Rusty: my favorite is Loran Darkbeast Demod: my least favorite boss in all of bloodborne and in the top 5 worst in all the souls series is Loran Darkbeast
The one boss in the base game that annoyed the shit out of me even after I beat it. Logarius isn't so bad once you know you can break his key to the Gate of Babylon, but it is annoying when he through it down four times in a row and then walks in front of it. His camera issues were minor compared to the ones I had with Darkbeasts though.

I used to hate that electric dust bunny. When you get used to his attacks (not his patterns, just the separate animations), he becomes more manageable and a fun build test that isn't a stupid DPS race.
In the dungeons they really aren't that bad imo. At least there you enough space to move away to heal or something. The one you meet in the forbidden woods, tho... I think i've only ever beaten that guy once without cheesing him. The place you fight him in is just too damn tiny. You are literally always in his range.
It's hard at least partially because he has rubber arms. You can guage what you THINK his range probably is, and then suddenly he punches you and you realize his dumb arms are 1.5x longer than they look. For me, it's hard to adjust to the reality of his attack range when it doesn't match up with his visuals
I actually never knew about a lot of these regular enemy copy paste bosses. I never played many chalice dungeons. What I'm trying to say is that I appreciate the video.
To be fair I think the name Maneater comes from the pigs being fed corpses of beasts, cause those gotta go somewhere and Yharnam has a LOT of em to dispose of, and pigs are known to be able to completely devour corpses and quickly (it's fucking horrifying). Would explain how they grew to be bus-sized too
It’s worth noting, with the Headless Bloodletting Beast, that if you are at a distance & walk slowly away from him, or don’t move at all, the beast will NOT provoke you. I noticed this when I got to the final layer of the xc284ugx chalice & spammed A Call Beyond from across the arena.

in regards to the maneater boar: pretty much all pigs can and will eat humans, and each other - it's why some farm pigs have their tusks blunted and their tails curled, to prevent injury to or from other pigs, because once one pig is sufficiently injured there's a chance the rest of them will just chow down. there have been many incidents of people falling into a pig-pen drunk or unconscious and getting ripped apart. the maneater boar is kind of just "big gross pig". and most pigs are huge, so it's not even that much bigger than a regular boar.

