    It's a shame that their season was defined by an embarrassing Super Bowl loss because they were truly one of the most dominant offenses to ever take the field and this was, in my opinion, Peyton's most impressive season by far given his circumstances. 2 years removed from being physically unable to throw a football and he sets all sorts of records. Pure insanity.

    • @craigb6904

    • @SmugTomato
      @SmugTomato 2 года назад +13

      @@jrad410 2004 was easily his best season. I find his body of work in 2013 to be more impressive simply given the fact that he quite literally could not throw a football 2 years prior to that season. He had no feeling in his arm basically and still managed to light up the league.

    • @keyshawnbess572

      Seattle was just the better team. Broncos didn’t face a team that was physical and in your face all season. Until they met Seattle. Their outside skill players weren’t physical enough and had no chance against Seattle.
      Plus people forget that their defense was garbage. Even when von miller was in the lineup. That’s why they couldn’t stop Russell Wilson.
      Someone said it best.
      The broncos defense could have played their best of the entire season and they would have still lost.

    • @SmugTomato
      @SmugTomato 2 года назад +13

      @keyshawnbess572 I agree. That Super Bowl was the result of a terrible matchup more than anything else. Denver's offense struggled against physical defenses in general and Seattle basically forced Peyton to make tight window passes that he didn't have the arm strength to make anymore. And their defense got straight up ran through by Lynch all night. They stood no chance and once Seattle's offense got going, things got ugly very fast.

    The Broncos had the ability to change their identity so quickly. 2 years prior they were the most dominant rushing team, and 2 years after they were the most dominant defense.
    3 years prior their passing was very potent also. They couldn't score, which ultimately meant it was meaningless, but they could move the ball between the 20's with no effort in the blink of an eye, and Orton was on pace to break Marino's passing record before getting hurt.

Destiny was clearly calling for them that year, otherwise Broncos wouldv'e won the SB in 2012. Could've ignited a dynasty of 3 SB's in 4 years or something like that.

I know 2 years later they had one of the greatest defenses ever , but was it a coaching thing or did they have some big name free agent signings within those years. They had Chris Harris , talib , Von , tj ward even this year so what was the big leap 2 years later ?

Fox was fired; and he and Elway were pretty close. But c'mon; after a season like that it was so embarrassing. But, they won it a couple years later.
