I'm just ken is merely a meme song, yeah its cute and fun and all but its nothing compared to what was I made for which perfectly encapsulated the entire movie and its message and story in just a few minute, that song is a masterpiece that resonated with countless people across the world and made a huge impact, I can't wrap my head around anyone genuinely thinking I'm just ken is better, Billie and Finneas for the win❤.

    • @ImpressionBlend
      @ImpressionBlend  6 месяцев назад

It's definitely a meme song, but it's such a memorable scene, it's part of the story, and Gosling is delivering comedic gold in it. Don't get me wrong, "What Was I Made For" is a good song, and it's well-placed in the movie as well, but it never truly stuck with me and it reminds me of a few other songs I've heard in recent years. I'm here for Billie getting another Oscar though, she's so talented!

  • @SabzEclectic

Gladstone, Stone and Hüller - I still can’t decide whose performance I love more. Each impressive and complex in their own way. I too will be happy for whoever wins but also disappointed for the other two who will lose. If I was forced to pick, I’d probably go with Hüller because I love surprise wins.

    • @ImpressionBlend

Hüller is amazing in "Anatomy of a Fall", and I'll be happy is this turns into a night of chaos with "Anatomy" picking up unexpected awards. Even though I do still think Stone is crazy great and should win.

Thank you for a wonderful eloquent video. A few comments....
-Hello, nice to meet you, I do not like I'm Just Ken. I despise all the songs this year. It is the weakest group of nominated songs I believe in Oscar history. Not one of these songs will go down in history as a great classic Oscar-winning song like past winners.
-I also predict The Boy And The Heron for the win, and I would pick it for the win. It was #7 on my top 10 list. To me, with Spider-man, the glitz and colors and flash and fireworks and the whiz-bang ADHD editing-style storytelling did not engage me in the story at all.
-If Poor Things does not win Production Design and Costumes, and Barbie does, it will be a case of matching something already done vs originality and creativity.
-No person or force in Heaven or on Earth will convince me that Lily Gladstone gave a better performance than Emma Stone. I'm going to keep it brief because I could write pages on this, but if Gladstone wins it will be for her narrative and the Academy wanting to make a political sociological statement, instead of rewarding groundbreaking masterful risk-taking creativity in the craft of acting.

Ludwig's score for Oppenheimer reminded me of Hans work in interstellar
Can you hear the music might just be the cornfield chase of this generation
Hearing that piece of music in Imax was one of the best experiences of my life
Goransson has already a Oscar to his name for black panther he deserved another one for Oppenheimer
The only score which evoked unexplainable feelings in me was interstellar and the Tobey Maguire spiderman theme

Lord knows Miyazaki's son won't be winning anytime soon.😅 Across the Spider-Verse should win. The Boy and the Heron is good but not one of Miyazaki's best. It’s a good movie but consider it in another light. If the movie was entirely in English, it would seem like any other movie on Netflix. The language differences make it more interesting. I honestly felt like Nyad was a better movie. Glad I watched Past Lives but I don’t need to see it again. I also felt like May December was overrated . At least that one wasn’t nominated. Frankly Barbie wasn’t best picture material either. Past Lives was significantly better than Barbie in my opinion (for the record).

My favorite You Tube reviewer/reactor is back with her Oscar prognostications. Definitely agree with you about 'Oppenheimer' being the Best Picture of the Year. But to me 'Zone of Interest' is a very close second.
'Zone of Interest' is such a powerful, chilling movie. Would say it is the best Holocaust related film to come out in recent years along with the Hungarian film from 2015 'Son of Saul.' The contrast between the idyllic Höss home juxtaposed to what lies beyond the garden wall, where gunshots, shouting, and sounds of trains and furnaces are audible is the genuine horror of this movie.
How anyone could witness the atrocities of Auschwitz or any other concentration camp and still be able to carry on with a so-called normal existence remains a mystery. Perhaps it can best be described by Hannah Arendt who called it 'the banality of evil.' Regardless, this movie in my estimation is the single best on-screen representation of this horrible duality.
And unlike the Holocaust movies we have become accustomed to over the years, there is no bloodshed, emaciated bodies, or acts of terror that are shown on camera. And yet it is convincing. The knowledge we have of the acts of torture being committed is enough to frighten and terrify us that we need not see them to get the full effect.

Poor Things was my favorite movie of the year and I didn't even like it that much. Kinda worst cinematic year for me. Hated almost everything. Don't @me. 20 Days in Mariupol was the first war documentary I had to step away from and take a minute to compose myself. I've seen a lot of death and destruction through combat footage and documentaries, but this doc absolutely crushed me. People need to see this one. Also, huge shoutout to The Zone of Interest. Haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since I've seen it.

If Dune 2 had come out in 2023 as planned, what would be your fave movie of 2023? What movie do you think would win best picture had that happened?
Separate note, totally pulling for the holdovers (my fave of '23) for best actor and best picture.

Honestly, I'm SO glad I don't have to watch the "Dune: Part Two" vs "Oppenheimer" race - that would have been way too stressful, and I don't need Nolan and Denis competing against each other for Best Director. Love them both, give them their separate time to shine. I think my fav of the year would have been "Dune" though))

@@tonyg76 part of why i liked both was the sound editing and scores for each. For me, Dune is not about the characters, but the anti messianic message. More relevant today with personality cults than eve. Didnt have an issue with how dark Dark Knight was. Sucks they didnt click for you

I’m Just Ken, like the rest of Barbie, was “meh.” I expected The Boy and the Heron to win until Spider-Verse won all the guilds (Producers, Annies, Directors, Editors, etc.). Spider-Verse only really lost BAFTA and The Golden Globes, the two most international voting bodies. We’ll see.

If "The Boy and the Huron" wins Animated Feature I will be through the roof delighted. As for Best Actress I do prefer Emma Stone. However Gladstone and Huller were extraordinary in their own right. To this day I still think Robert Downey Jr. was good but not outstanding...and the same goes for Emily Blunt.
