The Master of the Telecaster, a top Blues guitarist, unable to copycat, which is by itself insane due to his unique technique, admired and loved by his famous top blues colleagues BB King, SRV, and Buddy Guy. Besides he was a modest lovable person always kind to everybody. RIP we miss you, Albert Collins
Mr. Collins stands out as One of the best blues players ever. He and his men show blues-playing in its purest form in "If money was trouble".The saxophonist is priceless.on this tune. But Mr, Collins nails it to the wall with his pulsating bassist timely kicking in the background.
The sax player Abb Locke has left us. He was a good friend of mine. I got to meet and hang out with Albert and Johnny Gayden a few times between sets. That whole band was cool. Great bunch of guys.
I saw Albert headline the Juneteenth Blues Festival in Houston around this time in the mid 80's. He opened with Listen Here & didn't let off the gas the whole night. One of the best showman to ever set foot on a stage.
I saw and met the man in Vancouver, BC, Canada in early Dec, 1985. Got to meet chat and buy him a whiskey. What a great show too! Met and smoked a joint with a good friend and Albert s bass player was in the can and asked me for a hoot. Very excellent evening it was. R.I.P. Albert.
A proper blues and funk combo. This was a track on me and my brother’s road trip to the Isle of Man before we hit the roads there. No speed limits on the roads there outside of towns and villages.
I'm very fortunate to have seen Albert and band about 10 X mid late 80s to early 90s. I was very fortunate to take a Blues Cruise around the island of Manhattan with about a hundred of us lucky people and Albert and band. Under the Brooklyn Bridge up to the Statue of Liberty it doesn't really get better than that I'm telling you right now. Haven't thought about it in a while but watching these videos reminds me of all the greatness. I was at Carnegie Hall for his concert and at the after-party in New York City for an All-Star Jam. I cherish these X getting very close to him. Got to tell him I love him
Albert Gene Drewery, known as Albert Collins and The Ice Man (October 1, 1932 - November 24, 1993) RIP. Band members : Albert Collins (guitar, vocals) Abb Locke (sax) Gabe Flemmons (trumpet) Leon Blue (keyboards) Rob Knowles (guitar) Johnny B. Gayden (bass) Casey Jones - Drums
#ugottalisten2b4udie (there'll never be this level of intimacy again) Albert Gene Drewery, known as Albert Collins and the Ice Man (October 1, 1932 - November 24, 1993) In 1964 he recorded "Frosty" at Gulf Coast Recording Studio in Beaumont Texas for Hall Records, owned by Bill Hall, who had signed Collins wiki
saw the icebreakers this same year in richmond va..that day he had played with george thorogood at live aid and they were absolutely incredible...been a giant fan ever since RIP
Brilliant, I love the tone of the rythm guitar in the backround played by rob Noll I think, its like a jazz guitar sound, but what is the technical term for that tone?
iN THE '80'S, AND EARLY '90'S, we had a wonderful scam in North America. It was called the record club. You would order 6 CD's, for 5 bucks. The next 2 would be required, and at full price. 8.99. Than you'd "select" 4 free! Clever subscribers saved the older album #'s, and slowly built a collection. 12 albums, on CD, for a buck each!. Than, you'd start a new membership............and the beat went on. Before these BMG and Columbia clubs went the way of the dodo, they yielded hundreds of discs, to any clever bastard...
Ce qui m'éclate chez Albert Collins c'est sa symbiose avec sa guitare. Il en refait exactement le son avec sa voix, j'ai vu et écouté ça qu'avec lui. (et peut-être JGW) ? En tout cas merci de la mise en ligne
Dammit I wish Albert was still alive!

The whole outfit is just right. What a great sound they make The great Casey Jones on drums. Of course the shining star here is Albert.
Now here’s a my idea of what a guitar player is Albert Collins is the shit. Love that guitar.

F****** bloody brilliant
WELL FUCKIN SAID!
NO BETTER MUSIC TODAY!!!!
The "razorblade man" because he cuts deep into your soul. The master of the Telecaster.
Albert✌ you are the best👍💯 when it comes to Blues/Jazz🎶.
Albert says "it's nothing but the blues". To me, there's some funk in there. If your feet don't tap to this, then you ain't got rhythm 🙂

Ab Lock is the best Blues Sax I have heard !
Not as good as the late A C Reed, though.
A proper blues and funk combo. This was a track on me and my brother’s road trip to the Isle of Man before we hit the roads there. No speed limits on the roads there outside of towns and villages.

11:02 no neck binding = at least '58 but rumoured to be possibly a '57 ( LPF / Other Gibsons.)
Casey Jones is a rhythm engine

On 9:59 min you can see the clock of the saxofonist, it was 2:55 AM, can it be possible?
Most definitely. Clubs in music city's like Austin had last call at certain venues at 3:30am.
thats not his normal rig... i was wondering why it wasnt his normal sound... in this hes using a silverface twin instead of his quad
Oh, that haircut at 10:40 :)
