20:36 "I legitimately thought I chose the Bad Ending." You did. Defeating Gehrman did release him of that terrible nightmare of his, being trapped forever in The Dream, letting some leave and having to bury others, but now that Gehrman has been relieved of his duty to watch over The Dream for The Great Ones and The Moon Presence, someone must take his place in the chair: You. You assume the rank that Gehrman once had, watching over The Dream before finally being relieved yourself by another Hunter. The other Bad Ending is letting Gehrman release you from The Dream and returning to The Real World. The ground you walk on is very real, the air you breath too is very real, and dawn you face as you awake is very real, yet so too is The Nightmare that shall come after The Dawn. Yharnam will inevitably be plunged back into The Nightmare, making beasts and Hunters of men alike. You will be one of those Hunters, as you were once before, so too will you inevitably be again, as it was predicted and even decided upon by The Great Ones themselves. The True Ending is that you defy Gehrman as done before, but having consumed The Three Thirds of The Umbilical Cords beforehand. Doing so will allow you to defy even The Moon Presence itself, placing yourself above The Great Ones and even The Moon Presence itself. Slaying The Moon Presence shall allow you to ascend to a sort of Godhood, if you will, turning your mortal form into that of an infant Great One. Having usurped all The Great Ones, The Moon Presence and even The Dream itself, you unmake The Dream, rewriting history in the way you deem fit. But, as all things are, you shall, inevitably, begin to reminisce. Of the days gone by. Of your time as a Hunter. Of The Dream. Of Gehrman. Of The Dream. Of The Great Ones. Of The Moon Presence. Of the Blood, and how it sang to you. You will pine for those days once more, and make your reality of the one you usurped long before. You will repeat your same decisions, good and bad, but will do so willingly and consciously, fully aware you are repeating what has already happened. But maybe this time, you'll do something different. Try something new. Go somewhere you haven't. You may look to the future with your eyes truly open. Only then are you truly free. But you must never forget your past. For we are born of the blood, made men of the blood, undone by the blood. Fear The Old Blood.
It’s not deep but a very interesting and pretty poetic way of explaining each ending Instead of saying Endings 1. Kill gherman, watch the dream 2. Get killed by gherman 3. Become a god
When the ad interrupts the gag about said ad. Also, Paarl was absolutely a pain in the ass roadblock for me, until he finally pissed me off one time and I finally learned what the game was trying to teach me; aggressive people get what they want.
Legit the only boss I died to more than 6 times in my first playthrough. Mostly because I was level 15 and couldn't do enough damage to break his legs quickly. Even Orphan and Lawrence killed me fewer times. Also, the Chalice Dungeon version is SUPER ANNOYING because somehow the game's camera is EVEN WORSE for that one.
Go under with a big long ranged weapon and aim for the limbs. Back out or if you're good enough at timing roll through the aoe electric attack. Don't lock on.
When I was playing Bloodborne with some friends we used Paarl as a measurement of our characters' growth. It kicked our asses the first time we fought it but when we came back several hours later Paarl didn't have a chance

