I've heard dozens, if not hundreds, of covers for this song and the keyboard intro and outro really set this one apart. It always makes me feel so at peace.
This is an outstanding rendition!! Very well done and it brings back fond memories of a great movie and a great decade. Wish we could have the 80s again. "Time of your life, huh kid?"
My hobby is to collect original and others interpenetration of the Tangerine Dream "Love on a real train"....This is one of my favorite renditions of their song. Great job Mr. Poorman
@@gpoorman State Azure and this one (yours!) are the two best interpretations in my opinion. Can't rate either one ahead of the other. Thanks for sharing your talent with us
I've been told (and I know), I can be very nitpicky, critical and overall cynical. I've loved this track since Risky Business soundtrack and your cover of it is absolutely awesome and breath-taking. Worth making into an mp3 for sale if you can mister. You should make a Soundcloud page if you don't already have one.
I have the vinyl Risky Business s/t that has the original version of "The Dream is Always the Same". When it was released on CD they added stuff to it which was a mistake.
Great cover. I first heard this when I was 16 and saw Risky Business in the theater. Was blown away by it. Also anyone else notice the Chameleons "Script of the Bridge" cover art on the wall? :D One of the greatest post-punk albums.
Of all the cover of this track on uTube, you're the only one that plays the lead riff (at 3:25) correctly. Everyone else cocks it up. For that I commend you.
dear glenn! very lovely and hear touching verson of td's tune... i would love to use it in my outdoor videos and give full credits to you! greetings from cologne, germany arthur brehm 😉
Fabulous cover ツ My experience with Tangerine Dream goes way back to 1979, however this song set the stage for a whole new TD experience in the early to mid 80's, which was my favorite era for this band, and set the stage for an era of inspiration. Many thanks to Edgar Froese and all the other creative artists who were part of the experience. Enjoyed listening! New sub!
Glenn, this never gets old, season after season since 1984 when I heard this song the first time it has brought the same feelings. I am not going to share too many details but I always get Hope and I keep going, I keep walking forward. Thanks for such a beautiful composition.
One of my all time favs. (Sequenced my own version.) Love hearing everyone's interpretations. Love your opening. It has inspired me to go back to mine and give it a refresher.
Gorgeous!, I love the place this takes me, honestly better than the TD Original. Lucid, haunting, deep meditational bliss. I’ll be driving the count up listening. While I was playing it in the house, my kid kept hugging me. Such sweet space and time. Loved the way it made us feel. Timeless, loved and special.
I'm in 1984, my wife is still alive, and life is awesome. Thank you so much for taking me back... if even in my dreams.
