This is one of the great moments in American television. It is both brilliant and imaginative. For the first time in a long time, somebody did not underestimate the intelligence of a television audience. BRAVO!!!!!!!

If this show is produced many years from now, Steve Allen would certainly be one of the four guest luminaries.

My but this is a marvelous way to bring historical characters to life. If only today's youth could see these valuable series.

My understanding is that there are recordings of every episode in the archives at PBS and in Steve Allen's personal library preserved by his estate.
A new generation should be allowed access to these wonderful performances.

Meeting of Minds was one of the best tv series ever produced. Steve Allen was brilliant and way beyond a common renaissance man…he was just so unbelievably accomplished!

I was 16 when the series began. I was already interested in History but this series sparked a lifelong study of Philosophy. I'm very grateful to you for posting these episodes.

Another example of proof that Steve Allen was one of the most remarkable minds of the past hundred years.

And from what I see these days, we will probably never see another like him again.

He was a genius, and like all geniuses, was unique. As a child, Allen was my role model. I adore him!

Poor old Machiavelli. I feel so sorry for him. All he ever did was to write a book about how society works, and to tell the truth about it.As a result, he is considered a villain. The truth will set you free? i think not.

4:15 If I remember correctly, I think Jayne Meadows Allen (who plays Elizabeth Barrett Browning in this episode), that her parents had been missionaries in China. I may be mistaken, but...
