- Arizona’s State Supreme Court will enforce an anti-abortion law that predates the founding of the state, while the presumptive GOP nominee for president can’t decide where he stands on the issue. In sports news, for the first time ever, the NCAA Women’s basketball final was watched by more people than the men’s final.

That's the thing about 'late term' abortions, they are not done because a baby is unwanted. They are because of fetal abnormality. So many things can cause miscarriage or still birth and medically it's far more humane for a fatally ill fetus to be terminated earlier than to be born only to die with a more developed nervous system!!
Pregnancy is too complex to legislate, there are so many variables. As soon as your take away rights from patients and doctors, women and babies suffer.

@@mariegarside8830 i think the logic is being the Roe v Wade decision nullified the existing law (which was in place since 1864) and when the US supreme court revoked that ruling, The arizona supreme court for whatever reason decided to clarify this means the old law that was never repealed, just nullified due to roe v wade, is still on the books and is now not being blocked by a federal ruling, thus the de facto abortion law is back.

Arizona now needs to pass a law that imposes a "pregnancy fee." Any man who impregnates a woman not his wife shall owe that woman no less than $50,000 plus child support (based on income but no less than $700 per month) until the child is 18 years old. If a married man files for divorce from his wife before a child is 18, he shall also owe $50,000 plus child support. If the man is a minor, his parent will be financially responsible as stated. I mean, really, everyone should have consequences, right??
Send this idea to Arizona let's see what they think about it. I definitely agree.
Normalize personal responsibility for men!
I’m all for making men pay child support. They should pay for it even when the mother is pregnant. Oh for the love of God! This is the most effing ridiculous thing.
Actually, that kinda misses the point. While very rare there are medical terminations of pregnancies in late term just about everywhere including the USA.
I felt Pete Buttigieg addressed this best when this question was asked. He actually knew the number of reported late term terminations and some of the tragic circumstances surrounding such. He stated that why would anyone want other than the family and physicians involved make such decisions. Late term terminations are also allowed by laws in those US states with moist restricted laws, Floridia, Texas, etc.
Perhaps the question ought to have been asked of former President Trump as to why his political mates supported late term terminations.
@@russellmiles2861that's only when they know that the child is not going to survive, and the mother risks sepsis or other health complications. @@joannefitzpatrick992 yes, politicians spinning yarns for electoral benifits.

