That live concert version is absolutely, absolutely incredible. The best parts of the original version with unparalleled new sound. Cooking in my new house & listening to it - what an amazing feeling.
I just wanna get lost in thoughts listening to that song. It's such a great feeling you get when you combine a melody, with personal desires, dreams, or even experiences you've had and felt.
Certainly the minimalist school that concentrated on rhythm rather than melody would have been influential. Philip Glass/Terry Riley? The repeated cycling of notes, that was the forte of the sequencer, would have come into its own. I suspect minimalists were actually playing repeated riffs or using tape loops before that. ruclips.net/video/hy3W-3HPMWg/видео.html
Saw them perform this just last night. Wonderful show, was really hoping they would play this. If they'd had the guitar solo, it would have been the cherry on top of an amazing evening!
Years ago I did an upload of the movie version with the Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay train ride scene, but RUclips thought that it was too adult and removed it ☹
Came to know about this gem from the movie The Babysitter : Killer Queen . In love with this ever since . Thanx for this. It is One of if not the Greatest song/melody ever.
I just wanna get lost in thoughts listening to that song. It's such a great feeling you get when you combine a melody, with personal desires, dreams, or even experiences you've had and felt.
. "When the path ignites the soul, there's no remaining in place." Love on a real train from "Risky Business" takes me places no other song does, it epitomises what the 80's was all about, it takes me back to a simpler magical time. This Is a fantastic version of a truly inspiring song. Well done.
A truly awesome rework, but what really makes it for me is the guitar work 5 minutes in. The hard rock theme really gives the track some extra bite! So much so I have that guitar extract on a repeat loop! Just wish both it and the track as a whole was much much longer. Good work anyway!
Mysteries are still hidden somewhere , i know it you can feel it ,something other than the weird feeling of being in public and what it does involve in the psychology of the ego , everywhere lies relics of the past because the present moment is already passed as you read this comment so , everyday there’s something new under the sun , something unexplored, undone and unseen , something to bring back into the community , the dreamers of this world will be rewarded for their courage.
Joel, you wanna know something? Every now and then say, "What the fuck." "What the fuck" gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future.
yes! i had heard from someone that hard work plus opportunity = luck. that person was Oprah Winfrey way-back in the day. she 'got it', understood it & also back when, -an aside-...before she had promised, on stage by herself/solo on stage, that she would never support Politics on her show. i liked her back then. i went to a taping. a boring episode, but i only watched the techs- lighting, cameras,.. anyway. 🤓

Hey Stefan, a big shout-out to you 'cause this very song is featured in the recently-released Netflix movie, Bandersnatch whose protagonist is ironically your fictional namesake, 'Stefan Butler'. And you should definitely check out the scene where this music is played and your namesake, Stefan gets all trippy! The scene is beauty at its best!
One of the greatest tunes ever made. That melody is life.
No one can explain it better, there’s beauty and something of life’s mystery in it

Has this soundtrack used in any movies?? It's absolutely fabulous and I do not think I've heard this before.

This is still so beautifully dreamy in 2018.So ahead of it's time in '83.
Just been explaining to those who think Chicane did it first, that 'offshore' owes its allegiance to this.
@@templarseries and TD owe Steve Reich as it's largely based on his Music For 18 Musicians - still brilliant though

The future was yesterday
Yes it was. It makes what Kraftwerk we’re doing in the early 70s even more incredible. Truly groundbreaking.
Man this is the most magical train ride to Amsterdam CS ever! Fits the song perfect!

Eternal peace Edgar. Tangerine Dream are immense and this, for me, tops the lot ❤️
Part techno and part meditative chant, this is my favorite song of all. I have all versions. This one, with its trippy guitar solo, is sublime.
I remember going to see this movie with my mum. Never forget this opening music, began a longstanding love of tangerine dream x

Trance in its finest. A state of pleasure in trance. A place every man would be In if they played this all over the globe even just once
Thank you for not putting ADs in.
