The photography, the music, THIS particular arrangement of the original music--all are absolutely exquisite, in my opinion! I will be returning to this enchantingly mysterious, mesmerizing ride again, and again, and again! Thanks to all you FABULOUSLY talented artists who put such a mind-blowing, incredibly beautiful thing together!
walter scott monument? There's something magical about the 1980's movie soundtracks! This track reminds me of a recent film - Drive (r.Gosling; Dir - N.Winding Refn). This track reminds me of 1980's Michael Mann films & TV series (Miami Vice) OST for Michael Mann's masterpiece 'Thief' by Tangerine Dream
I've followed and listened to Tangerine Dream since the early 1970s, and I'm nearly gonna say, with all respect, that this version of LOART is as good as the original, there I've said it, beautiful. The mix of the main part of Poland is a bonus, many thanks.
Very elegant approach. Combined risk and perfection while sustaining clear articulation all the way through. The fact that certain elements were not overlooked with the seamless yet unapologetic addition of new ones, while maintaining respect for the raw material, gives a sense of direction and love that adds to the sustainability of this project as something more than a nostalgic tribute. Thank you for sharing your work. Ps. I'm no sound/synth/music expert so my feedback is as humble as it is, and probably the only dissonance here.

Unlike most covers and remixes of this song, you were able to perceive the layer of staccato flutes. I think that this is a vital component of the song and yours comes together magnificently.
A very space version. This version is completely different of my own cover version that i published few mouth ago. I'ts really a good job. Congratulation Simon
This is superb! Tangerine Dream are my favourite band, and LOART is one of top 3 favorite tracks by them. I always cringe at the thought of anybody doing a cover of this track, because the eerie feel of the original is almost impossible to capture. All the covers I had heard up until now were nowhere close to the original, including TD 's own re-recording. But this one by Simon Prince is absolutely spot on. Plus, the way it turns into Poland without you even noticing is absolute genius! Congratulations!

Hi SImon, loved this work and the video, Have been istening to TD since 1979 and remain in my top 5 groups, was a sad day losing EF, but all things must pass. Will be checking your channel for other work, but this was a really good working thanks
Sometimes you can overbake a cake cos you're not happy with it. to me this track is perfection, and you're right u just have to leave it and walk away onto a new project.
Finally!! Finally, the version I have wanted to hear since the first time I saw Risky Business. I thought State Azure had recreated this classic the best but your creation is fucking epic! Thank you from the deepest place in my heart, I love the original but I’d die for this one! You’ve got my sub 👍🏻
It's the very kind comments like these that validate the hours/days/weeks I spend on these cover/reworked versions, and keeps me driven 🤩👍🏻 Greatly appreciated, thank you 😊
Well I got the similarity between the opening "Poland" sequence and "Real Train" instantly, but didn't notice "Tangent" (3rd section) is "Choronzon" sequence backwards - apparently!
Hmmmm what to say about this rendition of a fantastic classic of the brilliant Tangerine Dream.... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Well, before starting it, I had a read of the description and the creators viewpoint, thoughts and processes, because, I DID originally think, "12 minutes" of one track, can often be found to be repetitive and just a bland, boring cut and paste job, or an abysmal abortion of a hashed up version"... (anyone also follow me on this one with this strange fascination of channels offering looped 1, 2 5 and even 10 hours of the ONE track??? Seriously? I think some people have just lost the plot hahaha). However, for those special tracks we love, that are modernised, 'tweaked' and beautifully mixed, with actual skill I may add, then it just makes the listening experience/pleasure better full stop. And so... I hit - Play... Twelve minutes later.... Hahahaha... You guessed it... It's time for another Twelve minutes before I move onto another favourite of mine. I was/still am, in love with the original. I have encountered some covers that hold true to the original with just the tiny subtle players feel. This. Is just sublime. Just the right length, the mix of the two tracks, come together in the most unnoticeable way (makes it sound even more like its 'OG' Tangerine Dream's own mix). Oh, and that gentle thud of LOW bass, gives it more presence... On my good HiFi (or with my Good Headphones, the soundstage, the clarity, the feel, is just...... Fulfilling).... Bravo.... FAN-TAS-TIC WORK!!!! 😁😎🇬🇧 PS - RE: 'Ageing' ears comment.... on my 25 Year old (but still perfectly working with no crackles/hisses etc) Technics SU-600 driving 4 x good quality speakers.... As mentioned.... You got the sound staging right, the balance from low to highs, full, rich, detailed, and clear. I am chuffed i'm not having to get up to adjust the dials on this NON remote Amp hahaha.... However... Check out "Tangerine Dream - White Eagle 2016" uploaded by YT's PROPHET V. You'll note that, although in its own right it's a brilliant version of that excellet track, but... alas... Way TOO bright and not as full and rich as it should be (i.e. I have to hit the 'Loudness' button to bring a 'fuller' more balanced sound to it.... Shame that)... Anyway, all the best to you and yours fella.
