Wow, I’ve been waiting for this one for a while. Thank you NFL Throwback for uploading this and letting me and the rest of the 12th man relive the glory of that magical 2013 season, especially this game Go Hawks
Yep. Somehow Lynch sucked at short yardage despite being built like a fullback. There's so many more instances of a 3rd or 4th and 1 where he just sucks. Throwing was the right call, unfortunate as the ending was.
@@mandomerlie1997 I look at it this way: the Seahawks had the fake FG attempt vs. the Packers the following year which no one expected. The pass at the end of SB 49 was also unexpected. Had it worked, people would have called Carroll a genius.
@@jimw9415 - Yes. Also, NFL Throwback has a video titled "Demons of the Past Come Back to Haunt! (Seahawks vs. Rams 2015, Week 1)" the first game after that super bowl loss to the Patriots. 4th and 1 in over time. Shotgun. Handoff to Lynch and stuffed hard by the Rams of all teams, who went 7-9 with two of those 7 wins against Seattle. When Seattle needed 1 yard, giving it to lynch was the wrong choice far more often than it was the right choice. Lynch was amazing... but he was amazing because of his vision and agility. Man could read blocks and step out of the way of Linebackers. he didn't run over linebackers, he side stepped them and ran through diving/reaching arm tackles. He typically lost against squared up Shoulder tackles. I think it was also the safety Ryan Clark who said and proved that if you squared lynch up in the hole, you were going to win. Lynch won with angles. When he got 45 degrees on you, his stiff arm and legs would turn away anything you gave him.
As an outsider, I was always drawn to #94 Justin Smith. Dude was a wrecking ball on the Dline and a huge reason their defense went from good to elite. In a 3-4 a dominant DE can make all the difference
12:33 - This hurt almost as bad as the ending. As a 49ers fan, I was saying how Russ is going to try and draw Brooks offsides. I don't know where Ahmad ranked, but he jumped for those hard counts "all the time". Then the mic'd up segment confirmed it.
Forgot how physically brutal these two teams were. The immaculate deflection one of my most favorite plays ever, and then to gollow it up with the post game rant and LOB drop the mic.
This was a great game man and to bad the niners lost but I've been over that lol. I can't believe this is now a decade old game and now Seattle has to travel to Sf this Saturday for the wildcard round in 2023. I was in my early 20s when Kap was still a qb in mid 2010s and I was still in college as well. Time goes by fast.
Tip of the hat to Steven Hauschka at 12:20 - he surveyed the situation and wasn't confident he could make the kick from that distance in those conditions so he called it off, Carroll trusted his judgment and they score the go-ahead TD on the fourth down play instead.
After going back and watching some playoff games from the past 10 years, I realized the energy in this game was DIFFERENT. You just don't see this type of intensity or high stakes energy in the NFL no more. Something changed after 2013. Idk what it was but this is the last game I can remember where the game was like life or death and the brotherhood was STRONG between the teams
Looking back at this game, I’m starting to think Russell Wilson was never the guy. Always knew it was more our defense that kept us competitive, but seeing Russell now and Russell back then, it makes me think he wasn’t ever as good as he was made out to be.
Wussell Rilson was genuinely good but his unorthodox style of scrambling around and hitting big on broken plays could only last as long as his athleticism did. He could never really simply drive down a field like a normal quarterback by converting 3rd downs with check downs to keep the chains moving.
You gotta look and see he wasn't still under non-stop pressure and getting sacked left and right. There weren't any other QBs besides Krapernick who could scramble and pass like Russ. He never had time to sit in the pocket.
Wilson had like the best deep ball ever..he was a magician how he could throw it high 2 the sky and drop it perfectly into his receivers hands..and was prob as clutch as it gets except 4 the crazy malcolm butler SB play..best deep ball thrower I've seen and was never injured despite his size and play style!!

