This doesn't have cables for the gearchange. It has a rod linkage similar to the Corsa C. The thrust bearing wasn't difficult to change once the rest of the clutch had been removed. I was able to make just enough room to get the job done.
I had to loosen the right engine mount to cheat myself a bit more room. It is possible to change the clutch without having to remove the front subframe.
Just put in your registration number on the Euro Car Parts website. Don't forget to get a quote from a few local motor factors. They might be able to give you a cheaper price.
I'm in West Yorkshire. My mechanic was asking about £500 to do the job so your quote sounds about right. He said that the front subframe has to be removed to be able to remove the gearbox completely. I was able to change the clutch without having to remove the rear subframe. Unfortunately, the car is no more so it won't be appearing again on my channel.
You saved them folks a bunch of money can you imagine what a shop would charge 👍 Road worthy again awesome !
I was quoted £500 by my mechanic. The total cost came in at about £90 which included 3 litres of gearbox oil.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2023 Parky, for you and family! I've missed that intro of yours!!
Thanks for making the time to post a comment. All the best to you and your family.
That cast and crew have some pretty hilarious names😂...
@@n.v.knovak3285 I'm glad you noticed my spoof credits. It was inspired by Bad Obsession Motorsport (they of Project Binky fame).
very intresting thanks for sharing
Did you disconnect the gear cable by any chance and what was the thrust bearing like to change?

@@Parknest Thanks for the reply! from what I know it's a 6-7 hr job but the subframe can be lowered enough to do the job, may have a go myself!
