This line up was the ultimate VH ! Their live shows were every bit as good as the studio material, Sammy could reproduce and perform to the note live which gave Eddie, Alex and Anthony all they needed without the unpredictable embarrassments and ridiculous ego they had to deal with in the earlier version of the group. They were clearly on a whole different level.

David Gadea yeah he tears it up in this song. He plays this song well on the album but right here he plays it absolutely perfect. The way he structures his part. It’s a straight ahead rock rhythm with a bunch of progressive type fills in between. He plays to suit the song. He will play straight forward when Sammy’s singing and then goes nuts when it’s the instrumental. I like this era of Van Halen and wish it would of kept going a lot longer. During this time Eddie and Alex were being more progressive in their playing. Multiple solos and that outtro at the end with the double bass slowly building as Eddie is playing a riff and also
slowly building up to his solo at the end. You’ll notice Alex is doing the triplet bass drum patterns and then into full double bass drum rhythm right as Eddie also starts his full speed shredding part of the solo. They’re not just mimicking each other parts. It’s more like a hard rock with a twist of jazz thrown in.

Eddie's guitar skills are just out of this world, It's sad that no one will ever create or simply master techniques, riffs and solos as mind-blowing as he did with his own style. One-of-a-kind guitar player, he just inspires so many generations, and right now I am witnessing this in complete disbelief on how articulate his rhythm and accuracy is, he just never misses a note. Whilst his tone is so unique and creative, I can't explain how crazy it is. Truly a master at what he does, I keep playing guitar because of him. Rest in peace Eddie ❤

Eddie,Alex, and Micheal are brilliant musicians...add Sammy on vocals & you have an unstoppable powerhouse rock band!! Balance was their tour de force in my opinion, Aftershock set the bar!! It's a wonder I haven't burned the laser thru this jam on that disc!! I've seen several concerts w/ this line up & have always left blown away by their incendiary intensity!
I even had the privilege to meet & b on stage w/ Sammy & sing a couple lines of "Y cant this b love" during his Cabo Wabo tour @ the Starlake amphitheater in Burgettstown Pa. early 2000's!!! Kick ass show delivered by a premium, quality human being!!
VH is one of the premier bands to ever sweep the planet!!! Rock on boys and bring back Mike & Sammy...

EDIE was a GENIUS .... PERIOD ..... the Guitar music industry will never be the same ... RIP ...
there has been three periods in guitar history ..... ROBERT JOHNSON ...... JIMMY HENDRIX ....... EDDIE VAN HALEN ......
Robert Johnson revolutionized the guitar and "Rock and Roll" and other branches evolved from there ....
Jimmy Hendrix came along and boosted the guitar again giving birth to what we now know as "Classic Rock" and rooted out from him .....
Eddie Van Halen appeared with his guitar , and he was the standard for all Hard Rock , Metal , Punk , Pop , Trash , Grunge , Glam , Death and others ..... there will never be another transformation of music like those times , unless the use of AI's

There are two levels of Van Halen music.....The Roth ere Van Halen which was the Party youthful VH....The Hagar era Van Halen was the more mature and as party hard music as well..... I have seen both young Roth era and Hagar era ....Hands down today if I had to sit and listen it would be the Hagar era. Roth just can't cut it anymore. It seems like i'm watching a Vegas lounge act with Roth today.....IMHO
