Loved part one and two! Great stuff Matt!!!
Excellent system. Thank you for sharing this video.
Awesome setup
My DRS Pro showed up yesterday and what a Gorgeous rifle! Super comfortable! Got my scope mounted and weather permitting going out asap!
Hi Matt,
I liked the video and appreciated your showing us how you went about tuning the DRS. I do have a bit of an issue with the last part of the video. Starting at 22:46 you show how you used the FX True Ballistics Chrony to determine the BC's for your particular conditions. The only problem with that approach is that the velocities that the TB Chrony gives you at the specified distances are CALCULATED velocities, not MEASURED velocities. I found that out when I shot my .22 Crown and set up the chrony to give me velocities at 10, 20, 30, and 40 yds. The TB did that, even though the pellet struck the target at 30 yds and went no further. Kind of hard to measure something that isn't there.
One of the developers of the App for the TB Chrony is a member of the Air Gun Nation and I had a conversation with him. He said that the app uses the best velocity info it can get out of the data it collects, sampling at something like 1 Mhz. From that it calculates the BC. Then using the BC info it calculates the velocities at the specified distances. So your procedure should just get back the BC calculated by the TB Chrono.
As you are much closer to the folks at FX you likely have better info than I do. So please let me know if I am incorrect and I will happily take back my concerns.
Cheers
Just got the email from the local shop that it has arrived!!! The classic walnut 700 in .22 , cant wait to pick it up this saturday!
I personally enjoyed these two videos Matt.
I have a Panthera in 12ft.lbs. here in the UK.and love it.
However, I like the look of this DRS PRo too and love the fact that there is no bottle on show. I don’t like bottles. and I shall be looking out for this new gun when they are available here in the UK.
Think the pro is FAC only.
Excelente video como siempre 👍👏👊👌🧉🇦🇷 saludos 👍
Thanks matt ❤
I've been dreaming for years of an air rifle with a true chassis target stock, and now it's a reality. Then I saw the price 🤯
Great video though, love this series, so interesting.
thanks
for calculating BC data The lab radar is better in my opinion. I returned my FX true ballistics radar. The lab radar while not as user friendly, it actually records the raw radar data to the SD card on board. that means you can see every return signal received by the radar. so instead on of the 4 or 5 way point readings, you get the whole picture. You can actually see where the projectile hit the target. On a avg. 50 yard shot you get around 85 radar returns or a reading every 2.2 feet. when i got the FX radar not only is there no raw data available you can set way point past the target and some how still get velocities. This leads me to be leave that the 300 yard range is not quite true and its using its "BC" function to fill in the gaps. with either radar you still have to calculate BC the proper way as you showed. Been a fan for a long time i just was bummed out with that FX radar. It triggers better and does a lot of thing better then the lab radar except the actual radar stuff. Paying that much more for less radar function rubbed my the wrong way. If FX added a SD card to capture the raw data in a .csv file in a v2 version I would buy it again. In my opinion for $900 it needs to do what the LBR does + the quality of life improvements that it currently has.
Amazing stock ever i see in my live..awezome
Nice video
Matt , have you shot the Classic in lower power. I managed to get a 12ftlb one here in England and love it. Very informative couple of videos. Cheers.
On the hammer spring screw, instead of using locktight which we all know how that turned out in the stream line. Maybe use another longer screw behind it, and when in the stock, the stock would keep pressure on them both and in place
Dear Matt,
thank you for the fascinating explanation of the technical details regarding airgunning. the question I have is the following, what is the sweat spot to set hammer spring tension,on the high pressure side of the curve or the low pressure side? And what gives the most consistency in velocity?
Great video! This setup doesn't appeal to me but it's nice to see innovation. Looking forward to the FX Impact M4 with the Panthera style pressured barrel system.
any idea on when there gonna be coming out with the m4 mate?
No other design can beat the design of the FX Impact models
It's a hope for a lot of people like me if we can fix some of the flaws
1. POI shift
2. Ease of tunability
3. Seal failures
If FX can fix the above issues, no other gun will come close to this Gun!
I have been real busy with work.. so i havent shot in over a year...
My Panthera.. flat... my Benjamin bulldog and Marauder.. flat... my impact m3? Holding strong where i left it...
I also find it the easiest to tune due to the extra points of tun-ability and ability to refine every part of the firing action..
POI shift isnt real imho. I mean sure.... you drop the rifle... or subject it to a little more than a typical bump.. you can have the poi shift. But they dont just magically shift like people act like.
I didn't laugh at you but the thought instantly pops into your head. Thanks for putting that controversy to rest.
