I've always wondered about how the children who were put out of work by the child labor laws survived the loss of income.

This is a great way to learn history, to hear contrasting opinions in dialog, the exchange of ideas in discussion. How civilized and rare.

This was awesome. I loved it!

How wonderful to see actors create before our eyes. There has been some rehearsal, but the units are chunky and the transitions flexible. Each actor has clearly been involved in the creation of their story. That tedious mill from idea pitch to production house to the gaggle of writers each with their specialities before casting flattens everything into immediately acceptable stereotypes, and the floor manager wanting everything in the box as soon as possible. If this were done now, it would be a six minutes stifling parody with a laugh track.

This is what television was once and should (and could be) again! All that's missing is Bob and Ray. The word 'genius' gets given out so/too often that we've left the genuine persons of genius crying in the wilderness of vapid drivel that is broadcast media; TV . It's fun to think up the roundtable of today.

The acting is so good. I though the actors studied the historic characters, and did improvisation.. But it was a script written by Steve Allen.

"Great artists steal." I have stolen this brilliant idea and format from the late, great Steve Allen and have my university students replicate them using people associated with topics we're examining. Students must become experts in the character, biography, and thinking of the person they are assigned so that they can accurately answer questions and engage in debate with their fellow guests around the table. The rewards of this activity are too numerous to list here. I always explain who Steve Allen was and give him full credit for this genius idea.

with all that is going on I went back in my memories at now 85 yr, old , and remembering this Meeting of the Minds, I use to love to watch all these programs thank you RUclips I can go back in time of my youth. I use to love PBS at that time.