She's my favourite in the lore department and the reason I like vile bloods and cainhurst castle..
I fought Ludwig on my mission to HAVE his weapon as early in the game as possible...I took him down at level 30 with a +6 cleaver...the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Alucard Dracula I did it with what I had at the time...only like 1 ability wouldn’t 1 shot me...so don’t meh me for doing what I did with more dmg in a run specifically meant for it. Bet you burned him fast. Now tussle with him for 5-10 min because you do ass dmg. Then talk to me. (Oh and just to fact check I looked at my footage...was lvl 24 with a +4)
I think Gascoigne is one of the best and most well thought bosses in Videogames history. Not only has a variety of phases that makes you adapt to them, thus teaching you how to fight some future enemies. But it also tells you the saddest story on Bb and teaches you how does the curse work right before your eyes. In a game where lore is not right in your face all the time, this is the closest thing to a cinematic scene
Agreed. One of the best introductory bosses in the series. Complete with optional item thats hard to find to make him easier, while also breaking your heart in the process
@@alzhanvoid I ser your point, however with Amelia we just see a girl, blood and the wolf. With Gascoigne we see him slowly loosing himself to the curse until becoming the beast. Amelia shows us only half of the curse IMO
13:36 You could also include the music box method to cheesing Father Gang-Sign. It's in no way essential but it's definitely the first real reward for exploring (unless you include finding the "madman's knowledge" in central yarnham to unlock the doll/level ups before encountering any bosses)
It's not really a cheese at best it will just skip one phase to his fight so it's best to save until the very end with the crazy wolf phase It's still engaging no matter when you use the music box
Moon Presence AKA Flora is one of my favourite bosses. She’s tough and has her gimmicks that will decimate an inexperienced player (which anyone who’s gotten to her really shouldn’t be at that point) and anyone that struggles against the beast playstyle will likely get splattered across the garden, but to an experienced Hunter she’s a lot easier of a fight. The game even goes so far as to actually make your character stronger for her fight by making her glare not instant kill you. If you’ve ever watched Garden of Eyes Boss VS Boss videos, you can see just how ridiculously strong she truly is against anyone that isn’t the newly Ascended Player, and I think that just heightened my appreciation of her. She’s a God, sure, but the Gods don’t need to fight, so she doesn’t really know how and it shows. She just uses her Godly powers to fucking smite things that piss her off like a Mage build in Elden Ring using Comet Azur. Your character is *now a God* but has experience fighting Gods and, as a result, can turn her Kyuubi looking ass into paste while also resisting her attacks. You are the boss now, and that’s just so cool I love her more for it.
Rusty: amygdala's fight is easy and goes fast.... Chalice dungeon amyg: hold ma health par... Also Rusty: paarl is fun to do and not that hard... Chalice dungeons paarl: hold ma camera...
Paarl is *SO* freaking annoying in the Chalice Dungeons. Hardest boss in the game in the game IMO (not counting NG+ cycles). What a mess of a fight! Fast and unpredictable, hard to hit beacuse its legs are so skinny, camera movement is pure chaos, and many of its moves can 1-shot you if you mess up your dodging and get the counter-hit damage multiplier, not to mention the BS projectiles it gains on its basic attacks during phase 2. I've beaten this game more than 12 times now and I still dread fighting this thing. Many bosses (Laurence being a prime example) used to completely destroy me, but now I can usually beat them on my first few tries, only getting hit more than 4-5 times in many cases. With Chalice Paarl on the other hand... each time I beat it just feels like I got lucky for it not abusing its outrageous mobility, and it really sucks.... If a remaster ever happens, they need to fix the camera and make its legs easier to hit, that would go a long way to make the fight actually enjoyable since this boss looks really cool aesthetically, it really deserves better.
@@eldritchtoilets210 I 100% agree (I hate fighting Laurance and paarl) like even with my overpowered character I struggle with them I'm at NG+40 I think and paarl has around 30k HP and Laurance has about 50k
Loran Darkbeast is definitely one of the hardest Fromsoft bosses, but man is it fun to fight. Defiled Amygdala though is harder than any other Fromsoft boss imo, and thats including the Sekiro bosses.
What I like about him is that he actually has a similar attack style to the orphan of Kos. At the start he is just as aggressive and the learning curve is about the same. Dodge or parry his attack, get a hit in or two, back step repeat until he transforms to his bigger oh crap form.
Well if you constantly attack him in his second phase he will backstep while holding the longaxe in one of his hands and shoots with the blunderbuss with his other anyways there should be a odd against a boss or else it wouldn't be a boss at all
The trick is just kill all the little spiders each phase, its super easy but just really tedious. Although you don't need to kill all of them in the final phase and you can still beat her pretty easily.
It took me so long to figure that out. It was pure hell until it finally clicked for me. He's simple now, but god the pain was immeasurable before that revelation.
@@StudlyFudd13 I didn't use it much either because it uses hella bllodbullets. the bloodstarved beast was pretty much the only time I used it to any effect, and even then I may be misremembering it as being more effective than it was, since this was years ago. it was super useful in the fight cuz I could maintain range that made it easy to manage his poison aoe and his normal attacks. I think I used the majority of my blood vials for blood bullets in the fight. my build at the time was pretty much just me upgrading stats so I could use whatever gear I thought looked cool. prolly wouldn't be hard to have more arcane than I did.
I always liked to think that the Moon Presence was supposed to be an easy boss because you used the umbilical cords and gained enough insight to resist it
I disagree with you on a few of these but what you said about Paarl is dead on. You either discover him early and get dunked, or late and dunk him. Very few examples of the middle on that. Also dont use a beast blood pellet against Lawrence. You take extra fire damage.
@@strikemasterice2004 It legitimately MAKES you a beast, just like equipping the "Milkwood" rune will make you a kin and therefore weak to pierce. My buddy used to play PVP and mained to Blade Of Mercy. Fucker one shotted a poor dude.

