      Just like in my country where in some weddings, the bride will not be wearing white so it's an okay colour to wear, but then there's this other wedding from a certain culture where red is the bride and groom's colour so no one else should be wearing it. So, yeah, definitely adjust to the type of wedding and where you live.

      Seasonally appropriate means the colours that are common in nature at the time of the wedding. Think of flowers, foliage, etc.
      In spring time you can wear any pastel.
      In summer opt for bright colors.
      In autumn jewel tones are great.
      Winter is the least colourful season, which means you can wear any colour you want.
      But wear whatever you want, just avoid white and you will be fine :)

    • @Natinatification
      @Natinatification Год назад +7

      For Spring and Summer you will usually find dresses in lighter and brighter colors: pastels, bright orange, yellow, lime... Lighter and flowier textiles too.
      For Autumn and Winter you will tipically find darker and richer colors. More structured dresses, heavier cloth...
      Of course these are general (and in my opinion, good) advice and you can do whatever you want or whatever the bride/groom asked in the invitation hehe. But if you are ever unsure about what to wear to a wedding, this is a good start :)
      Also, midi length is the safest option. Only wear long (long as in covering your feet) gowns if the wedding is at night. Short, knee length and midi are okay for day and afternoon.

    I'm having a vampire royalty themed goth wedding because me and my partner are both goth.
    The colors for our wedding we've already decided we'll be red, black, and gold.
    I'm just decided to tell everybody to wear something formal so they all look nice, and just wear black. They can wear dark makeup or natural makeup if they want to, they can wear jewelry, and as long as they're wearing something formal and not like a ripped up t-shirt and muddy jeans or boots, then it's fine.
    Besides, black is a flattering color no matter what kind of style you wear. Whether it's goth, any type of suit or dress or jumpsuit, just black is so flattering and it goes with everything. And they compare it with any color they want if they want to.
    If they want to wear just pure black and natural makeup and go for a clean girl look, I said go for it. They want to get gossed up in a different style, let them. As long as they're wearing something formal and black. As long as they're wearing something nice and flattering, and it's black, I don't care about the rest.
    As far as I'm concerned, as long as it's appropriate and black, I don't care if the men come and kills, or the women come and jumpsuits or pantsuits. I don't care who's wearing a dress and heels, I don't care who's winning the suit, they can do what they please.

      My aunt did at my uncle's wedding (when I say aunt I mean my uncles sister, not the woman he was marrying). Unless wearing black at a wedding is a fashion faux pas in your country like some people are saying in the comments, you should be able to wear what you want at a wedding as long as it's within the realm of reason and you're not taking attention away from the bride a groom cause its meant to be their day. That's just my opinion though.

    Edit: the amount of people who were offended (Americans) when people wore black to their wedding is amazing lol. I’m sure your day couldn’t have been that ruined.

    Talk to the bride or her friends ahead of time to get a sense of what to wear (or not to). I once wore a floral tea-length dress to an afternoon garden party wedding in spring and was quite surprised to find everyone else wearing black. 🤷 I thought it was awfully formal for afternoon and somber for a wedding, but apparently that was what I should have gone with.

    I also learned not to wear vibrant red or pink because were I'm from that's either for the bride to wear or would take focus from the bride. Also, it helps to call the couple holding the wedding and ask about possible dress codes if it's not included in the invitation. My eldest sister actually made someone leave because they came in a red dress when it was said not to. It's their special day and you should always remember that.

    I think it’s so beautiful to have a black and white wedding where guests wear white (it’s a personal opinion), I’m always confused with these videos because people usually requests/suggest what guests wear and if people get confused you can ask, it isn’t a crime to not know what’s appropriate as everyone has different tastes. Saying “hey, is this appropriate for your wedding?” seems way more logical then just guessing and going of a random persons idea, especially if it’s a wedding from a culture you’re not familiar with.

      Also, I’ve seen loads of wedding photos of men wearing very similar suits to the groom and no-one bats an eye but if a single woman wears white it’s deemed disrespectful (I can see why, don’t misunderstand me) just always been a bit odd in my mind

    Man, when I was growing up and even at my wedding... floor length maxi dresses and skirts were everywhere. And they definitely didn't overshadow anything, because they are that classic casual look. Just maybe not the iconic black and white chevron haha. But the straight skirt (NOT the tight) with knit fabric in no one way screams "Look at me!"

    I'm not really an expert or anything, but I work at a place that does weddings and I can safely say that this isn't really that good of a guide. I've heard a lot of talk about black being a super rude thing to wear to a wedding because that's associated with mourning clothes, so maybe don't wear a black dress?
    I get the thing with the skirt length, most wedding receptions will have a dance and wearing something too long or too short is a bit of a hinderence, but the thing with "matching colors to the season" only works with ambiguous themes, check with the bride or the wedding planner if you can't decide on a color pallette.
    Another thing to keep in mind is not to wear anything too flashy that draws too much attention to you, the guest. This day is celebrating the bride and groom, walking up to the chapel doors wearing haute coture without permission from the bride is a great way to get yourself disowned.

  • @SprinkleGirl
    @SprinkleGirl Год назад

    This all depends on the country. In my country everyone is supposed to wear white as the theme but you don't have to if you don't want to. It's basically open ended bit better if you all wear light or monocromatic colors

  • @jarastar6499
    @jarastar6499 Год назад +7

    When it doubt, just ask the bride or someone else in the wedding (like a bridesmaid) if the color you’re planning is okay! More often than not they’ll appreciate that you care about making their day go smoothly and you’ll avoid any bad confrontations if you pick the wrong thing
