This is one of the great moments in American television. It is both brilliant and imaginative. For the first time in a long time, somebody did not underestimate the intelligence of a television audience. BRAVO!!!!!!!
My understanding is that there are recordings of every episode in the archives at PBS and in Steve Allen's personal library preserved by his estate. A new generation should be allowed access to these wonderful performances.
Meeting of Minds was one of the best tv series ever produced. Steve Allen was brilliant and way beyond a common renaissance man…he was just so unbelievably accomplished!
I was 16 when the series began. I was already interested in History but this series sparked a lifelong study of Philosophy. I'm very grateful to you for posting these episodes.
Poor old Machiavelli. I feel so sorry for him. All he ever did was to write a book about how society works, and to tell the truth about it.As a result, he is considered a villain. The truth will set you free? i think not.

Totally agree
My but this is a marvelous way to bring historical characters to life. If only today's youth could see these valuable series.

Another example of proof that Steve Allen was one of the most remarkable minds of the past hundred years.
And from what I see these days, we will probably never see another like him again.
He was a genius, and like all geniuses, was unique. As a child, Allen was my role model. I adore him!
This show is one of the few pieces of evidence that humanity deserves to survive.
Great series that help educate me as a child.
Unforgettable.
The great Keye Luke of Charlie Chan and Kung Fu fame.

Does anyone know the names of these actors?
They are named in the last few seconds of the video - in the credits
39:30: Twice, i might add.
No part 2?
Sorry. They are very hard to locate.
I have seen part 2 posted on RUclips, but it appears to have been taken down, likewise several others.
How do we get other episodes?
We don't. Steve's son is the spanner in the works

Aristole was also bigot as well saying certain people were meant to be slaves.
The slaves were Greek, too.
Slavery still going on today: cheap labor?
