Our music teacher gave us this song to analyse in high school for our end of year assignment. I was a huge Enz fan as my older sister's used to hang out with them in the 70's. My school report was the best LOLhaha

I had not heard this in over 30 years. It suddenly popped into my head. Given the age we live in I went straight to RUclips and there it was...

    One of their most-fascinating tunes...
The polyrhythm of the melody against the rhythmic bed is deceiving, but makes perfect sense.
The escalation from a North Atllantic-, even Celtic-sounding folk song, into almost a War Chant, and back again, is like nothing I've ever heard, and sets off the autobiographical lyric beautifully.

The drum fill starting at 0:23 reminds me of those British Paints ads with Rolf Harris.
