I saw the band play a half-dozen times on this tour. You would never know about all the drama behind the scenes, as the performances were just incredible, even when Eddie's hip and Alex's neck issues became more obvious.
I remember VH doing Indianapolis with Alex in the neck brace; Skid Row opened….Yes with Sebastian. VH was awesome!! Yes I know that DLR is always thought of (saw that lineup) but please listen to the intro to 5150 “Good Enough”….you knew they were back!!
@@jerrywoods4066 Not even close. Any of them even has an instrument patent or a Brand? Eddies worst solo outclasses any of their best! My first favorite band was JP. Discovered VH and I never recovered!
Van Halen (Hagar Era) is the only band that sounds BETTER LIVE than the studio albums. Sam and Mikey's voices, Alex pounding out the drums, and of coarse The Goat himself Eddie's guitar pieces are much richer when he's on stage live !!!!!!! Together this was the GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER !!!!!!!!!!!
..My Sound track of my Life.... Since I was younger, Was blessed to see VH, ever since the VH 2 Album an up.. Women and Children first was my first live Concert, and been on board..All the way ,And Sammy Hagar, So Re Glued thus band together.. Love these guys.. An definitely a true fan...🙏...
Great music to crank when you drive early AM to University of South Carolina - Columbia to study Physical Organic Chemistry. The progressive sound keeps you hyped up and awake -- ready to begin a busy day.
One of the most underrated Van Halen albums. A lot of good tunes! To bad it's only remembered as the last album as the Sammy year's. It should be remembered as one of the greats in this bands catalog.
What’s even more amazing was this was multi platinum and sold out tour at a time (1995-96) this genre of music was absolutely DEAD. But Van Halen still trekked on.
@@rikdunham722 There's two kinds of VH fans - fans who loved the band overall for their style of rock and roll, and fans of EVH and his musical genius. I stay firmly in the latter category and recognize the FACT that EVH carried the band and they could've easily done just as well with any other high-energy frontman other than Roth. Sammy's lyrics are way more meaningful as well, Roth's lyrics are an embarrassment as best....
Their manager Ed Leffler died and he was the glue of this band. Eddie had to handle a bunch of business BS because of this and he had a mental breakdown and shaved his hair off. Alex hired his brother in law - Ray Daniel’s to manage and the guy was a fool blown SNAKE. Poisoned Ed’s brain to Sammy that he was ripping him off trying to be the leader etc. Daniels could get a bigger cut with a new singer that was basically a payroll employee. VH3 failed of course So this was the end of the great band on the planet.
Saw this tour stop at Civic stadium Portland Oregon September 1995. Even though the band was struggling internally. It was a superb show that I attended. 🎶 R.I.P. EVH.

I love the Roth stuff I love the Hagar stuff I always approached it like two bands. I could never understand the hatred for Sammy from a small percentage of Van Halen fans. They always seemed like miserable people to me. Losers that felt important by hating Sammy Roth had his solo stuff and I loved that too
@Crosscut Films I was wondering if you might be able to re-upload this in a higher quality like 4K (or even 1080p) by chance? If not, no worries! This is great!
Yes Saw the MGM Grand Las Vegas show. It’s worth every dime. 2-1/2 hours - and they play more Van Halen songs than Van Halen did back when. VH had each player do a solo thing which ate into 40 mins of a 2hr gig Amazing but this set list right now is a Van Halen fans wet dream. The band is phenomenal
Not one that was released. But there are two of this tour. One is of the Pensacola show on MTV (which this clip is from) and there was a Pay Per View Concert in Toronto available out there. Toronto show is better as they were more rehearsed in that one - Pensacola kicked off the tour so very green
We all lament over Eddie but it’s a fact that as early as 1983 the brothers cut Mikey out of any earnings on ANY of those records as far as songwriting goes. He was a glorified roadie. The brothers weren’t good people to him and to lots of others . I miss Ed too, but I cannot forget this fact. Mike is the man .
No. That was retroactive. He was making money for some time, before his songwriting credits were taken away. He's worth $50M now, if Google can be believed, so he didn't do too badly. Eddie died with only $100M, despite being the primary force behind the creation of dozens of hits (56 singles).
who ever recorded this did a fantasic job. i tried to look other vids. of VH and "no comments allowed", lol, why? if you can't take the heat, get out of the kicthen.
This is the first show of the tour Pensacola FL Spring Break MTV Special - they are so good live most can’t tell that Alex is speeding up and down Sammy misses some timing with vocals Eddie kind of noodling outside the song - but again they were so FKN awesome live it’s just Van Halen which was great on ANY night
I wish they had gotten a young singer and done a proper grunge album. This is a phenomenonal soundboard recording. The vocal Melody sounds a bit like Infatuation by Rod Stewart. Not much of a Hagar fan, but this and Poundcake are great.
Only band ive seen more live is pearl jam 29 times with #30 coming in may. Seen van halen 17 times going back to 1981 with mean streets. I have no fav between Hagar and Roth but i do know Sammy is much better singer dave was the best frontman though, not a great singer. 95 was the last year for this line up, obvious with interactions seen here
Van Halen playing to a packed arena in 1995 at the height of the grunge era. I love it. They were timeless!
UNDER RATED ALBUM
Such good and different sounds on it.

yes!💞💟💞💟❣
Iron Maiden has always sounded better live than on the album.
Could not agree any more. One of the best live groups I've ever saw live.
Because Sammy could actually sing, Dave was a showman
@@johnrichjr.415facts I saw them on their Powerslave Tour in St Louis, Missouri

Man this is what a real tight rock and roll band looks like. You definitely don't see this very much anymore.

Yep. Love Ed's guitar tone on this album 😊
One of the best album openers ever
I agree 100%

Snare drum is kicking right!
These guys were spot on this night, if only they stayed together, the hits they could of made...
You're right, if only Roth had stated with them.
When "Humans Being" came out I thought they could go on forever.
For the time they were with each other they did make many hits

Love this song, definitely top 5 Sammy did with VH. His voice is timeless. Powerful song, has it all.
You can sense the tension - Sammy and Ed not interacting, not even looking at each other.
However they were so tight musically speaking.

Van Halen are irreplaceable ♥️ ❤️ 💖
And people say Van Halen became a pop band when Sammy joined.
OU812 is one of the greatest albums ever but Balance is up there with it. The first time I heard this song, the hair stood up on the back of my neck!
Sammy Hagar faz a diferença
This song is killer. I love Ed’s tone
Album version is so good, but this live is biblical

Try staying on time without burning out 😂😂😂
That bass from Mikey is very insisting!
Listen to VH since 1981,what à shocking!!!
