-- NOTE: Andy used a 1965 Gibson Tal Farlow guitar with a Peavey Special 130 Amplifier from the 1980's. A microphone was placed in front of the guitar to record the acoustic sound and was blended with the amplified sound in the final mix.

Hey, just stumbled on this - excellent find! "More than a Woman", nice cover.
My compliments to the trio - what a wonderful performance! Andy Brown's roots in Kenny Burrell certainly show, but he has a sound all of his own. The bassist and drummer are wonderful also; I don't know their names - but whoever they are, they know how to lay it down. It isn't always easy coming up with a compelling sound in a trio setting, but the guys definitely manage it. Compliments also on some of the best sound - some of the best tone - I have heard on a jazz recording in quite sometime.
GeorgiaBoy1961 bassist, Joe Policastro, like Andy is from Cincinnati, now living in Chicago. I don't know the drummer, but he sounds great, too.

Just stumbled across this gig and never heard of this guy. He reminds me of Duke Robillard when Duke is playing jazz style. I can hear the Lenny Burrell influence. Great tone and sense of timing

'65 Gibson Tal Farlow run through an old Peavey Special 130 amp. I never thought too much of the Tal Farlows, but Andy sure makes it sing!
