alejandro must have REALLY had affection for kate. the guy was a hardened assassin. they don't form attachments.. and i've read stories about how assassins would be more inclined to kill someone off the bat if they thought that in any way the person could somehow lead to them being gotten to; even if they liked the person.. even if they spent time working together ("sorry, it's just business"). Kate could definitely be seen as a "loose end" for someone like him. if he didn't care about her at all, he probably would have had her sign the paper, and then killed her and staged it as a suicide anyway, just to be sure. the fact that he didn't, as well as the fact that he didn't kill her for pointing the gun at him a second time, shows how much leeway he was willing to give her
The low level policeman ( whose son loved playing soccer with Dad) had to be killed in order to get to the head cartel leader ( if he was allowed to live, he could have communicated to the cartel boss a Sicario (hit man) was on his way to kill him.
"Nothing will make sense to your american ears" indeed! Silvio was a dirty cop bought by the Cartel and part of the drug traffic. And Alarcon has families killed every day because he feels immune to consequences. If Alejandro only kills him (assuming he's not on a revenge path), his wife and kids inherit the business and will come for him eventually. This is why he tells Kate this is the land of wolves and she should go to a small town, the real drug trade is gruesome and violent beyond reason and laws don't apply to them. The best to you both and pets for Boo!
The black and white images during the tunnel sequence is thermal imaging (infrared, IR, or heat), while the green images are light intensifiers ("starlight scopes")
The whole "anyone outside of this room is a potential shooter" line was specifically talking about their mission in Juarez because they were going into cartel territory...
Don't shoot cop he's dirty transporting drugs to poison every kid, adult they are all deserving if death u r nuts 2 think of them as innocent he gave the boss Exactly what was given to him so he could feel the pain
Cut off his wife's head and put his daughter into a vat of acid. (You were talking over the second part.) As to the cop - how many innocent lives do you think he might have taken or ruined? Having a son doesn't make him a good guy.
Everyone always thinks Silvio's death is unwarranted. He was a corrupt cop and, though he may never have directly killed someone, his corruption caused so much death and suffering.
Also to note, Alejandro killing him was actually a kindness. He knew that if Silvio were left alive the cartel leadership might very well consider him a traitor or incompetent...and punish him through his family. Silvio getting killed during the incursion removes suspicion from him in the eyes of his employers...and guarantees the safety of his wife and son. Its why Alejandro tells him that everything he does going forward is for his family
Silvio the cop is supposed to represent all the faceless and nameless people who die in this movie/in real life to the cartels. He had a wife and son and yet he’s killed off as any other one of the random henchmen killed in this movie.
He was killed because if he lives the cartel goes after him and his wife and child just for the fact of being alive. That's why he is told what you do now is for your family. He would have been tortured and his entire family killed if let go. Also to me the only thing he represents is the fact he and everyone involved either does what the cartel wants or everyone dies. I think they set that pretty well when they went to get the guy in prison. I'm not saying your comment is wrong but I never ever saw tht character in that way at all.
@@jaycehoward2771 the entire story/Movie is fictional, so of course in reality he'd be killed to avoid loose ends but what im talking about is the meaning behind his character and why he is in the movie. throughout the movie you see him as a normal man, a father a husband. not until his final scenes do you learn he is corrupt but at that point does it matter? you've already seen his life and his family. so when hes killed and left on the side of the road its more of a representation. every single cartel member that is killed in this movie is exactly like Silvio. has a family and loved ones, although it doesnt stop them from being killed all the same.
@@Brandawn69 I'm not saying you are wrong but again I think it's pretty well established that family members are not safe at all. So to me he is a Character that shows us no matter what you do or how good of a person you are and how well you treat the family you can't say no to the cartel. Also I don't think he was clearing up loose ends at all when he shot the cop. I think he knew if he didn't kill him he would be caught along with his wife and son and they woul all die for him bringing him to the first meeting. I think that is made perfectly clear before he is shot and killed he is told what you do now is for your family. It's the only way his family survives is he dies. I think that it's made very clear families are not safe at all. The parallel between him and the cop to me is pretty evident. He was a prosecutor who's wife and daughter got slaughtered over him, the other a cop who if left alive after the event the next boss will absolutely want answers and his family would be prime targets along with the cop. But your perspective is interesting but I never saw that with that character at all.
@@jaycehoward2771 I see the parallels of the two characters. From seeing the film about a dozen of times I’ve always seen Silvio as a representation to all the victims of this “war” he is built up as a family man, it’s clear throughout the entire movie that his character is supposed to have a deeper meaning besides the random shots of him eating food with his family or talking about soccer with his son. I always interpreted it as the humanization of a character that we would eventually discover that is a cartel member. I always saw it perfectly clear that his death was senseless and cold just like almost all of the deaths in this film, wether it was SWAT cops being blown up, dead people hidden in the walls of the house, the killed cartel members at the border and so on and so on. Silvio being killed just as senselessly as the rest humanizes all those who die during the film. I feel like it’s a deeper meaning contrary to “oh the next cartel boss will torture and kill him anyways if he’s left alive” neither one of us is right or wrong tho. I do like your opinion on the paralleles of both characters. That was eye opening.
By the book. The only US law that was broken was when Kate re-entered the US through the tunnel instead of a Port of Entry. The rest of it? Her own boss told her that the boundries had been moved, and they weren't breaking the law. They broke laws in Mexico, but not the US. Not sure why she had a problem signing that paper.
You think there is no US law saying anything about going into another country and killing women and children? Because if that is "by the book" then certainly law enforcement should have no problem openly stating to the public they had someone on board that did that, right?