Man that was quite an intense game! I was really rooting for the Seahawks to win that game so they could go to the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl game was IMO a lot less intense than the NFC game.
As a hawks fan, I was happier ab this win than the Super Bowl😂 I was in like 5th grade growing up a hawks fan hating the 49ers with all my heart😂
A lot was riding on this game, Harbaugh's NFL legacy, Pete Carroll's up and comers, the rivalry. It was a good game
It was to bad Harbaugh was stuck with crapernick..He lost our Super Bowl game also by calling an audible at the 1 yard line to win the game and did not get in on 4th down.
Thank you so much for this!
The look on Jim Harbaugh's face at the end, says it all lol . What an epic game and rivalry that season.
truly tho the officials really let them play for sure, that was the REAL Super Bowl in the 2013-14 season
OMG can't believe this was 10 years ago. What a time & rivalry. We'll probably never see a Seahawks team like this again. Now for the 49ers they have a stacked roster right now as we speak.
2013 Seahawks defense was the first since the 1985 Bears to lead the league in fewest points, fewest yards, and most turnovers 😮
@@omegamanGXEwell said. The Seahawks D was killer and would destroy any team in the NFL right now.
Back when the NFL wasn't the Flag Football League of Taylor Swifts...
Two RIVALS THAT ABSOLUTELY HATED EACH OTHER. Nostalgic
The intentional grounding no call and roughing the kicker no call was huge
The roar of the crowd when a championship game is decided in the final two minutes.
I was watching this game at home. I could literally feel the hits from this game. Physical matchup, intense rivalry, head coaches drama. The game lived up to the hype and deliver. Best game of that season that year.
These team now meet again for the first time since 2013
huh? oh in the playoffs sure
This is right around the time I started watching football, gives me great childhood nostalgia
Do any Dolphins and Bills playoff match ups in the 90s ( 90,92,95 or 98) and Giants and Vikings playoff match ups of 93,97 or 00
Remember watching the full game live on the tv like it was yesterday.
What an amazing season to witness.
Glad I was able to witness this team win it all. Good times.
Sherman must be thinking he’s in the WWE, trash talking Crabtree after that game
Wow, I’ve been waiting for this one for a while. Thank you NFL Throwback for uploading this and letting me and the rest of the 12th man relive the glory of that magical 2013 season, especially this game
Go Hawks
Get ready to get beat 3 times in one season 😂😂 yall shining moment is over
Well stay stuck in the past then
The entire game is on youtube
@@ahkreacts6836 and if you lose Ill be here waiting for that L post

14:50 - When people say Seattle should have run the ball vs New England, show them this play and remind them that the Pats also had a loaded defense.
I've done this on other threads, we were terrible in short yard situations and people act like it was a guarantee running the ball was a sure thing.
When I think of this game, I think of Sherman's rant at the end of it. lol
14:50 Running Marshawn on the one yard line isn't a sure thing.
That rivalry made both teams better. When harbaugh left and the niners declined, so did Seattle. Fun time to be a hawks fan for sure
Richard Sherman insists he is the best corner in the game!
How could you put him against someone like Crabtree?
When you try him with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you gonna get! Don’t you ever talk about him!
@@allelitetyler9526 The Numbers don't lie Lol

Who was talking about him?
@@NYGForever Michael Crabtree. Don't you open your mouth about the best, or he's gonna send it for you real quick; LOB!!!!!
I miss this Seahawks team
As an outsider, I was always drawn to #94 Justin Smith. Dude was a wrecking ball on the Dline and a huge reason their defense went from good to elite. In a 3-4 a dominant DE can make all the difference
This was one of the most dominant defensive lines and linebacking cores in nfl history
Yup! I think that was even better than this past Def Niners had! Would be a great argument for Hitner to respond to.
Everyone Loves You NFL Throwback 🏈 Keep Up The Good Work 👍
12:33 - This hurt almost as bad as the ending.
When lynch made the Td everyone was throwing skiddles lmaoo
I miss this Seahawks game so much. It’s why it hurts to watch Super Bowl 49.
should of ran the ball😂
The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl 48
just give him the ball, wtf
I still remember the look on Little petey's face when that ball was intersected in the end zone! Priceless!!
@@Memo-nd6fj yep lol. He’s just chewing the gum and the expression on face is just, “there’s really no way that just fucking happened”
"Who was talking about you?" Is low key a perfect and hilarious response lol
What's up! I want this defense back!! Lol! Look at all the hits! Guys were flying to the ball with speed and power!
It better be this loud in Levi's on Saturday.
wont be
Doesn’t matter swept 🧹 the 🌊 sea trash back to the ocean
This was a great game man and to bad the niners lost but I've been over that lol. I can't believe this is now a decade old game and now Seattle has to travel to Sf this Saturday for the wildcard round in 2023. I was in my early 20s when Kap was still a qb in mid 2010s and I was still in college as well. Time goes by fast.
This was the Super Bowl imo
Bro I forgot Vance Mcdonald played for the 49ers
Dangggg….missed those day .
One of the best games I've ever seen.
This was one of the best games I’ve ever seen.
I was at this game. Besides my daughter's birth this was the most memorable time of my life.
Tip of the hat to Steven Hauschka at 12:20 - he surveyed the situation and wasn't confident he could make the kick from that distance in those conditions so he called it off, Carroll trusted his judgment and they score the go-ahead TD on the fourth down play instead.
I’m missing the NFL Throwback thumbnails🥲

Simple the highest level of football I’ve witnessed
I miss this era man the kap era was special and Harbaugh
