Great video pal as always. Was waiting for it. DEFAULT settings was BRIGHTENS : 100, CONTRAST : 1.00. The HDR looks sick in this games and they actually enabled it in vulkan also (which was not the case in EA). I came to similar settings on my Q90B. For the class I would suggest Sorcadin. Start as paladin and slap some ass, be tanky and charming then after 5 or 6 level (if you want the aura) go storm sorcerer and fly as a bonus action after casting a spell. There is mindflayer skill tree in the game so I am dark urge and I will become one. P.S. if you choose dragonborn you can make a freaking PREDATOR (look for predaciuos crest) 10/10
Thank you so much, settings are perfect as always. If you’re still struggling with the game, I recommend either a fighter which is the simplest class in the game overall, or the warlock, which is the least overwhelming magic centric class.
Been enjoying this game so much. I feel like a kid again playing this with my little brother through splitscreen. We haven’t been able to play locally together like this through an entire campaign since Halo. The polish, graphics and Frame rate have been stellar for a game like this with splitscreen. I cannot recommend this game enough for everyone even somewhat interested.
I’m on a LG C2 and right now I’m using Lilium hdr black lvl fix shader which is fantastic! Had to adjust it of course and using 225 brightness with 1.25 contrast and shader black lvl fix at 80 looks damn good to me! So anyone with a monitor who can’t change the monitor black lvl manually should try Lilium shader!
I find your settings suggestion very useful, I really like the image that is resulting in almost all conditions except for bright daylight in which with your settings I find the resulting colors to be too saturated making the ambient look cartoonish and the skin of my character become somewhat orange instead of light pink as if should be. (I’m using a 42” C2)
Gonna save you guys dome time hopefully! If you're on console and have issues with crushing blacks! How do the pre-rendered cinematics look? The game looks great to me on my AW3423DW but the intro cinematic looks a little washed out and I can really see the compression artifacts. It's too bad because they are amazing cinematics.
@@6stringmonk Yeah I noticed the pre rendered cinematics looked the same although I didn't watch them because I've played through ACT 1 3 times before the game launched but you are correct.
Thank you for that. You got a new subscriber. I hope you one day get to test one of those awesome OLED monitors like the Alienware AW3423DW/F, the Samsung Neo G8 OLED or a similar panel.
At the very least you can fix it so well that you can see the elevated blacks only on OLEDs in pitch black room. That is a plus. 👍 With Cyberpunk, even with mid-tones turned way down the dark scenes look absolutely disgusting. There are some mods and shaders that tried to fix this but their results were noticeable black clipping with checkerboard artifacts in shadows.
Incredibly useful video, as always! Your channel is unique and a great help to any gamer that takes their image settings seriously. I would however recommend that you script your videos more instead of improvising - this video, for example, is very heavy on repetition with a number of points repeated multiple times, and also sometimes you have run-on sentences where you make the point you wanted to make but then you keep talking.
Changing the contrast makes everything darker as expected and this obviously will make a washed out looking game look way less washed out. However, it also will lead to heavy crushing of dark details. You can already see the loss of detail in the bushes of the calibration screen. As soon as you set contrast from 1.00 to 1.25 it gets very hard to see some of the darker details. In the game I could barely make out details on the armor of my character. The details returned after I set contrast back to 1.00. Maybe people prefer the darker image, because they don't like the look af the somewhat washed out image. However, be aware that you will crush dark details more and more, the higher you set contrast. It will also have a huge impact on the colors and basically everything on the screen. It is pretty clear to me that this game only contains bt.709 colors. So the fact the changing the contrast leads to colors that shouldn't be there to begin with, already indicates that you are not using the correct contrast setting. My guess is that this game is simply changing an SDR picture into HDR, just like auto HDR does. This might also be the reason for the washed out look, because auto HDR games have a tendency to look washed out.
@@GamingTech-RUclips I'm using a 65 inch S95B with firmware 1319. Apart from the dark details everything else looks less washed out and it's better in that regard with contrast set to 1.25. However, as soon as I started talking to someone my main characters was way too dark. I'm currently walking around in the mountain pass which is darker than areas before that. I do understand why you might prefer the darker image and maybe it looks different on the G2 for some reason, but the higher you set the contrast value, the more you will start crushing darker details. I also liked the darker image at first, but as soon as I could barely make out any details on my armor it switched back to 1.00. I rather see all the details instead of having a darker image.
@@GamingTech-RUclips Maybe this is interesting to know. There seems to be a difference between HDR in DX11 and in Vulkan mode. For me the first image of the calibration screen starts to clip later in Vulkan mode compared to DX11 mode.

I have quite a different result with my C2. I noticed that if you set the illithid symbol cut back like you have, and the brightness higher at 200, you end up blowing out a lot of the whites, even if your max cll seems proper. my c2's peak brightness is 770, so I calibrate the illithid there using the HDR tool. checking the default brightness and contrast at 100 and 1.00 respectively, you can see that the illithid set at your max cll + the default setting will provide you an accurate max CLL when out of the menus in game (with some flames on screen, or any other max brightness object in game) what you do from here is raise the contrast up by 10, and return to the game by exiting the menus. What about SDR settings? :)
For SDR there is not much to do. Just follow the onscreen instruction . I also liked the picture in sdr with the standard/factory settings
@@GamingTech-RUclips I'm scared of playing it in HDR cause of the hud elements 😅
Baldurs Gate 3 Xbox HDR settings?
Not on my list right now. Was planning to get the collectors edition but was sold out. Not planning to buy the normal version, Sorry. BUT hdr settings should be similar to ps5
@@GamingTech-RUclips but there os no HDR slider in bg3 on xsx. Only brightness and contrast
Same as on the PS5 Version: ruclips.net/video/lSrOQ_Xq6b4/видео.html . Game supports the system level calibration.
That Game 😭😭 Brother Copy right Me Please Remove Copy right Strike🥺🥺🥺🥺🙇🏾🙇🏾🙇🏾
I don't understand. Did you upload my video on your channel?
HgiG doesn't works on this game. In fact you never compared HgiG to Tonemapping Off in your video lol.
HGiG is a TV feature and not a game feature and you can use it in every HDR Game if you like it. Tonemapping Off is in 99% of the time the wrong choice.
How do you get this histogram?
Lilium shaders on pc
S95c isnt remotely better. Samsung are way behind.
It's fake HDR like 99% of all games so what did you expect 😂
I prefer this "fake" HDR over SDR any day 😉
The irony that your video isn't 4k HDR 😛
Here's Baldur's Gate in 4k HDR.

Uploading Game Footage in HDR is simple ;-) Creating a whole Video in HDR is a different story 😉
