I own an old tungsten mine in AZ near Bagdad with 9 other guys that’s 300 acres. It was founded in 1941 and closed down in 1962. Some of us have metal detectors and we find small gold nuggets in the washes after it rains hard. It’s a lot of work to dig out though. If we had nuggets like that I’d be there more. Jeff was the washer a joke? How did it get imbedded in rock?

My ideas would be an electric walk behind skid loader and a mini electric excavator with a hammer attachment. No need for a track system and less back breaking work. Although your tunnels would need to be made slightly larger for the machines to fit and turn around. I would also recommend putting a jumbo sand and sample bag lining the sump to catch anything that misses the skip bucket. When it needs cleaned out, just remove the bucket and hoist the bag up to the surface

Hey Jeff, that winch has a Six Million Dollar Man theme all its own while the motors running. BEWARE THE RED WORMS , they eat gold while the mine is dark and quiet. You better install security cameras!

😂😂😂 dedication to your channel! Carrying a VHS tape down into your mine to visually describe your mining background 😂😂😂 that is the definition of "fully invested"
    Love it 👌

You could always put a pan in the red worm hole with a hook so when overburdened does start to fill up you pull it out and dump that saving time

Hey Jeff would you mind making a video showing the process once you dump the material into the barrel and sending it to the surface

Good thing I smashed that LIKE button real hard, so I could see you find that awesome nugget ! Wow, they just keep on coming. Yeehaw !! What if you fitted that sump with a heavy canvas tarp with ties on each corner ? That way you could easily lift all those rocks at once. Just a thought. Thanks for another great video, Brother !

I love the working of the mine. Don’t change a thing. The gold is the payoff, but there is a 💩load of work beforehand. This is the reality of basically hard rock mining. Been watching you for years. Your drift mine is one of my favorites.

JIM!!!! You just hit my nostalgia button... When I first moved to Las Vegas (The second time.) in 1976, my wife and I used to explore the desert around the area.
I got my pilot's license in 1977 and I would fly around out in the middle of nowhere and find things like MINE SHAFTS, then mark them on the SECTIONAL and drive back and explore them.
We were out shooting on the dirt road that leads from Goodsprings to Sandy Valley, when we stumbled on some mine remnants and a piece of corrugated sheet metal on the ground that I lifted up looking for SNAKES.
What I found was a vertical shaft which went straight down about 80 feet.
The ladder was made out of coal car tracks.
We drove into Vegas and bought battery operated head lights and canteens and headed back down the mine shaft.
When we got to the bottom, the tunnels were from 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide to about 7 feet tall and we found coal cars, even a newspaper that had the headline, "ROOSEVELT DIES TODAY!" and a blue jar of Vicks Vapor Rub.
Lots of coal car rail spikes and a room that was about 12 x 14 feet. We walked for four hours until we found a wall that was closed by a cave-in and realized that was as far as we could go. It took another four hours to get back up, we had spent the entire day down there.
There was a pole with a TOBACCO CAN on it and inside the can was a document that read, "Yellow Tail Mine, Provo, Utah." Not exactly sure about the Provo part, but I think that is what it said. Definitely said UTAH.
It had a date on it, but I cannot remember the date.
My friend, my wife and a Black friend we worked with returned and explored the mine about a week later, but about 1/2 the way through the mine, the overhead beam which looked to be about a 12 x 12 was broken, we think there was an earthquake between our visits and I would not let my wife go beyond the broken beam, she stayed on the other side in case something went wrong, she could get out.
My Black friend joked that he might have been the only Black man to ever go down into that mine.
I know NOTHING about MINES or MINING, I have been a professional photographer for over 50 years, but I have explored a few mines when I stumble across them.
WONDERING IF THE MINE WE EXPLORED IN 1977 WAS THE SAME MINE YOU SPENT TIME IN BETWEEN GOODSPRINGS AND SANDY VALLEY? dizeman.com

it probably is as we have been in every one of them ....it took 20 years to explore them all