Wow 😊 Thanks. This is fantastic feedback. Exactly the sort of feedback I need to continue making these cover versions and to know I am getting it mostly right from a mix perspective. It's such a learning curve picking these originals apart. I've a couple of tweaks in mind here and there, mainly on the 'Poland' (3rd part) percussion, but nothing overly significant to warrant republishing a RUclips version. I'll keep any updates/re-recordings just for my website. Many Thanks Again 😊👍
@@skyhopper You sir, are very welcome... To basically personalise, extend and entwine two brilliant pieces, but keeping as faithful to the originals in the way you've done here fella.... I guess, Even Edgar and co, would smile at the respect and care given to this rendition..... 😎🇬🇧
Back for play 3.... And, an apology. (Don't worry, no need to reply haha) The visuals...... Yeah... On point to... (haha how can I not comment on that!) Beautiful visuals of just the basic tram style to the high tech sleek Shinkansen bullet train.... Combined....? Audio and Visually stunning!! Anyway, that's enough praise ye gonna get from me... Hahaha When I get a chance will be checking the rest of your work... Oh and briefly? Yyou and I might have to share a little chat of perfect original gems like the one that you based this off, and..... (I notice from your channel list)... Another AB-SO-LUTE fave of mine...... JMJ's Equinoxe 7 (though Pts 4 to 6 leading to the mighty 7!).... Dammmmmnn! If, you, do.... to JMJ EQ 7 as you have done to this TD LOART.... I suspect it'll be another time for a satisfying mind melting eargasm! hahaha 🤣🤣🤣😎🇬🇧
7:33 when the bass line kicks in is a little too deep and loud IMO; try a bit of EQ -1 or -2 db in the lower freq and a bit higher in the mid to high freq like also +1 to +2 db might reduce boominess and add a bit of harmonics to the bass while keeping the overall amplitude about the same. On the whole it's well done, nice work. Don't take my word too seriously though as my headphone is a very inexpensive one and a little bass heavy also.
Sorry for the late reply. That's good advice. I shall definitely take that into account when I get around to mastering it. Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated 👍
Is this version on Apple Music??? Also, this song is so cinematic and aesthetic and the train scene in Risky Business was the hottest scene I’ve ever seen!!!
Really? I used the 'Tap Tempo' phone app to ensure I got the right tempo. Seemed to be spot on 112BPM for the original 'Love On A Real Train' (on the Dream Sequence CD) 🤔
Your use of software stabilization ruined the video. Also, you use the same clips again and again. Maybe if you used the same clips for the similar parts of the mix it would make artistic sense. Also, the clip with a train on the overpass and a jogger on the walkway looks jarring - maybe you could split the frame horizontally, speed up the top part with the train, but leave the jogger at normal speed.
The video for this cover version was purely an after thought, quickly cobbled together from a library of footage to get the track out there. Yes indeed, I simply speeded up the video for the last part of the track. I love your suggestion of the horizontal split screen for the jogger, I wish I had thought of that during my hasty edit 😃 Thanks for the feedback 👍
