Hello sir. It was a present (the MT version) for me sons birthday this saturday and I we are having a issue with the speed limiter, maybe you have any ideas? When the car is on lower half of the speed setting everything works fine. When its faster (and more it is the bigger the issue) when I apply the throttle lightly first the car goes backwards and only when I apply more throttle, it starts going forward. Im a RC newbie but from my research it may have something to do with throttle trim, right? But there no setting like this on this car? Is there anything we can do or should I send it back to the dealer as defective (god I hope not, son loves it)? Thank you so much for your time.

Fun fact there is a thing above the motor which you can move above the whole with the magnets are inside or whatever you can close that so no rocks can actually go inside leaving success run

Rebadged HBX / SG. However, those models are also available brushless. I do like the HPI ST body - it looks much more premium than the HBX and SG equivalents
Yes, bought this Slayer MT for my son birthday and I can confirm its same as the HBX 16889 and the SG 1601. Only difference I found was missing wheelie bar on the Slayer. However, checked both diffs and it was ready to go with plenty of grease already applied.
i have a question ( i doubt i'll get an answer seeing as this video was made a year ago) how durable would you say this car is? because i really dont want want to buy new parts frequently and i just wanted a rc car for Christmas
If this really is a HPI product then they will want to be careful calling it the slayer. They've already been taken to court by traxxas and now calling a car the slayer which traxxas have had for many years is pretty risky if you ask me.
Good for kids getting into RC. And also suits smaller back gardens (and smaller pockets). If my son (for whom Ive ordered a brushless HBX16890) sticks with it, in a couple of years time I`ll give him my Arrma Big Rock and get something 4S or 6S for myself.
@@MrLunithy Sorry. Perhaps I wasnt making sense. The HBX is only £80 in the Uk. Id never spend £300 on something that small. Just saying that getting something small and cheap is a stepping stone to something bigger and more "grown up" like an Arrma, if a child wants to grow into the hobby we all love.

It's weird, cause it's the "Slayer" but the model on box is spelled "Slyder".
Just bought one for my lad in the Uk, think is Vern rebranded to slyder from slayer, and it’s awesome , bit jealous it keeps up with my stock Tt01

@@patmarcus172 There are cheap mini's going for nearly $300? that's 1/10 Tamiya and up that price is way to much for toy's.
