Jeff that reminds me of a little story. Once I was on a jobsite and some kids were jackhammering the remains of an old concrete utilidor to make way for the new one under construction. It is a noisy job. After a bit I hear no noise. I look over, they got the jackhammer stuck in the concrete. So they go get another hammer which also got stuck. A bit later I hear more jackhammering and then silence again. These 2 kids had 3 jackhammers stuck in the same spot. They were just staring at what they'd done. So I just had to yell "whats the matter boys, all out of jackhammers?" I wish you could have seen their faces. Love your channel, keep up the good work.
You have given me the gold bug. I have been glued to your channel, studying geology books and so forth. I appreciate your vast knowledge in Geology and gold mining. I've been exploring all the old Cinnabar mines in the antelope springs mining district lately which is fascinating and have been trying to identify all the geology as I explore, so thank you for what you do.
Jeff, They actually manufacture a chainsaw designed for cutting concrete. We have one where I work. It has a water hose attachment for blade coolant and helps keep the dust down we always use a 3 gallon pump sprayer with it in areas where there is no water hydrant available.
So pretty, you got luck-E finding her. Wish my chick didn't have to be bribed to go outside and swing the detector around. I told her it's good for her flabby arms😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Awesome cleanout! Lila is gonna lead you to the big pockets! Always amazed at how much time, thought, and effort you have put into that "little hole" (the mine, to be clear!). Such a great project. We all need one of those, no need for a gym, no commercials, just rewarding hard work!
I may be a nerd, but I get way more of a thrill out of the idea of hunting for and finding the gold than I do for the money. There is just something really primal and meaningful about getting outside with family and friends and getting rewarding finds to support it all. I don't know if I will ever strike it rich, but you'd have to kill me to make me stop wanting to hunt rocks and minerals for the fun of it! That's what I appreciate about this channel. I may not have been certain what to make of you initially(you know you're silly!), but I've learned that you really have a passion for this and that you have really done your homework over the years on the things that really help in the pursuit. I can only hope to have a fraction of your energy levels and knowledge as I dive into this hobby in earnest! Thanks for providing good education and entertainment!
Thanks for the info on the layers. I think it will help me better understand the layers around where I'm working and prospecting. Also enjoyed the copper smelting info. Looking forward to more metals.

I admire your tenacity, but I like to reduce the manual labour, by making bigger shafts & drives so I can get a bobcat loader into to do the mucking & drilling for blasting ( bobcat is modified with a bolt on hydraulic percussion drill) my shafts are minimum 8ft by 10 ft . Kudos to you though from 🇦🇺.
@@Askjeffwilliams,,, it's doable if you possess fab& weld skills & not expensive, if you source solid used inexpensive machinery ( 2x used pre 1995 bobcats in my country less than $30k for both) + $25 K to modify. My logic was it's cheaper to do this than to buy a new family car , so why not , and it upped my production & ROI 47gpt Au X 10 t per 10 days = a nice smelted ingot and a solid profit against any capital outlay. But initial outlay = $250k AUD start up . Reef mining old workings from late 1890's .
Jeff, that was obviously created by a massive circumstance of some kind. Could you explain the regional geology of how those beds and strata were laid down?
Wow congrats on the nugget she found and I enjoy your adventures I don't think I could fit in your mine and I'm happy to watch you and your wife thanks for putting so much work into this channel its great Chris the porch miner
Jeff Williams! You got a brand new fan! I'm smashing that like button real hear!. Great information, some of the best educational videos on prospecting and mining. My 10 year old daughter (whose also a huge fan now) and I are heading to the Cali coast to do some crabbing over Christmas break, but we plan to stop and see if we get lucky in one of the gold districts of NV on our way from Utah. Wish we had a gold monster, but not this trip. My wife and daughter want to book one of your excursions next year, so hopefully, we get to meet you soon. Keep it up and thank you for the entertaining and highly educational videos.