15:08 that may be how to pronounce amygdala in English, but in the game its ah-meeg-da-la. Patches says it when you get taken to the nightmare frontier by the amygdala near the entrance of Yahar'gul (tonsil stone required)
Spent a lot of days stuck on the Cursed Watchdog boss fight. I wasn't impressed when they reskinned it and placed it in Dark Souls 3. Like, you're character is slower but it's DS3 variant is still at Bloodborne speed.
It's called Amygdala because its head is almond-shaped (similar to the brain's amygdala) and it's related conceptually to the concept of fear, panic, and the unknown. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
15:11 Nah, Patches is objectively more correct. He does have the wisdom of the Great Ones, after all. Also, *fuck the Headless Bloodletting Beast.* He's the real guardian of the Platinum Trophy.
You should do an updated 8 creepiest places in bloodborne video. In the old one you didnt include dlc and I wanna see how your mind has changed? Just a thought love your videos btw
To be fair Chalice Man-eater Boar DID get some cool new moves, sooo there was some effort put in Also does the keeper not get introduced as a boss first and enemy second just like the giants?
The problem with the Loran Darkbeast and - to a lesser extent - Paarl is that they has the steepest drop-off in difficulty in successive playthroughs. If you get to Paarl in the Gaol, pick a god to worship because you're fucked. If you get to him in Yaharguul then you've already got the phantasm shell by now and any adequately built +9 weapon makes him a breeze. Then on NG+ and beyond the damage output of a good build for outpaces the increase in difficulty. For the Loran beast it's even worse because he doesn't scale up with NG+ cycles
Your pronunciation of amygdala is correct for psychology, but the in-game pronunciation is awe-MIGG-doll-uh. Patches says it multiple times. Great video though, always down for Bloodborne content!
“Pumpkin pie in the corner trying to pump a few blunderbuss rounds into your face, and turkey and stuffing over there trying to mash your face in with a tire iron” 😂
maneater boar schould be one.. i completed the platinum trophy this morning and i loved to watch your ranking video because my own experience with this bosses is just a couple hours ago
Hey, the BSB may be a repeat fight, but it's also a really good fight. Also Keeper of the Old Lords appears as a boss before he appears as a regular enemy, just like the undead giants.
I started cheesing Amy and Ebri with Ludwig L2 (lightning gems) and fire Stakedriver, but they're so fun to me regardless. Most of my random FRC chalices have had Amy at least and I get so happy everytime. Headless Bloodletting Beast and Abhorrent Beast are kind of fun when you get to know them. Bloodletting Beast is so annoying at times if you stay close to his legs (instant staggers from his movements if you're not careful, delaying inputs while the camera moves around). Loran Darkbeast has been the most annoying for me regardless, but learning positioning makes my memories of it kind of bittersweet. I forget how frustratingly tedious it can be. I suppose spending time just fighting it on repeat might not be as bad as some others. I hate Descendant so much. I often only aim to survive phase one and cheese its second phase. I should parry him, though. Yharnam was ok. A bit too underwhelming for me. I love the Elder fight. It's a cozy farming boss too.
Funny thing is...theres so many unique chalice dungeon enemies that they could have been reworked into chalice bosses instead of normal enemies if they put in the effort. At least the keeper of the old lords had the decency to be a boss before becoming a common hunter type enemy
Another complaint about the maneater boar's name, normal pigs are maneaters (seriously, one serial killer famously hid all the corpses by feeding them to his pigs) they'll eat just about anything, including each other, docking their tails and removing their tusks is supposedly to stop them from accidentally goring each other, cause if they smell blood they'll go into a frenzy and literally cannibalize whichever one was wounded. now that i mention that, its kind of fitting they're in BB, huh...
2:08 Lmao
Thanks for pointing that out, thought I was having a stroke :v

If you get to him in Yaharguul then you've already got the phantasm shell by now and any adequately built +9 weapon makes him a breeze.
Then on NG+ and beyond the damage output of a good build for outpaces the increase in difficulty. For the Loran beast it's even worse because he doesn't scale up with NG+ cycles
The hunt shall never cease, for there are beasts to slain
Damn, Rusty predicted the Loathsome Dung Eater
The sound effect at 21:02 made the whole video worth it
"You're just a pile of bones that stocked its tongue in the light socket", fantastic
2:08 he predicted the dung eater
Your pronunciation of amygdala is correct for psychology, but the in-game pronunciation is awe-MIGG-doll-uh. Patches says it multiple times. Great video though, always down for Bloodborne content!
Great video man, finally some good f*cking bloodborne content
“Pumpkin pie in the corner trying to pump a few blunderbuss rounds into your face, and turkey and stuffing over there trying to mash your face in with a tire iron” 😂
Holy shit, I never realized the Abhorrent Beast pulls off Wamuu's Divine Sandstorm attack.
Sup rusty! I feel like this game is coming back. I always go back to it. Just finished my blood level 4 run. Can’t get enough
"If you went to the Healing Church after killing BSB"
Wait... somebody ever returned there?? FOR WHAT?
maneater boar schould be one.. i completed the platinum trophy this morning and i loved to watch your ranking video because my own experience with this bosses is just a couple hours ago
24:53 of course not, I don’t even buy merch from channels I actually like
Hey, the BSB may be a repeat fight, but it's also a really good fight. Also Keeper of the Old Lords appears as a boss before he appears as a regular enemy, just like the undead giants.
Blood letting beast is one of my hardest, and I don’t know how I keep missing🙄 thanks for another great video.
Rusty I think everyone could use some merch. You would make hella stoinks. Tbh I would by any shirt saying anything related to Rusty.
