    I’ll never forget when he gave me his TD catch in Philadelphia. It’s was his first TD in 12 or 13 games and me and my girl made a sign for him. At halftime, we were able to get his attention coming out of the tunnel. He read our sign then pounded his chest a few time letting us know, “he got us.” So we were sitting on the 1 yard line and they lined up in a screen formation. I told my girl that they were about to throw him a screen and he was going to score (I seen that formation too many times lol). And sure enough, I was right. After he scored, he dapped up all his teammates then we could see that he searching for something. I was like, “he’s looking for us,” so we yelled, “DT, DT,” then he turned his head, seen us, put his head down and jogged all the way over to where we were, then he tossed us the ball and my girl made this beautiful one handed catch lol. Seriously it was amazing (although her hands were like that). But either way, what an awesome experience. He was true to his word. Btw, if the guy who recorded that video next to us sees this and still has the video, hit me up PLEASE.
    And lastly, a true testament of his character, I was in Washington when the broncos came to town on Christmas Eve that same year. It was a horrible game, we got whooped, but at the end of the game, DT was running towards the locker room and I yelled, “DT, DT,” and I kid you not, he looked over, seen me and ran all the way back from being almost in the tunnel to where i was sitting. Then he dapped me up and we talked for like a min (mainly me) and I asked him, let me get your jersey. I’m not sure if he heard me or fulling understood what I meant, but he shook his head yes like he was going to give it me, then he took my sign and signed it lol… but regardless, the point was that he turned all the way around just to come say hi as if he remembered me; and maybe he did….. well DT, I’m still waiting on that jersey soooooo ima just have to get it from you when I see you in Heaven!!!

      to give you some closure, it costs player several hundred of dollars every time they share a jersey or give one away. it depends on the amount of violations, but its around 500-1,000$ every tine. so he probably wanted to, but realized it would be silly to take a fine, so he just signed the sign and went on.

    • @Vasqp2095
      @Vasqp2095 20 дней назад

      I believe that they also get a fine when a player tosses or gives a fan a game ball. Just looked it up. A player only gets fined if they toss or kick the football into the stands and not if they hand the football to a fan.

    Early in his career, I saw him in a club in Vegas. Waited for an opportunity to approach him trying to not say something stupid. He had a big walking boot on because it was right after the first season, and he had injured his foot again. All he wanted to do was ensure me as a bronco fan that he was going to come back strong and put all the work in that he needed to come back better than before. I was just some fan that walked up to him but he acted like he worked for me! He just kept promising he would come back better and not let the fans down and then proceeded to keep talking to me just like it was two guys talking he had no ego whatsoever! He was the spectacular player, but a better human being.

    Receivers usually haven’t been my favorite players, but I loved this guy from day one. I lived in Colorado when he was drafted and I got to follow most of his career while I lived there. Got to see him only feet away at summer camp. Dude was huge. Living in Colorado you feel like I knew these players more than anywhere else I have lived. You had to love everything about this guy. Therefore it was a huge disappointment when he was traded but I really hoped for his success. His loss was heartbreaking. Thanks for the memories DT, I loved watching you play.

    Loved this doc, our son died in 2011 from a seizure disorder. He and DT were similar in so many ways. My son did service work (Americorps) with kids in Baton Rouge after hurricane Katrina, he taught reading and worked on refurbishment projects and he loved his time spent there. He played football as well and had the same smile and love for life as DT. They were both born in 1987 as well. I put off watching this because I knew it would tear me up but I'm so glad that I did. It's important for anyone going thru this type of medical condition to be monitored closely by family and friends, it's one of those things that you learn after the fact. It's tough to do because they pull away from family and friends. If only we had known what we learned in the worst possible way. Sad for DT and his family and friends, it's the hardest thing they will ever have to deal with. He was a champion at life and he hadn't even figured that out yet, same can be said for our son Bryon.

I never asked for myself and now I regret it because I would have something. He was always kind, sweet, respectful. When I called to ask him if he would sign it he was at a team dinner and answered the phone. I laughed because, "Sir, you are one of the biggest names in football at this time". How you gonna just answer all nonchalant. 🙌 It was unbelievable and still is heartbreaking.