Brilliant as always 👌🏽

This weekend I had the opportunity to enjoy with Panthera & IMPACT. IMPACT is better in my opinion&xperience
I love DRS classic 700mm Sniper wish i could test it soon
Hi Brother, I remember you did the Air ventury review that was brilliant. Would love if you make a follow-up video on the new Avenge X .22 . Any chance or should I keep my hopes high? Blessings
Hi Matt, thanks for the great guide on how to tune the DRS PRO. I have bought the .177 version in 700mm and would like your input on what velocity I should aim for with 20gr slugs? 11:25 Gerhard ran 160bar and 850FPS out of his 600mm King in one of his videos of the .177 20gr H&N.
Thanks!
Matt what do u think of the western sidewinder? For long term hold up etc. Also the Brocock ghost? I love my Fx guns. But just picked up the western sidewinder in 30 cal and the Brocock ghost with Al Three barrels for diff calibers
we have identical results. i really thought that minus 5-10fps of your peak regulator output gives me better results and also gives me more air efficient. when I shoot it at 40yrds it gives me very good groupings. however when i shoot it at 100yrds the results are bad. so i turned my hammer spring up to the peak of regulator output and it gives me sub moa group almost all the time i shoot it.
Surely, the brake's main value is in stripping turbulent air from the projectile path as it leaves the muzzle? The fact that it reduces recoil is a small plus, that matters more, if you have a video camera attached to the scope. Else, hardly at all. I say this, because most of the recoil is from the air jetting out of the muzzle, after the projectile has left. Not while it is still in the barrel.

Show 👏👏👍👍👊🇧🇷
When are they available Matt.
The DRS Pro feels like a scam to me. The Chassi should have been the same price as the ACC Elite Chassis System that is what's it's based on and 99.9% similar and not almost $1000 more expensive. You can buy the DRS 700 Synthetic AND the ACC Elite Chassis System for around $2600 whilst just the DRS Pro is $2900. The rifle is about $500 overpriced and should have been between $2200-2400 for the DRS Pro.
But creating a "new" chassi is expensive!
Then they should have just made the rifle fit the basic chassi by default, then they could have sold the rifle for less than $2000.
I don’t know enough about it, but if you’re right, that is really stupid. And my guess is they are doing it so it doesn’t negatively affect sales if there are other air rifles maybe?
so you need to degass the gun and remove the gauge on the plenum, just to get the gun in the stock????
Matt? So, you're toping off after every stage? What size air fill tank are you using to top off with? Also, how many fills are you getting with your fill tank?
Thanks
Hi, I'd like to ask you a simple question about the trigger!
Is the Match Grade Trigger DRS already installed on the DRS PRO MDT or is it sold separately ?
Matt, can i ask how you measured your velocity at different ranges? Did you place the chronograph at those ranges and shoot past them?
Do you video you compertitions? Do you have a channel with that on?
which model is your muzzle brake matt?
I would also like to know where is your air feed?Is it in the chassie?I don't see a bottle or a hose and was wondering where the air supply is coming from
The air is stored in the barrel shroud, filled via a probe
Nice! Great for PRS I guess in this setup. But is there much PRS going on outside the United States or South Africa? It sure isn't in Holland!
Just wondering how this rifle's going to outclass Pantera's in benchrest, or long range shooting. Or M3's for that matter.
Or even my Wildcat BT Compact 500 mm barrel shooting 25 grain slugs @ 975 fps and hitting a 3 inch target @ 200 meters at least 8 out of 10 times.
Since the Classic versions don't come with a bipod rail of any kind, setting one up for a bipod requires drilling holes in the stock, or having that done at your retailer's.
For long range shooting with heavier slugs you would like to have the larger plenum.
For consistency, you would like to have a manometer on your plenum.
Which will have to come off if you take the action out of the stock.
Which means degassing the gun.... etc etc.
There's quite a few Pantera owners at both my airgun clubs. M3 owners as well. All of them are questioning how owning a DRS is going to improve their airgunning experience. Nobody has ordered one so far. For me, that says something.
Yes, there is plenty of PRS all over the world
Those groups are super disappointing. Love FX, have been waiting on the design for decades and cent describe how excited I was when it was announced, but man that is a bummer out of a $3k rifle.
@Matt - Use Blue Loctite and NEVER WORRY!
What model of muzzle brake do you have?
In my opinion, I don't like it if the design of an air rifle is similar to a firearm, because for me the character of an air rifle is important and no one will misunderstand when they see me carrying it while hunting.
Yes for me also I don't recommend pcp air gun similar looks as firearms..but I rlly love fx drs classic
@@OrcA-707 i love the design too, but only in firearm category. for me i would bring a fx impact M3 and bring another nosler 21
Is there a chassis available for the Hatsan brand of airguns? I have a bullpup model, and I would love to throw the stock in my garbage can!!!
No advantage you are able to adjust the hammer spring nut from the outside. It is so loose that after a few shots it twisted itself. It's a shame that FX hasn't found a better locking mechanism for this yet. I would be happy if FX included a second nut that can be used as a counter, at least when the 'neck' is turned away from the nut with lathe. Ridiculously little thread on this nut, just the same as years ago with my BOSS.