And in the gameplay he kept using beastblood pellets against Lawrence, who uses fire damage, which as a beast you have a negative defence to? I'm confused as to where I missed a joke.
Even the times I fought Paarl early were manageable. It was when I fought him with respect and *only* went for the head that he became one of my hardest fights.
Good for you i finally beat every boss in the game even the optional ones except Gehrman and Moon Presence but it’s because i want to play The Old Hunters before finishing the game.
To avoid legless Lawrence floor slapping attack: stay on his left while leaving some room for the fire splash and keeping moving left to his right. When his floor slapping stops feel free to hit him a bit, also if you have a long enough weapon you can poke him while he is slapping.
I had a harder time fighting lawrence on his first phase. He was the only boss that took me like 6 tries to beat. Everypne else I either beat first time or beat on my 2nd-3rd run. Fuck Lawrebce
@@strawhatmucci7086 yep, bloodborne is different from most of the main souls series but I also played Nioh and Nioh 2 which shares a lot of similarities with bloodborne. Like ludwig and Orphan of Kos
I fully believe that Ludwig is the greatest boss fight ever created in any game, it’s so fun and challenging and the music alone is incredible enough to stun me into silence
I honestly love the Bloodstarved Beast. Don’t ask me how, but that thing took me the most attempts of anyone in the game. More than Logarius, more than Ebriatus, more than Gherman. I think half the reason was maybe because of my gear and lack of weapons, but more so I think it was due to the intimidation factor. This boss scares me more than Orphan of Kos, just the way you have to sprint past werewolves on the walk down, and the way it is lumbering towards you slowly at first and then becoming more aggressive as the fight progresses. Even during the cave in Old Hunters, I knew there was one in the cave that I would probably kill in 8 hits, but I was so traumatized from the original boss fight my hands were sweating walking through to the end of the cave
@@megashark1013 eh, the mechanics of the fight are just basic. Sure, you can use the music box, but that makes the fight stupid easy, so not taking that into account, it's just like any other hunter boss, and then like any other beast boss.
Lucas Christenson according to the community vote, micolash is second worse because the lore is actually pretty solid that people can overlook the shit mechanics slightly
Shadows absolutely destroyed me until I found out they had a shock weakness and hit them twice with the Tonitrus and laughed at how easy it was from there on.
Ludwig, Laurence and Gherman’s music are the top 3 for me. Living Failures music is actually epic aswell. But usually you forget about that cuz the boss is meh.
@Sunbro Adresse i listen to the whole soundtrack all the time, i like all the music but without doubt Ludwig, Laurence and Gehrman are the best. the living failures are appreciated by many, including myself, despite the boss
I also love the blood-starved Beast I think it's a perfect Melee character that ultimately discourages passive play style if even after father gascoigne you have tried to just sit back and parry. However having to pop antidotes every time you get near it is unfair
I find him incredibly annoying to fight personally. And really annoying to parry because of how thin he is and how much he moves. Except for the move where he...I think is biting you a bunch? He brings his head down and hits you eight times.
I don't really understand how Gascoigne isn't higher. He might be simple, but his story is really interesting and depressing, plus he has one of the best boss themes in the game. He's part of the reason I fell in love with Bloodborne.
You definitely got number 1 correct... that fight was the "get gewd" fight for me and OHH MY GOODNESS I was so happy when he finally died. Such a cool fight and wouldn't have anything changed.
I love how no 2 opinions of bosses in these games are the same , you put micolash at the worst spot but my brother said micolash was his favorite! It's something Iove about this series.
I'M SO HAPPY SOMEONE STILL MAKES VIDEOS ABOUT BLOODBORNE TO THIS DAY! I'm glad you made this video, and also I love, LOVE, (moist towelettes) the way you explain things, I really like your sarcasm and your humor. Keep going, you're doing great ^^
14:01 You get some brownie points for this one, had a good chuckle. While I did in fact not get an ad, it's fresh to me, and I appreciate this so so much.
Gehrman was actually a hero, imo. The more lore I dug into the more I came to realize he was fighting to keep you from having to deal with the traumatic shit of being stuck in a permanent beast killing Limbo. If you come back to the Hunter's Dream often you'll eventually hear him crying and basically bemoaning being stuck in an endless cycle of watching Hunters come and go - that's why I devoted myself to fighting him in old fashioned Souls one-on-one rules; no healing items, no buffs, just skill versus skill and blade versus blade. I felt I owed him that much.
Ludwig is my favorite by far. Most epic OST, 2 entirely different phases, epic cutscene, disgusting arena, awesome boss design and just hard enough for not being over in 5 seconds or taking 10 minutes.
