Goal of practices: Liberation mind from unsatisfactory.
1st: discipline body and words to stay away from regret. Abstain from killing beings, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying and intoxicants. Dont do unwholesome things, so you dont have to worry about it.
    2nd: Mental calmness. Meditation.
3rd: Wisdom from three means. Gain wisdom through learning, reflecting and practising.

I have never seen a monk who explains budhdha's philosophy in straightforward and clear manner. Discipline, Concentration, and Wisdom, and further breaking wisdom into learning, wise reflection, and wisdom gained through practice is so powerful. In my life whenever I go through a hardship or a downfall, reflective thinking helped me to determine the lessons from those experiences and gain the wisdom that helped me to navigate my life better.

*These words are not mine.* These are the words the Ruach HaKodesh (YAHUAH's Set-Apart Spirit) uttered through me when I prayed to YAHUAH; asking him what *he wants* me to say, knowing the truth. He with ears, hear:
"Know that YAHUAH is the name of the Most High and YAHUsha is the name of The Son.
Come out of her, my people, who have fallen into her deceit. Who know not my name and say they love me. I have made myself known. I have heard you and I am here.
There are many who are yours to be saved. I am he who knows all that you are. Come to me, here are they who are mine. Make haste to come, here are we. Give in to them who speak of me, they are yours. I am here for you. Know that all is for them, here are we.
Give not to them that are against me. I am he who sees all you do. Come to me out of her, all are here for me. Do what I say. Out of her, come. All are here."
      Exodus 3:13-15 KJV
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
      John 5:43 KJV
43 *I am come in my Father's name,* and ye receive me not: *if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.*
      2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and *touch not the unclean thing;* *and I will receive you.*
      Isaiah 52:6-7 KJV
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
      2 Corinthians 6:1-2 KJV
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
      Romans 10:1-3 KJV
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
      Romans 10:13-17 KJV
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 *How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?*
15 *And how shall they preach, except they be sent?* as it is written, *How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!*
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. *For Esaias saith,* Lord, *who hath believed our report?*
17 *So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.*
      Nahum 1:7 KJV
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and *he knoweth them that trust in him.*
      Hebrews 3:15 KJV
15 *While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.*
      Isaiah 52:11 KJV
11 *Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing;* go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.
      John 14:15 KJV
15 *If ye love me, keep my commandments.*

Raised Christian, but right around when I started questioning Santa, I kinda just figured God isn't real either. I was 12 when I had become introduced to Buddhism and I think it was just a history channel episode.
They said that there isn't a god, its just a practice, I really clicked with that. Like I didn't need a god to be good, I needed self control and the notion that it was within me rather than being held by a god that I have to get it from, that changed everything about me forever.
I think for myself and take it at face value before I judge things, but if I had stayed ignorant, I would have judged everything and never give anything a chance.

Santa is fake and not related to anything in the Bible. But Jesus rose from the dead in recorded history. What do you do with that fact? Interested to know your answer, legitimately.
It's the verifiable fact that turned me into a Christian and has kept me a Christian. I can't honestly get around it, even though I've tried at times :)