Would really like a solid barrel to retro fit to my M3, I'm sure they'd sell a few if they were available !.
They will be available soon as far as I can tell
@@AirArmsHuntingSA Great news, can't wait, thanks !
How many shots can be fired after filling it once?
Matt, some info please- im looking at FX FAC and although the drs sounds great which FX fac would you advice in shooting foxes/rabbits and birds for pest control thanks. Bob UK
I'm in the same situation..I'm thinking the king due to it's adjustability
Gett yourself a gamo, your sub 12 so doesn't matter if you have a $1000+ rifle because it's still shooting at the same power. Why you wanna spend all that when you can get a $200 rifle that has the same power
He said fac not sub12. Gamo?! Get real dude 😂
@@gigolocan8914 just trolling 😂 get real dude
Who makes that muzzle break?
Is this ambidextrous? Ima lefty and would love to have one
Why did it only make 37 ft lbs ?
RAPTOR MUZZLE BRAKE 1/2X20 ?
Yup!
That's LDT system
i see lot of parts from dreamline
boleh kah saya memiliki nya ,, tanpa membeli, soalnya saya enggak punya uang untuk membeli unit secantik ini😊
I just dont get this air gun. There are people who buy it because its a new design. Its low power for FAC.I would not shoot anything more than 50 yards with thisAnd that is calm day.Its shot count is also very low. They should have made the air cylinder .its hard to explain.but imagine 2 circles joind together one on top with straight lines either side, then remove the lines inside. The bottom part of air cylinder 45 degree sloped in so as this part slots in stock. This will also allow for bigger shaped plenum and more power.
For 3k, it should shoot a lot better. My hatsan bt65 shoots better. It looks cool but that's it. Very disappointing
lol no it doesn’t
Just go to the RMAC 100 Benchrest with your Hatsan and let's see your results 😉
@@jorgemacchiavello9988 honestly the hatsan is more than likely working flawlessly unlike this DRS it all over the place can't even hold groups out the box, for being an almost 4k rifle that's very disappointing.
@@jorgemacchiavello9988 why you have to be like all the other fools with that RMAC line " RMAC benchrest. That's doesn't prove anything. 😂 Youve most likely never even been to one, you just read the other comments matt and others have put on here.
Isn't it dangerous to make your air rifle look like the real thing?
First off you use these in a designated area not just anywhere, not like you walk around with this, not made for shooting in your backyard either. And the owner should know better and have proper gun safety knowledge.
Whole DRS seriers is mistake...dont see any ponit to get one..much ..cost more then impact and to increase reg pres up ..need to the stock out... hammer spring ..?!?!..really dont see the point to purchase one.
Whole idea to put it againt rimfire is pointles if someone need a rimfire just get one..
Fx made drs and try very hard to sell whole story behind it..
(Hey Mate, will we ever see Ar type Mags for PCP guns? And onboard mini compressors). Does any manufacturer want to develop my new USB powered HHO gun concept? Ive discovered how to produce HHO with only 0.3V per neutral plate, That means plenty of explosive HHO gas in a tiny tiny low volt package, I suggest a small HHO reserve tank with no more than 5-10 psi, that injects regulated amounts for shot consistency, with E-trigger, Spark plug type or lighter ignition. My HHO Gen only needs 5-5.5Vdc usb, and with flexible solar panels on or off the gun.will always have reserve shots. A truly off grid high quality gun like this with eg. AR part compatible needs to exist. Imagine not needing a compressor ever again, anyone can charge a battery, melt lead, access to a bit of water right? PM me if interested!
Just Another overrated FX air rifle
lol you have obviously never shot one
😂😂
Im sure your over exaggerating this saying its the best gun youve used for that type of shooting, you know damn right the Panthera or the King are way better, all it is, is a Dreamline in a chassis. This was all hype and you know it.
Definitely not impressed, proved me right all these rifles are just hype. 😂 No thank you, can keep your $4000 dollar piece of junk , ill take the chassis tho. My $300 dollar modified gauntlet 1 in .25 cal shoots the same 😂
Sounds like you need to go to some comps and show it off
@@robertmuir734 most definitely! All tho I know your being sarcastic you would be very surprised at what these things are capable up when tuning the barrel for slugs and power modding them, definitely keep up 👌 just everyone these days would laugh at someone showing up with one to a comp, these days you need to have a $1000+ rifle to not be laughed at 😂
@@Leadslinger619 not sarcastic, maybe a light call out, but if it's as good as you say then show that sucker off!
Please do me a favour and sign up for RMAC! Please pretty please😄 I want to see your gauntlet shoot in 15mph winds at 250 yards.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA 15mph winds 😂 that's a joke, dealt with worse, and using heavy slugs, no issues bud.
Is FX filing bankruptcy with all the financial problems they have in the closure of f(x) USA. Anyone thinking of buying one of those guns has the right to know what is going on with that company.
Keep whining Jamie!🤡🤡
