I honestly think the true failed superteam was Kyrie, KD, and Harden. Consider everything the Nets gave up to get Harden and how incredible the team was when all 3 actually played together. But they almost never did! Only 16 games total, across most of 2020-2021 and half of 2021-2022. But between injuries and Kyrie being Kyrie, they never could. As Zach Lowe says, they were the one of the greatest “on paper” teams in recent history, but games aren’t won on paper.

Last year with less than 20 games for Durant, the Suns did pretty well with him and Booker and as a Suns fan even if it doesnt work, Im happy that the new ownership at least is swinging for the fences and not trying to scrape for pennies. Same thing goes on for the other pro teams in AZ, DBacks have huge TV deals and money, but refuses to spend, Cardinals ownership is willing to spend, but dumb decisions. So yeah, finally feels good the Suns trying to get a super team for a push for a championship. Even if it means several years of mediocrity after this team is done. Why? No offense to Andy, but most of these teams were not even super teams. The 2013 Retirement Home Nets, 2018 OKC We Need More Balls 3, the 2018 Injury Bonafide AD Boogie Pelicans, and the 2020-23 Kawhi+Backboard P Clippers were NOT super teams. None of them had the amalgamation of two bonafide superstars and one perennial all-star or star level player. The 2013 Nets was jokingly dubbed a super team despite not having a single superstar. The only true super teams of the 2010s were the 2010-2013 Heat, the 2012-13 Lakers, and the 2016-19 Warriors. Then if you want to count the 2020-2022 Nets, that would be for the 2020s. Those Nets with KD, Harden, and Irving were definitely a super team. Not the Ben Simmons version, wtf Andy lol. The 2021-22 Lakers were also a super team that failed in epic fashion in the 2020s.

The NBA is going in a much better direction now and the Nuggets are a great team to lead it. Teamworkd, hard work, defense, passing, unselfish, humble, post up play, etc. Rules are changing and a new era of basketball has begun. Im watchin the NBA again.

      Two reasons they say that:
      - Neither Pippen or Rodman were the caliber of player that a franchise builds around.
      - Pippen wasn't even drafted by the Bulls; the Sonics traded him away for Olden Polynice (!). His potential on D didn't show much until playoffs of his 2nd yr, and consistency until his 3rd year in '89-90 = the first yr under Phil Jackson.

Bruh, Rodman was the Draymond Green of the 90s Bulls. After his great 1996 season, in 97 and 98 he was declining hard and often not starting in playoff games because of his loss of focus. Kukoc often started over him. The 90s Bulls were at no point a super team, Rodman was not a star player going into the 1995-96 season. He was a controversial maniac just about out of the league if not for the Bulls. The Bulls only traded Will Perdue for Rodman. That's it....

If Rodman didn't buy in he could have torpedoed the whole thing just by being a distraction, or more of one.

Westbrook/George/Melo was not a super team nor a failed super team. I classify a super team as 3 CURRENT All-NBA/All-Defensive team players on the same team. And a failed super team is a team that has 3 All-NBA/All-Defensive players from the season prior and it n mot working out. Melo’s last All-NBA/All-Defensive team was the 2012/13 season.
Davis and Cousins. Not close to a super team even if they make/made an All-NBA/All-Defensive team. That’s only 2 players. Not 3.
Russ, AD, Bron wasn’t a super team or failed super team either. Russ made All-NBA/All-Defensive in 2020. Not 2021, the year prior to joining LA.
PG and Kawhi. Again. That’s 2. Not 3. Doesn’t qualify for my standards.
Although there’s a bunch of names. It wasn’t a failed super team. None of them even made All-NBA/All-Defensive in 2013. Not a single one of them. Not a super team/failed super team.
