They're all veteran pilots, a lot of RAF and Naval Veterans do displays when they retire from the forces. Some of the lucky few get to fly our old girls, such as the Spitfires, AVRO Lancaster and Sally B. I think, you have to clock up a certain amount of flight hours to fly the 75 Hear old planes.
I'd love to see the Thunderbirds in the UK when everything is back to more like normality. They have more of a handful with those front fighter aircraft. Respect to our allies in the USA and happy christmas from the UK!
@Poggers guy that's true , I mean the red arrows Hawk T1 is a training plane , it's light and very nimble but less than half the size of a super hornet , still impressive though.
@@adamgriffin8197 I wasn't suggesting they were better just that with both the Red Arrows and Thunderbirds being air force and also flying single tail single engine jets they look better together.

Just cant help but think wow, ya know the American aircraft is glorious, but for impressive aerial acrobatics the jet the British use is better for the task?
@@jamesgladney exactly because the thunderbirds are literally less than 45cm from each other during high speed maneuvers (up to 1,500 mph) whereas the red arrows are between 30-45 meters (3,000 - 4,500 cm) at speeds up to 645 mph. Absolutely a crushing difference between both of them.

What do you think of those New York City views?

These guys make me so proud to be British.

I've got goose bumps. 🇬🇧
Same with me and the blue angels and thunder birds
Rule Brittania from Scotland
How cool is that seeing our brothers and sisters all flying together ❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧
Sisters? 😅
I grew up idolising the Red Arrows. Long may they continue
Coincidentally, the tv show Thunderbirds actually did an episode based on the Red Arrows.
Well it is a British show, so why not
@@glastonbury4304 it was made into a American film wasn’t it?
@@oceanfive5 ...yes, but still British , like Joe 90, Captain Scarlet, Stingray...👍

Amazing sight to see 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Manhattan island what a glorious beacon for all humanity. That’s my boy! Show em!
I saw these guys at the New York air show. It was great
Red Arrows are sensational. Much respect from this Yankee.
America and The United Kingdom, side by side always and forever

So amazing and breathtaking. Great alies. Thank you. USAF Retired
Love the reds
Why do I cry every time I watch the red arrows🙈
Absolutely breathtaking. Weldone all.
I remember years ago seeing them and putting on an evening reception after one crashed in Lyme Bay
Do you reckon the lucky pilot of Red 5 ever gets sick of saying "Red 5, standing by!". I wouldn't!
Yoooo seeing them all together! major goosebumpage!
Great I love the red arrows! So much guys great.
I'm an American, and even I think the Red Arrows have a way better show then the Blue Angels.

I 100% agree
How so? Genuinely curious, what makes the red arrows the better show?
@@MostlyPennyCat They both are insanely skilled but I think the Red Arrows' stunts look more visually pleasing.

I hope they make this on DVD/Blu Ray too

From the looks of it the redarrows will be going back to America and Canada again next year for another tour during August and September.