A good mates son what allowed to die after birth. It was apparently going to be minutes but it took 9 days. On Seth Meyer's "Closer Look" segment tonight, he looks at the Arizona situation as well. More crucially, he plays a clip of Kari Lake actually citing the piece of legislation BY NUMBER and supporting it unequivocally.
There's no question... both Trump and Lake are on camera contradicting themselves.
Always a good time with Stephen Colbert ❤
Thanks for the laugh, Stephen 😂. We really need it!💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
To women from Arizona and Texas-
New Mexico is a woman's rights safe harbor .
If they knew how Stupid!they sound saying abortion after ninth month, they would stop!!😅😅
Trump went on to say that after a nine-month pregnancy they execute the baby, same as an abortion. "Execute???" Really??
They are to stupid to realize it.
Exactly…..abortion at 8. 5 months is called a delivery!🤷🏼♀️
Don’t forget, before they decided, the judges were kneeling around the state seal, speaking in tongues. Welcome to Arizona.
and citizens voted for these dudes
That is true. Sen. Anthony Kern apparently was the leader. Craziest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot!
Was it in tongues, or was it Russian?
Was that judges one redditor said it was the legislators and there is a difference
I saw the video, it had to be legislators.
Bumper sticker zi saw there in AZ ....."It's not the heat, it's the stupidity"
This is how insane they are now. Imagine if they had more power.
Arizona wasn't even a state in 1864
The arc of the moral universe does not bend toward justice. Not unless you do something to make it happen.
“You wanna make a 130M $” is so underrated 😂😂😂😂
The age of the law is irrelevant. That it is indefensible wrong is important. We need a Constitutional convention to create several corrective amendments.
Why is Trump even allowed to be out of an insane asylum? He's clearly nuts.
Republican "allies" are scared of him, and his voters are even more nuts and money-shelling!
Just to appear in court, I think...???
Unfortunately, the truth is much worse... The conniving politicians know these facts and take advantage of them: 30% to 40% of all humans are NUTZ, driven by primitive emotions, incapable of independent rational thought, understanding anything remotely complex, using logic properly, suppressing panic and other unhelpful emotions. Basically, sheep that are willing to follow a wolf, even right over a cliff.
@@handyvickers Bazinga! 😆
Because his supporters are stupid.
trump isn't the issue. The republican voters being clinically insane is the issue.
They should ban plastic bags, because there's no plastic bags back in 1864.
They actually should ban plastic bags, that would be a good ban.
Plastic bags have been banned in Australia for several years now. Just recently no plastic straws o4 plastic waste from Maccas and HJs, (McDonalds or Burger King) where they must use bamboo straws and utensils. I hate the bamboo so I use my own stainless steel straw and cutlery. Small changes make a huge difference over time.
@@CT-vm4gf Here in NZ we've effectively ended the "one use" plastic bags. Over a billion a year. And that's for a country the size of South Carolina.
Using that logic they shouldn't get to have cars, airplanes, phones, computers, or penicillin.
That being said, genuinely feel bad for my inlaws.
@@CT-vm4gf The only way that's ever gonna work out on a large-scale is to find a way to make a paper bag that are equally as easy to use.
Dude, wtf is up with trumps face?😅😂 My God what?! I mean just wtf is that?
You know what I'd like to see on RUclips: all Late Night band's commercial sets and the great music we miss!
Yeah! What was that song they started playing at the end?
Abortion is about equality for everyone. A woman should not be forced to put her body through a pregnancy for the same reason a man should not be forced to donate an organ or marrow or even a tiny bit of blood to save a dying child.
Every woman needs to have the RIGHT to choose.💙
Or have to pay if she wants it and I don't.
@@JohnDoe-pk2hs True. Your body your choice, my wallet my choice, as Chapelle once said.
@@JohnDoe-pk2hs What about paying if the man leaves?
@@JohnDoe-pk2hs what criminal statute requires a man to pay for an abortion?
Arizona it will be on our ballot this November, vote!!!
It's imperative to vote Democratic all up and down the ballot to get rid of these crazy gqp white nationalist, not just on the abortion issue
serving the wrong person and providing that person with a disconnected number? they did it on purpose so tfg's lawyers can claim to the judge that the other team failed to respond. it's a delay tactic.
I've been waiting for Stephen to bring up the Potential Juror Questionnaire. And of course, he did it in his own brilliant way😂!
Trump dodges question over whether any past partners had abortions
Asked by Maureen Dowd whether he was ever involved with anyone who underwent procedure, Trump replies simply: Such an interesting question.
He means YES!
So definitely yes.
As a non-American the whole abortion thing is depressing. In a healthy society abortion is necessary like divorce but it should still be seen as something that is not to be actively celebrated. Sadly, the obsession to block abortion elevates abortion to a place where it shouldn't be. If the pro-lifers truly care about American lives, then they would be much more concerned about the insane loss of life from guns and the ever increasing wealth-inequality that means many Americans don't have proper access to life-saving healthcare. It is ironic that some republicans place higher ontological value on a human blastocyst than they do of a young American child living in a poverty.
Exactly
YUP!
Which makes me wonder which part of the bible endorsing the widespread gun usage and endorsement of killing each other with limited consequences? Yet somehow killing embryos to protect a living person is unholy and must be banned under the “rule of god”? Let’s also not ignore the fact that Republicans are forcing religious beliefs onto people who don’t believe Christianity and doesn’t care about those kind of stuff, in a county where you supposed to have freedom of religion, including the choice of having no religion. It’s wrong in so so many levels and I seriously hope they lose badly in November, in senate, in the house, and in presidency.
Well stated. Thank you.
You can't help stupid!!!
ANY country regressing to 1864 laws is a horrible sign.
As somebody who used to manage a tanning salon, I'm telling you from experience that trump, in that clip, definitely just got a spray tan.
In 1864, the age of consent was 10 and Arizona wasn't even a state😂
Women and slaves couldn't vote or hold public office.
Oh yeah, people could be held as slaves.
No Miranda rights (an Arizona case, BTW).

On the positive side, no DMCA.
The age of consent was 10 in Minnesota In 1864. Not all states
That’s absolutely disgusting.
@juliemissick4206 it was the 19th century having an age of consent at 10 years old in 1864 wasn't a usual thing. Delaware after the American Cvil War in 1871 during the Reconstruction era in 1871 Delaware lowered the age of consent from age 10 to age 7 years old. And it was
State Law in Delaware untill 1972.
