Man I have this problem on oneplus 6 and think it may be why I get so much echo on data voice apps. I also failed the mic record/play test yet somehow can still make calls. OnePlus support and quality is down the tube we need a new option one that can really compete with Apple quality without the price gouging.

Props to you for managing that, but Chrysler needs to provide a way to install an after-market rack/extra wide crossbars. I can mount two canoes side-by-side on my Dodge Caravan (with Yakima crossbars). I'd like a Pacifica, but their flimsy narrow rack is a deal breaker for me.

So you turned up the ringtone volume? How was the media volume set then? Sure it looked like the other phone was picking the sound way better but it would have also be helpfull to see the media volume settings.

Sounds crazy but I have found when the microphone starts having issues on my OPO, I simply plug the earphone jack into the phone and pull it out again. Something is reset or corrected doing this. It's a mystery.

I had the same issue and I "fixed it" by disabling "Ok Google" from any screen. Just go to Google Now, Settings, Voice, Ok Google and toggle off "From any screen". Now it works great but I had to sacrifice a feature that I actually used often, not happy!

I had the same issue, except mine was nearly out of warranty and the company put me through hell trying to get a new one. I'll spare you guys the details, but it took many back-and-forth e-mails and ridiculous amounts of troubleshooting over the phone to get a new phone. 2 months after I receive my new phone, the same problem with the microphone happened again. As of now it is out of warranty and even if it weren't, I wouldn't want to go through that whole process again. OnePlus has lost me as a customer for good.

If you look at the one plus phone there are there small single holes one at the bottom just to the side of the speaker, one on top and one just to the side of the camera. Make sure all the holes are clear, maybe even take the cover off to make sure. If there is even the slightest blockage in any of these holes your sound will be badly affected.

Speaking on what you all have said. I have done the same, requested support and now an RMA. I ran into the issue where my one plus was purchased on amazon, and one plus did not to honor the warranty, luckily I was able to reach out to the seller and he was able to provide me the ordered number from the one plus website, this experience had been truly awful and leaves a disgusting taste in ur mouth. Can they just look up the iemi number?? Oh, and I had to send a video with pictures of the issue, really?? Its been 8 weeks and I am still waiting on my RMA. I can honestly say after this, I will not be doing business with them again, I rather drop my money on Motorola or another company that can give me a no hassle warranty. I also tried the build.prop I had CyanogenMod, but it did not fix the issue for me.

I've had my phone for 10 months and this issue began 2 weeks ago. I've been running Oxygen version 1.0 since it became available and the mic worked fine on Oxygen so it is not an OS version issue. Based on what I'm reading online, I requested a return/repair but have not heard back on this request yet. Before finding this video I tried the recommended edit of build.prop which made no difference. Sometimes with in a call it works perfectly , but most of the time after 5-10 sec the mic stops working and the other person cant hear. I also feel that its a software issue as with sound recorder it gives clear sound. Is rooting is the only option left??
