the game on xbox to this day as I refuse to buy all the DLC again
3 days ago, I made the decision to buy PS5, giving up on how expensive PCs are getting. PS5 clearly provides with the best experience I can get for little to no money. I understood that I lose access to certain games, while also getting access to new games and having to buy a subscription. What made me think twice is the fact that I will lose all my purchased games, dlcs and cosmetics for games available on both platforms, especially for DBD. While I did buy a 1 year Premium Subscription for PS+ and got the base game and 2 DLCs as part of it, I have lost over 3,500 hours worth of progress and over €5,000 in DLC content and cosmetics. What I realized is that, if I don't do it now, the situation will get worse and worse, so I decided to rip the bandage now, so it hurts less than if I would do it next year. What I got in return was "free" access to several titles that I never got to play and exclusive features in games I already played (GTA Online, for example has a ton of content and features exclusive to next gen consoles). I am not sad that I lost also $10,000 worth of content since I can still access it no problem through my laptop. What saddens me is that certain online games do not support me sharing my progress across platforms. GTA Online is the same thing. However, I only played it for 2 weeks before buying a PS5. The watered down experience was what made me buy a console in the first place. I am very happy with my purchase. It is very similar to the experience I would get on a €1,700 PC and I only spent €400. Don't get me wrong! I would totally buy singleplayer games again on PS5 and even DBD+DLC, but I see no reason to have to buy cosmetics and lose my progress.

Nice thing is, most of the characters i own (mainly killers) were bought separately from the DLC packs anyways.
At his point I would love to see if behaviour could get cross progression with just xbox and nintendo to make a point that it's sony that is the problem. This is assuming it is Sony (which is the most likely) This would cause a big negative hit to Sony's PR which would probably make them change their ways for not just Dead by Daylight but all games and would benefit players on all platforms.
If not cross-progression, why add mouse and keyboard on Console version of DBD? I'll be a great addition to the core of the game
As much as I would love to see the cross-progression on Dead by Daylight including both DLC packs and in-game purchases; I would totally be fine with buying every necessary DLC pack again except on one condition, would everything that I had spent on those specific licenses characters still be there even if I bought the DLC pack on a different platform? For example, I am a Michael Myers main, but I bought the DLC pack. So if I switched to PC from Playstation and bought the DLC pack again, would every cosmetic and prestige level still be there?
That's the only thing I could worry about in this situation.

Honestly, I don’t hate that, I have only bought like… 2-3 dlc’s on Steam, and anything else is with auric cells and shards, so if they allow this *with maybe a possibility of making them cheaper with igc* it would be very nice
yeah i remember buying lots of characters and cosmetics when i used to play on ps4..but since i got my pc 3 years ago i stopped buying things with real money...it just feels bad to start over again ..and in dbd its not just a cosmetics u lose perks and any item u got on the characters u leveled up unlike fortnite which its just cosmetics and nothing else

Cross progression technically already existed, between Stadia and PC, and all purchases from when Stadia was a thing are still synced to this day and a couple patches even broke the cross progression and behavior patched it to fix it shortly after, so the basic infrastructure is there, it has to be an issue with deals with the console manufacturers.
Everytime a person commented about Cross progression on a dbd tweet, I’d try to tell them “They said like years ago that they wouldn’t be able to add Cross-Progression due to reasons out of their control” and pretty much every single time I told someone that, they would reply with “No they didn’t” or “When did they ever say that?” And then some people were even saying bhvr is just lying because they’re too lazy to add Cross-Progression. So I just gave up on trying to inform people. I hope this video will shed some light on that for those people but I doubt it cause I’ve noticed that a good chunk of dbd Twitter doesn’t even keep up with the game’s updates and other news at all so they probably don’t even watch dbd videos.

