nice truck. as a child id play with my trucks in the dirt as realistically as possible and had i had an rc truck in the dirt as this beauty, a dream come true for sure. i even made childish suspensions on my tonkas for that realism, in my mind
The 55t will basically cut your speed in half. When I got my first truck, my knight hauler, I bought the 2 axle box trailer (which is the heaviest trailer Tamiya makes because its all aluminum) and with the stock motor I turned and had the trailer up on two wheels, nearly pulling the truck over. Currently all my trucks have 55t motors buy I'm looking to change to 80t motors.
Thanks I'm always asked how fast it goes it goes, never had a answer for people currently working on my second semi now.plus if you haven't gotten the box trailer yet it's top heavy and will flip over on fast turns!
I have seen some one make the 3rd gear a neutral gear. That way you could have it being pulled by a tow truck (if you have one) and when you go to shows you can rev up your engine. Nice video
Gives me some good performance benchmarks to compare to with my Globe Liner. But that...heh heh heh heh. Nitro. Toyan 4-cycle engine. Currently quagmired with transmission indecision, but once I decide on a transmission to use I'll have it on the road.
I think these tractors perform just fine at high speeds , iv driven my Globe liner full throttle in 3rd it turns just fine , if you like taking it slow , you could build a truck with a 4 stroke engine .
@@rcinhand9671 oh, is that so in Bruiser? Actually my Bruiser delivery is on the way now, and that gran hauler is on my second order, i should have order Hauler first😄, Actually i got caught off about Bruiser metal/alloy parts that garnd hauler, Thanks very much Sir!
Interesting, am just starting and GH build and now I'm looking for a 'better' motor. Out of interest, what are you using on the phone for speed measurements?
I hated my Tamiya arocs 6x4. that thing was way too fast. Put an 80t motor and a 3-1 gear reduction and in first gear it basically crawls millimeters and has all the torque you ever need.
Awesome video! They are scary fast in 3rd gear even with the stock motor. I just leave mine in 1st and 2nd.

So, the triple axle trailer isn't metal?
@@rcinhand9671the reefer, the chassis rails are alloy. The storage box and sides and roof are styrene. The corner sections are alloy.
What motors are you using? I was thinking of the Axial 55Turn.
@RC4X4 RC4WD and Tekin, although prefer the Tekin. Holmes Hobbies make good motors too.
@@user-lk8ru1dk3w this one, no. This is the crawler motor. You'd have to get a low turn motor to be faster than stock.

It definitely would flip on tight turns! That's one of the reasons I slowed it down.
@@rcinhand9671 Yeah in our experience only top heavy trailers, flatbed trailer we also have 3rd gear no problems so far in last 3 months using it.
Just hit 52 mph with my tamiya king HAULER
Seriously?! Do you have a video of it?
It was in the trunk of his car through a school
zone... on the weekend.
Bro is living dangerously.
@grisslebear got it up to 60mph on 3s and it was not in the trunk of my car 😑
Wow!

All it would take is removing the gears for third. Good idea.
It has a neutral selection if you the MFC 01 Tamiya sound unit
@@NitroMeep3.3 oh nice to know
@@NitroMeep3.3 can I put a lipo 2s battery on my Mfc-3
@@NitroMeep3.3 have the factory motor
The hot setup is to lock it in low and use at least a 55 turn or 80 turn motor
I have a Yeah Racing 55 turn crawler motor that I'll test in the channel
Nice test, interesting👍
I've found 80T motors to be the best fit for my Tamiya trucks, but 55T should be fine, too!
awesome

I put a slower motor in mine. I used a 55 turn and it makes it much more realistic.
I put a 55 turn in this, too. The following video shows the results!

It's not exactly slow at 17 mph. When you look at it, 17 mph is scaled up to 238 mph (17 mph X 14th scale). Driving a semi at 238 mph is very fast.
@@rcinhand9671 1 day delivery , gotta drive fast
Am I the only idiot who is about to put a 2 cylinder nitro engine?
Do it and send it!
Nice 👍
Thanks for watching!
Sounds like a good opportunity ti take my 45T Tekin out of my crawler which isnt being run anywah.
Newbie here, just want to ask if you can shift gear while running like the real one? Safe and sound?
Yes you can shift while running. No need to stop and shift, like the Bruiser.

Plz can you give it to me

bloody stupid tamiya shipping these trucks with this knd of speed motor/gearbox etc
In the 90s, when they came out, I'm sure it seemed like a good idea.

These are basically a plastic model kit with a motor. They're fragile. It's scary that any small bump will knock things off of it!

For these it is scary. On my road course car it would be slow as my road car runs 110