To be honest, one flaw I saw at Martyr Logarius was the fact that you didn't charge a heavy attack behind him during his 2nd phase transition. It's a life saver for the rest of the fight as your bullets won't get thrown in a different direction if you try to shoot him at the right timing
Great video, Bloodborne is easily my favorite SoulsBorne game without question. My 3 favorite bosses would have to be Vicar Amelia. You literally gave the perfect explanation for why I love her as a boss. It's like you took the words out of my mouth, couldn't have said it better myself. I sum her up as this: The Cleric Beast teaches you how to play Dark Souls, Father Gascoigne teaches you the basics of Bloodborne, Vicar Amelia turns it up to 11 and truly teaches you how to play Bloodborne. She's such an underrated boss and by far has the best design in the game in my opinion. I do wish she had her own theme instead of sharing it with The Cleric Beast but that track is good so I let it slide
Great video, but I think you missed the point of the Moon Presence along with most people who found it easy. The point is that once you've gained enough insight to repel it, you've become MUCH more powerful than it, or any Great One for that matter. At that point, although the Moon Presence isn't weak, it stands no chance, and it makes sense. It's nowhere near on your level at that point.
It is 12:30 at night, and as I am lying in bed underneath my covers, half asleep, I take a look at my phone and see “Mr. Cheekflaps,” making me let out a hearty chuckle in the middle of the night. Thank you, Rusty, for what you do.
I've played Bloodborne about 5 times through now. I can't help but absolutely love Lady Maria's fight because it truly feels like a Hunter vs Hunter kind of battle in PvP. Taking her down was my greatest accomplishment in the game since it took me a few tries.
Probably the boss in all of soulsborne that punishes both greed and panic rolling the hardest. Learning Orphan was like learning Nameless King on steroids. You got greedy and went for one extra swing? Lose half your HP. Panicked because you're now a one shot and you dodged an extra time? Guess you'll need to try again. Only thing I don't like is how big some of his AOE attacks are in the last phase - just annoying to deal with. Still a great fight.
Logarius is cheesable. Stagger him while he's charging for second phase - he's melee from that point on and you can keep staggering that ass with the pistol. Easy-peasy.
I actually managed to beat Martyr Logarius first try during my 3rd playthrough(on a new character, of course) Most proud moment of my life. And also, you were quite right about the Amygdala fight being insanely easy with the right build lol I have a lvl 85 arcane build character; 3 hits of my Call Beyond tool and Amygdala was as mobile as a squished spider.
I like how almost all of the DLC bosses are in the top 10. Also, the biggest rollercoaster of excitement to boredom back to excitement was Ludwig, to Failures, THEN RIGHT BACK TO MARIA.
Well that felt pretty bad... Gascoigne, the shadows, amelia... 3 of my favorite bosses all down in the lower Middle part of the list, heck i'd asd in even micolash and rom if their fights didn't suck. I can kind of understand where you're coming from with the shadows, but... I guess i just liked them? Give me a dozen shadows of yharnam over a lawrence any day, will always be easier and more satisfying. You don't win against laurence, you survive him. Gascoigne instead was just plain cool to me while amelia is one of the big bosses i actually like, as i prefer humanoid bosses as they give you more options of approaching them. P.s.: and i guess i kinda like thw bsb too? Though that's only after i mastered parrying her...
I just got back into bloodborne a few months ago after finally getting a handmedown ps4 from my best friend, and this game has consumed my life again. This list is p damn spot on, but I really like how you explained Laurence and Ludwig. They're my favorite bosses in the whole damn game, and laughed too damn hard at "Because he's fuck mothering Laurence and you're gonna do what he goddamn tells you to." Definitely earned a sub for this one
I'm glad that I'm not the only person who appreciates the fight with Darkbeast Paarl. I just love his design from how he's introduced, to his visuals, and his sound effects. Such a cool boss!
Finally beat this game for the first time, DLC and all. Killed all the bosses, and it was so freaking great. Probably my favorite fight of the bunch is between Lady Maria and Ludwig. Ludwig was certainly harder, but Lady Maria's fight just felt so satisfying to play through. It's hard to explain, but I love them both. Love this game. Just started New game + and I'm so pumped to play it again.
Tip for the Shadows. Target the pure range one first. He's a pain in the ass if you're taking down the other two, and unlike them can just be stunlocked into oblivion with enough DPS. The best way to do this is to pass through Cainhurst for chunks before the fight, then just spam until they start turning into snake heads. During the transformation, just keep spamming him and he should die before the animation is over, leaving you with the close range guys.
I just love The One Reborn fight so much. The grotesque yet amazing and creative design of the boss, the concept behind of it(Basically a horrifying failure of an attempt to create a god), the introduction cutcene of this unholy abomination beeing sumoned out of a sphere in the sky and the take of it standing up with that beautifull red moon in the background, the soundtrack, everything is amazing.

