If politicians didn't we wouldn't be seeing billions in US subsidies being given to animal agriculture (meat, dairy, eggs), horseracing, and vivisecting yearly. The US dairy industry has not made a profit in 20 years, but it exists thanks to our tax dollars being paid to have cheese and dairy dumped in the millions of pounds, and meat kills millions of animals that never make it to any store.
Stop blaming only two people when ALL of them are evil, corrupt, bribe takers.
The money they give to kill and abuse animals is enough to end global poverty, homelessness, hunger, and pay for all medical care. THAT'S how much is going to kill animals for things we do not need..

From The UK I just can't comprehend how (as part of the system of "checks and balances") it was thought a good idea to have a Supreme Court that would be entirely impartial and yet whose members would be entirely politically appointed. All judges too for that matter. Am I missing something here?
Like a lot of other things in American politics (see: filibuster, electoral college), it relied upon everyone involved recognising the spirit of the law and not being blatantly partisan.

If we can't oust Alito and Thomas, we need a Democratic Supermajority to add 4 new Justices to SCOTUS - it's constitutional and will solve so many problems.

@@jameskuyper A justice shouldn't necessarily be expected to have no party affiliation, but they should all be moderate, not extremists, and be trusted to always put the constitution first. There are also many people who don't affiliate with any party, but put logic first and agree with certain perspectives of both, which is the proper mindset of a healthy individual. Nobody should be a sheep for either party.

Small clarification on the whole swastika thing. That isn't a forgotten symbol, at least in eastern Asia (where it also has a different orientation). It is still a symbol used (called "manji" in India and "wàn" in China) and celebrated as "a mark of well-being". Now, that said, if someone has a Nazi swastika flag, they are 100% a Nazi. If they have a Buddhist swastika, they are either a devout Buddhist or a very confused Nazi.

( Thanks Dad 😂 ) The current situation is unprecedented, and one party has clearly lost their minds, a party whose decisions literally affect all of us, almost always negatively. They have a slim majority in the house. It may be the junior chamber, but they are the biggest threat to Democracy today. Their religion is to be your religion at all costs. Literally. This is the most important election in my lifetime. And it’s not for me, I’ll be dead soon. YOU have to get involved, it’s your life they want control of.

I don’t know about the us but in France religious symbols of any kind are forbidden in places of government therefore no gvt officers appointees would ever display any appartenance or would be sanctioned immediately !!
