Bowing or not does not matter. If you have issues with something so insignificant and yet it bothers you so much, look within yourself and think about it.

@@karenk3593 doesn't matter! Sign or statue.. I'm not against people worshipping someone or something.. We should have freedom to do whatever we want to do as long as we're not harming others or imposing our own beliefs on others.. And I myself love buddha statues I always feel so soothing and calm when I stare at them 😇😁🙏

i kinda agree. The problem with people in whatever they want and keeping it to themselves is no one ever gonna hear truth. But even if u do spread truth, all the sudden they act like ur using force.

Proskynesis /ˌprɒskɪˈniːsɪs/ or proscynesis /ˌprɒsɪˈniːsɪs/, or proskinesis /ˌprɒskɪˈniːsɪs/ (Greek προσκύνησις, proskýnēsis; Latin adoratio) is a solemn gesture of respect for the gods and people; among the Persians, it referred to a man prostrating himself and kissing the earth, or the limbs of a respected person. Proskynesis (adoratio) was one of the religious rites of the Greeks and Romans.[1]
In the Byzantine ceremonial, it is a common gesture of supplication or reverence. The physical act ranged from full prostration to a genuflection, bow, or simple greeting that concretized the relative positions of performer and beneficiary within a hierarchical order (taxis).
Bowing to Buddha images was not part of original Buddhism. Buddha images came from Greek influence in India. Sometime between the 2nd century BC and the 1st century AD, the first anthropomorphic representations of the Buddha were developed. These were absent from earlier strata of Buddhist art, which preferred to represent the Buddha with symbols such as the stupa, the Bodhi tree, the empty seat, the wheel, or the footprints. But the innovative anthropomorphic Buddha image immediately reached a very high level of sculptural sophistication, naturally inspired by the sculptural styles of Hellenistic Greece.
Many of the stylistic elements in the representations of the Buddha point to Greek influence: the Greek himation (a light toga-like wavy robe covering both shoulders: Greco-Buddhism, or Graeco-Buddhism, is the cultural syncretism between Hellenistic culture and Buddhism, which developed between the fourth century BCE and the fifth century CE in Bactria (parts of modern-day Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan)[2] and the Gandhara (parts of modern-day Pakistan and Afghanistan).[3][4][5] It was a cultural consequence of a long chain of interactions begun by Greek forays into India from the time of Alexander the Great. A few years after Alexander's death, the Easternmost fringes of the empire of his general Seleucus were lost in a war with the Mauryan Empire, under the reign of Chandragupta Maurya. The Mauryan Emperor Ashoka would convert to Buddhism and spread the religious philosophy throughout his domain, as recorded in the Edicts of Ashoka. This spread to the Greco-Bactrian kingdom, which itself seceded from the Seleucid empire. Within its borders, the Greek fondness for statuary produced the first statues of the Buddha, leading ultimately to the modern tradition.