You have to go start the fight the first time, leave, get rid of your insight and come back. When you start the bossfight you get some insight and even if you had 0 before, that's enough to have to deal with the mad ones.
20:36 "I legitimately thought I chose the Bad Ending."
You did.

Well, Amelia also shows you how the transition to beasthood occurs and that one is a _literal_ cinematic scene. Still, I get your point.
@@alzhanvoid I ser your point, however with Amelia we just see a girl, blood and the wolf. With Gascoigne we see him slowly loosing himself to the curse until becoming the beast. Amelia shows us only half of the curse IMO

You could also include the music box method to cheesing Father Gang-Sign. It's in no way essential but it's definitely the first real reward for exploring (unless you include finding the "madman's knowledge" in central yarnham to unlock the doll/level ups before encountering any bosses)
It's not really a cheese at best it will just skip one phase to his fight so it's best to save until the very end with the crazy wolf phase

Saint Isshin begs to differ but that doesnt mean that Ludwig is not an awesome fight
i mean everyone is entitled to their own opinion!!

Dude this is as funny as your original version of top 10 most hated hollow knight enemies.
I was gonna get mad seeing you putting such good bosses so far back, then I realized that there were just that many good bosses

The orphan of kos was the boss that solidified this as one of my top 3 games of all time.
So true
Logarius is cheesable. Stagger him while he's charging for second phase - he's melee from that point on and you can keep staggering that ass with the pistol. Easy-peasy.

They're my favorite bosses in the whole damn game, and laughed too damn hard at "Because he's fuck mothering Laurence and you're gonna do what he goddamn tells you to."
Definitely earned a sub for this one
I'm glad that I'm not the only person who appreciates the fight with Darkbeast Paarl. I just love his design from how he's introduced, to his visuals, and his sound effects. Such a cool boss!
For the Ad thing you pulled at the perfect time in the video, you've earned another sub 😂
LOL "The appetizer from Spongebob" I'm weak XFD
Don't get it, I'd love to hear what that is.
After struggling with Amygdala with a slow Ludwig blade I found it so enjoyable to blast him away with a Gunslinger Bloodtinge build.
Cannon, my man. That's the way to go.
Loving the "OH SHIT AN AD" joke. Timed perfectly for me. Nice one Rusty 😂😂
That sneezed line had my rolling at midnight
I just love The One Reborn fight so much. The grotesque yet amazing and creative design of the boss, the concept behind of it(Basically a horrifying failure of an attempt to create a god), the introduction cutcene of this unholy abomination beeing sumoned out of a sphere in the sky and the take of it standing up with that beautifull red moon in the background, the soundtrack, everything is amazing.
I really appreciate the 3 second ad skit. Incredible