Main reason why I quit playing on PC, as i started playing the game on console and bought some skins and most of the early tome challenges were done, and don't feel like grinding the same shit again 😂

Surprisingly, there was a point in time where Dead by Daylight DID have cross-progression! If you had Google Stadia (RIP), you could technically have cross-progression between the Stadia version and the Steam version of the game. You would just have to link your Stadia account and your Steam account to your BHVR account through the DbD website.
The biggest downside of this was the fact that you technically still had to buy both the Stadia version AND the Steam version of the game, as it only transferred your DLC purchases over.
It's honestly a shame that it only existed for one niche platform, one that already had a cool, exclusive feature in the form of Crowd Choice, which allowed viewers from your RUclips livestreams to vote on your games.
It sucks that it's not available across all platforms still to this day, because it shows that they ABSOLUTELY had the potential of making it happen, but it just comes down to all of these console companies wanting to play ball.
Wouldn't just a easy fix to just allow crossprogression for the Levels, Perks, Items and Offerings? For example I have chucky on xbox on Level 50. It could be connected via crossprogression with the Ps5 but I have to buy chucky again to play him.
We won! Behaviour said (in mid-May) that cross-progression for ALL platforms will be coming sometime this summer. No specific date, but at least a window of when to expect it. As someone who has a great deal of progress on my PlayStation, it was frustrating to learn that cross-progression wasn't a thing when I got it for PC. I can be faulted for not doing my homework in that respect, but I'm just fed up with this industries anti-consumer and predatory bullshit.
I do not blame BHVR for the lack of cross-progression for the same reason I do not blame them for not adding Jason Voorhees. I do blame BHVR for having a lack of care with its community and taking months or years to fix things the community cries for.
Some might not remember sony was apart of the biggest gaming hack during the PS3/PS2 era and they had to do a public apology and promised no data would be stolen again. As a cyber guy I know they would have to give up data in some form to microsoft and no system at the moment is unhackable. Even the cloud has been hacked multiple times under microsofts watch so just the fear of being hacked again might hold sony back.
So what you're saying is, we should riot against Sony for making us all suffer?
I spent a lot on dbd and after I couldn't log in to my old account on my PC I didn't spend a single cent anymore

I have a friend who has every skin for Ace but he plays on the switch. His days are numbered as that console is dying and he's scared he'd lose it all of them don't add cross progression.
I first played dbd on xbox in 2017, by 2019 I moved to PC and it was painful having to unlock all those perks again (with the old levelling system too), when they announced cross-progression was coming to switch I bought the game on switch aaaaand cross progression never came :/ All I want is to play dbd in bed without having to grind for perks...AGAIN

cross progression will be cool and it's now a good thing for me becuse i am now a jake and legion main i was a leon and legion main so i'm happy i won't loss my mains so when is the cross progression update we don't want it we need it one o my firends use to play on ps4 or5 and now they play on pc so they need it aswel
I had the game for free on ps plus at the time, i grinded a bit( nothing crazy) but got able to get decisive strike from the shrine (was a big deal at the time and still is) and actually had some stuff like the perks, not to talk about the characters like the hag, which i had the perks teachable already on console and now on pc i don´t even have them...
I downloaded the game on epic a few years ago for free as well, now with some friends randomly started playin again and been loving the game since, even considering buying some stuff (this part is a bit of a disapointment), if only i had back the stuff i had on console it would be so much greater, especially decisive strike man, i think 5 bucks for a caracter is just way too much

I got banned on PC because I paid a modder to give me everything in the game since my PlayStation account can't transfer to PC. Fortunately I bought the game from g2a for a couple bucks instead of full price so behavior didn't get a dime of my money from that transaction.
i played like 400 hours of dbd last year, this year i havent played a single hour as i moved from xbox to pc and i wont play the game again till cross progression is available. i cant play it on my xbox as i have really bad controller drift + the game runs terribly
, each click in the menus freezes the game for like 5 seconds.
When i have to start a new dbd account i Just get a hacked one, everything unlocked. Just dont cheat and nobody gets hurt.
I cant play on ps4 anymore because the framerate is back to 30 fps even though it was 60 for a short time
