Honest Hampton Bay Fire Pit Review

This is an honest review of the Hampton Bay Piedmont 30 in. Steel Fire Pit in Black with Poker. I bought this fire pit 2 years ago. The lid is pretty rusted and the handle is falling apart. At the current price I'd buy a different brand.

From the looks of it, the firepit is not the issue.
This is from lack of maintenance
I have had mine for 6 years, and it just now has needed replacement. how have I had it for so long?
I Spray painted the mesh with hi-temp black paint every year
I put a good layer of sand in the bottom
I changed the sand every season
I cleaned it every season
I used a firepit grate for it to raise the wood off the bottom
I emptied it of water when it rained.
and Most importantly...
You COVER it during the off season.
