Nice video, thanks, but could you make updated video for hdr settings for Bf2042 ps5? Its very hard to set on my s90c. There are bad pattern imo. Just two squares and you need to match similar white color on both. I have read "hdr gamer", they said that one click equals 25 nits, which is around 40 clicks(1000 nits) on my tv. But then pattern is significantly different, grey and dimm. I have set it around 65 now, but when on one map there is good details in white spots around sun, on another map is white crushing. Its very hard to set it properly just by naked eye
When adjusting Highlight boost on my CX 55 I also think there is a little saturation color boost with the adjustments . Check it out and see if you notice it 🤔. Chainscrap village Brown tones and reddish tones seem to get more saturation along with the highlights boost the higher you set it. 🤔
Can someone help me please? I have a samsung 4k hdr tv from a few years ago. I absolutely hate 4k hdr content. Even with all the gamma and brighteness up and contrast to the max, the picture is still washed out looking. There's no hdr "on/off" option on my tv. I was wondering if i bought a 4k roku streaming device, and hooked it up, and selected 4k hdr off, would it still play or "convert" the 4k hdr streams to non-hdr, or would it auto select the 1080p version of the film? I have vudu as a service of purchased movies and was curious. Or even if i got a ps5 and selected it off, woukd i still get the 4k non hdr, or would it force 1080?
Thanks for this. I think on my Bravia 9 XR90 85" A little shadow boost works. It sort of creates deeper contrast and doesn't affect the shadow detail. At least not in that very first starting point of the game. So I boost that to about 2-3 or so. Too bad we couldn't get max luminance of 3,000-4,000 nits. The paper white I keep about 300 so it is brighter but not losing detail in specular highlights. I will boost the highlights because it clearly showed better in your example. Man it looks good on my XR90 though.
I found that on my QD-OLED monitor the standard settings are pretty good (after the patch that is). I experimented a bit, but always went back to the standards. Which is 455 nits of brightness and 236 of paper white. What's more is the game seems to actively check either the monitor capabilities itself or the Windows HDR calibration. Because my monitor is currently set to the "HDR True Black 400" mode, which gives 450 nits peak, and the game automatically sets 455. When I'm ingame and change to the "Peak 1000" mode within the monitors OSD and then reset the HDR settings in the menu to "Standard", it imediately jumps to "1005" for brightness. Still I did not consider the "Highlight Boost" setting and indeed raising this to 5 this makes the HDR pop much more, without raising the overall brightness to a level I'd consider stressfull to the eye during longer sessions. So thanks for your recommendations! :)
The only thing preventing this from being perfect for me is not giving us a separate slider for HUD/UI brightness slider, and opacity. I already have all HUD turned off but sadly they all come on anytime you use focus mode which i wish you can turn off there as well
