- Chris records Contemplation live in the studio. This version is not the original from Blue Bolero but an alternate take. Actually this was recorded September 2011, about a year and a half after the album was released, and on a different guitar. The original was recorded with a Benedetto Bambino archtop guitar. This new take, with an American US strat fitted with Lindy Fralin pickups.
Perfect ending after the "Twist"of my day. Thank you sweet magic fingers...tears have stop and it is calm.
So serene and beautiful. Impeccable. His playing takes me to such a happy place.❤️. When I was going through chemo, this was my calm and sweet. Could listen to him alllllll day. Just mmmmmmmmmmmm.

That arrangement is absolutely beautiful. I remember first listening to Pat Metheny's "Secret Story" release in 1992. (Still one of my favorite albums). The sounds of children playing in the backround is a nice addition. It brings a touching and emotional dimension to your most excellent playing on the Strat Chris. I agree with the prior comments....This version is a refuge from the fast paced world we live in. Thanks for sharing these "one off" videos !
@yodajazzcat - I went through a voodoo lab sparkle drive pedal, pretty much set on clean boost, Then the signal goes through an acoustic image clarus2r amp head and a 12 inch Raezer's Edge speaker cab miked with a shure 57. A little reverb and delay from the studio board and that's it. I will say that I now almost exclusively play the guitar with my fingers which produces a much fatter tone than with a pick. This is quite a recent thing for me actually.
