Phantom Flub - Throne Malfunction

A flub in the final scene which the Phantom is unable to get the throne to work, so instead of Meg pulling the cloak off the throne to reveal the mask, the actor hands the mask to her from beneath the cloak. Often talked about, rarely caught on video. Hugh Panaro plays the Phantom, Deanna Doyle plays Meg; Broadway, 2014.

I once watched a performance where the Phantom disappeared but there was no mask left on the throne, so Meg just held her hands up holding nothing.

I saw a similar one during the final slew of performances on Broadway, where Meg just knelt there, stunned (and I'm assuming the actress was too). You've really got to give praise for how quickly these guys are able to ad-lib in situations like that.

So do I. I saw the show a skillion times between the announcement of its closing and when it actually happened and there were several huge mistakes that I caught, including something like this--there was no mask, so Meg just knelt there stunned (I'm sure the actress was too) without holding it up).

According to an interview with Hugh Panaro about the mishap, the Phantom actor just whispers something like, "I'm still here!" And the Meg actress just rolls with it.