@@ekolder Never said anything about the bilbe, just you. don't make up arguments with yourself and point them at me. I said if santa isn't real then god isn't either. Fairly simple stuff. If this one character people told me about is fake, then why should I not question the other characters people tell me about but yet I never see? straight forward logic, the enemy of Religion. I calls thems as I sees them, and your telling me an all powerful god wants to play hide and seek then get mad at you for not believing in him and he sends you to hell for not having enough info to work with? even if god is real he's a c*nt who kills children, just read the bible for once instead of acting like you do.
The bible is the reason I am not Christian anymore. I would never accept a god like that, arrogant, needy, selfish. Kills the 1st born of everyone in town instead of the king who said "i will not let your people go" Why should all the children suffer just to prove a point to one king? What did the people of Egypt do to deserve starvation and famine just cuz 1 man and his vendetta? So god punishes them all? what kind of god is that, not a loving one that's for sure.
I've also read the translation of the Hebrew bible, same God as Christians mind you, same exact God don't even try to say otherwise.... When the people of Amalek fought Saul's people, did god tell Sol to spare the women and children?... no... God told HIS PEOPLE... "Put them under the curse of destruction, spare no man, woman or child, babe or suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey." Saul sent out to do this task for his god, as his army of God traveled the met the Kenites, Saul had no problems with these people unlike Amalek. Saul begged them to leave, before the war started... God heard this and was not pleased that he did not destroy the Kenites. And when Saul took the livestock for his people instead of slaying it like God and told him to, do you think God was pleased then too? So god said to him "you have rejected the word of GOD and so GOD has rejected you as king." What kind of god gets mad at his followers for not murdering everyone in sight? YOUR GOD.
So even if he was real, I think you are worshiping a demon, a battle hungry, blood thirsty, child murdering demon who tricked you all into thinking its a god. I didn't even mention the part where King David committed adultery with a woman named Bathsheba who consequently became pregnant. Upon learning of Bathsheba's condition, David tried to cover his sin and eventually arranged for Bathsheba's husband, Uriah, to be killed in battle. God didn't punish either of them for all this sin, instead he made their CHILD sick and die... it wasn't quick either, it took 7 days of agony for this child to finally die all the while David refused to eat and prayed to god for forgiveness... all for naught. Why did the child have to suffer the sins of the Father? Your god is not fair or just.
Jesus was a real person, who was a middle eastern man. The floods are real accounts too, many religions/myths have flood stories and we have the geographical evidence. Just like the accounts of when gods name was used to murder the innocent, haven't even brought up the Crusades yet! Its all true stuff, up to the point where there are extra dimensional being(s) that watch over us and judge our souls. Souls aren't real either lol, or ghosts or Bigfoot. This is why I'm here, with Buddhism. No gods, only the deeds you do, good or bad. The world is suffering incarnate, why would you add more pain to it? that is Buddhism at its simplest form.
Btw Christianity is made up of all pagan things that came before it, most stories taken from Babylon myth, like they took the flood story from Babylon and put it in the bible. The adam and eve thing? use to be a part of a big story called the Epic of Gilgamesh. So just by knowing real history, and actual fact, you can clearly see that millions of gods pop up before the Christain god we know came to be. Yet you think that your god is more true than the old ones? If anyone can just start saying "I spoke with god" then why are you not Muslim? they had a prophet just like jesus, real stand up guy. I'll tell you why though, YOU GREW UP IN AMERICA. if you grew up in the east you would be Muslim, congrats on being randomly born in a specific location on the earth! This right here is why all religion is bullsh*t.

*These words are not mine.* These are the words the Ruach HaKodesh (YAHUAH's Set-Apart Spirit) uttered through me when I prayed to YAHUAH; asking him what *he wants* me to say, knowing the truth.

I'm reluctant to fully dive in to Buddhism because I feel like there are so many things in life that I want to experience and that are enjoyable that I would have to stop pursuing. What, for example, is the reason not to take intoxicants? Yes, too much will give you regrets, but so will too much food... Why should we not take intoxicants in moderation or in social situations. Why does it necessarily lead to regret? Isn't being able to be wild and crazy part of this fun experience? Similar question for "sexual misconduct" - first of all, that term is not clearly defined, but what I know is that at times sex that is forbidden is most pleasurable... For those who have experienced the intensities of something like hayuasca or sex while on some substances and have given it up for Buddhism, can you confirm that you can have such intense feelings from mastering the practice?

I always felt that I did not like religion. I do not like when on one side religion is telling you not to kill, and in the same way, religion is always been so close to wars and killings. Buddhism is my way, now I know that.
I only have one question, if I eat meat, is it can be considered like killing beings? Should I become a vegetarian?

    • @samanthipemarathna4242
      @samanthipemarathna4242 Месяц назад

No. Buddha never said to be a vegetarian. Killing animal by your self is wrong . But eating a dead meat which is killed by someone is not prohibited in Buddhism.
