  • This was my first time changing my tires myself, normally I just hire someone but at the last minute they canceled leaving me with a 2 week wait to go anywhere else. It already started snowing here in Canada so I researched thoroughly online how best to tackle the Q7 seasonal tire swap myself. I had to watch a dozen videos to get all the steps required as most reviewers were only covering one or two of the steps and skipping all the rest. Therefore I decided to make you this video which covers all the steps I curated from almost a dozen videos online. In the end there really was nothing to it and it was hardly as intimidating as I once thought. From now on I will be doing all my own seasonal tire changes.
LIST OF TOOLS YOU WILL NEED
1/2" nut size 2ft long breaker bar
1/2" nut size 2ft long torque wrench (i tried using a smaller one and it broke on the second nut) needs to go up to 120 lb/ft of torque
17mm 2" long socket 1/2" fitting as it needs to reach into the rim
couple blocks of wood to chock the stationary wheels
Audi Jack with the white cylinder which fits really stably under the car *
Drill or driver just to speed things up with the Jack and lug nut removal
Air pump, check pressure requirements on the driver side door, mine said 36psi front and back.
    Kids help for grunt work
    * note: the Q7 doesn't actually come with a jack unless you asked for one at time of sale. In Canada the Q7 build sheet actually lists the Jack as a $0 option so as long as the dealer ticks it off when you order the car, there shouldn't be a charge and it is just left sitting in the trunk for you (there is no proper in car storage for the jack). I bought my Q7 CPO used and just asked the dealer to give me a jack and they did. IMO it is the best jack to use on this car because the top of the jack has a cylinder which fits directly into a socket adjacent each wheel and is very stable. Using an electric drill makes it very easy to raise and lower the jack as well.

Wait, I thought you should only measure the tire pressure after it's mounted and on the ground?

so I am guessing each set of tires has pressure sensors installed? Are they factory sensors? How does this work?