The Netflix series' "Narcos" and "Narcos Mexico" cover much of the real events in the drug war between the 1980's and early 2000's, including the references to Cartagena and Medellin in "Sicario". the first season of "Narcos Mexico" takes place before the 3rd episode of "Narcos", and the 2nd season of "Narcos Mexico" takes place during the rest of the 1st season of "Narcos". "Narcos" uses Colombian Spanish instead of Mexican Spanish (that we are used to hearing in the US), which is different enough that even a non-native speaker like me can hear the difference in pronunciation, which I found very interesting. One of the main characters in "Narcos Mexico" is played by the same actor who plays Cassian Andor in "Star Wars Rogue One" and the Disney+ series "Andor".

What I always found great about Kate as a character is that she is exactly where she is supposed to be, with Matt and Alejandro. We're stoked that you found our channel! As it happens, we just started working with a new editor, who's an Australian. He's currently working on a reaction to A Quiet Place, which we recorded a short time ago. If you've not seen the movie, we really recommend you do. It's amazing. Then come back for the reaction. It'll be on our Patreon this week and on RUclips at some point later. Cheers!
Loved the video, great reaction! for Emily Blunt movies, I recommend Huntsman Winter's War, The English (Series), Jungle Cruise, Mary Poppins Returns, both Quiet Places, and so much more. Also, both Emily and Benicio (Alejandro) also star in the 2010 adaptation of The Wolfman, which is also pretty good!
Thanks so much for watching with us and for the recommendations!! We have a reaction to A Quiet Place and may have one for the sequel in the future if there are enough requests for it. Toy also has a reaction to Edge of Tomorrow. It was one of the very first videos we made on this channel.
A+ for engagement. RUclips promotes videos based on the volume of comments they receive, among other factors. Thank you for helping increase the reach of this reaction.
It is a pain to edit due to copyright restrictions, but we do have full length watch-along reactions on our Patreon. You don't miss a moment of the reaction that way.

Hell or High Water was an awesome movie by this guy Taylor
Hell or High Water definitely. Wind River too to round out his Modern Western Frontier trilogy (Sicario, HoHW, WR).
If this movie broke your heart, Wind River will destroy it.
He was a regular on the first several seasons of "Sons of Anarchy".
“You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now.”
Interesting Benecio says that line to Emily, given they both starred in the 2010 screen adaptation of Wolfman.

Cheers!
Sicario 2 sucks, you're a fool
I stayed for two reasons
😂😂😂
Great movie, inaccuracies here and there, soundtrack spectacular, how things work irl, close enough

A+ for engagement. RUclips promotes videos based on the volume of comments they receive, among other factors. Thank you for helping increase the reach of this reaction.

Glad you enjoyed the reaction.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you are both beautiful. It's rare to see.
I hate how you have to cut the video every 3 seconds cuz copyright it literally kills the reaction imo good video tho
It is a pain to edit due to copyright restrictions, but we do have full length watch-along reactions on our Patreon. You don't miss a moment of the reaction that way.
You Scard of the dark
Why it sound like they are moaning in every scene 😂no hate reaction was good though
Why would you smile through this movie?
So as to anger those in the comments, who lack a sense of humor.
OK this is over top. You'd think you we're watching a horror movie or something. 😆
