Was anyone else expecting Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”? First time I thought it would be; I was surprised & very, very, very impressed & happy! Stellar performance by all! Watched this close to 100 times over the last couple of years! Ha! Ha ! Ha! Bless your soul !! What a happy, cute, talented woman!!!
It is so incredibly exciting when a singer completely "inhabits" a song -- here is a perfect example: Sarah Jarosz is completely IN this song, and by doing so she is like a conduit for all musicians on stage to go there with her, as they do. This is wonderful.
Amazing! Absolutely amazing! I don't often get goose bumps when I listen to music... but hands down, this song rocks! Bluegrass jams will never be the same again! These musicians are incredible. And, Sarah, thanks for covering this song. Good choice. You are a gem!
Secret Sisters "Mississippi" and Brandi Carlile "Raise Hell" both are my current goosebumps affect. Initial reaction and continued exposure have not diminished my reverence for or involuntary sensory simulation from the power of these moments in time
You're looking at generational, Hall of Fame talent! Simply amazing. One writer offered this: "She might help save country music." Her album "Crosscurrents" is an incredible journey of love hoped for, love gained, loved lost and then moving on and not turning back. The album's lyrics are poetic genius and the musical execution is worthy of the TWO Grammy Awards it received. I'm hooked on this wonderful composer and musician! And, oh so young!
This is a great version of “Crazy”, wow, it’s always good and so is she, multi-talented, and more than ever this is a perfect song for these days 2020, like someone else commented
Came here via NYT article on Federal Reserve of all things. Delighted with find. Shall follow this lot. Band reminded me of the Penguin String Orchestra. Similarly off the wall.
I just love this girl she can sing anything and the talented musicians playing with her were just fantastic doing their own solo's on their individual instruments, the fiddle player was one of the best I've heard always loved that instrument but you don't hear it enough except in bluegrass music, but I'd bet the fiddle player in this performance can play any type of music Congratulations to all for one of the best performance's I've heard of one of my favorite songs.
Sharon Mickey Thanks for the Tip Sharon, I actually, recently discovered Sarah Jarosz several weeks ago, I'll have to check out her 3 albums, but I really enjoy seeing her perform in video's, because I just started learning to record live bands at one of the only Country Bar's in Chicago the Firewater Saloon, its so exciting trying to get the video right and challenging because of the crowded conditions, its very difficult to say the least, but when I get it right its so satisfying, I watch them at home later its like viewing a private concert, I link it up to a flat screen Tv and relax and enjoy, who knows maybe Sarah Jarosz will come to put on a show here in Chicago, and I'll get a chance to record it.
Raymond Perez If you haven't checked her out in 'I"m with Her', it is a great collaboration of Sarah, Sara Watkins and Aoife O'Donovan. So if you like her here, you should love that.
What an excellent version. When I saw the title of the video I thought it was Crazy by Patsy Cline, which I would love to her her sing, but, what a great surprise. She is so amazing.
Listening to this while self-isolating from coronovirus. I had gotten down to finding the best method to polish brass with household products and this song came up on my mix and I was laughing like a mad woman. Its SO appropriate for right now. And I think the strings really do convey a crazy mind.
I excidently bumped into this video. I'm not a fan of bluegrass but i must admit this is a very solid performance! You can see and feel the fun of all musicians! And the groove is irrecistable! Thumbs up!!!
This isn't actually bluegrass, though. Bluegrass is simple folk songs, usually in a major key, 2 or 3 chords, no accidentals, very simple, straight rhythms with little or no syncopation or groove or funkiness, usually played by some combination of guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, and double bass, never ever ever any sort of drums or percussion.
The kids are ALL RIGHT! Fun watching them watch each other. Big thanks to NYTime's Paul Krugman for posting the link to this in his newsletter today talking about presidents tampering with Fed. policy (seems he thinks to do so is "crazy")
Currently one of my favourite songs. A friend recommended it for a listen. I was blown away. Sarah Jarosz oozes talent, charisma and musicianship. The band are all virtuosos. Music live doesn't get better than this gal and this band. Pure magic every time I listen it makes me joyous.
I've never heard this version of the song but it sure sounds good to me she has a wonderful voice and I like that fiddle and the Guitar Solo is great too but Sarah voice is the icing on the cake
Raymond Perez As much as I like Sarah Jarosz, this doesn't quite work for me. Maybe if I hadn't heard the original it would. CeeLo Green's black vocals (inflections and phrasing) just seem to fit the lyrics better. Having said that, this seems to be a good way to end a set or as an encore.
I would love a sheet or transcript of this arrangement. Fiddle player OWNED it!! What he played made the entire arrangement work. Any decent singer could have delivered over that set up by the string trio. No disrespect intended to Sarah Jarosz. She is a great performer!
"CRAZY" performed here by Sarah J., is the best rendition of this, 2nd only to a guy I have known for a few years, from same hometown, actually- his family that is, and we cross paths when possible. He played this song online as he does on Facebook sometimes, like a "Song for the Day", and I absolutely was Crazy myself listening to the words...he plays acoustic guitar only with this, and for the first time the song's words come through in a clear way, and she is the same in this way! I sent him an email w/ this attached. Sarah is MY NEW Favorite lady singer and performer. Saw her last year and was so taken with this young lady!
Couldn't agree more. Such a talented young woman. She also plays banjo and guitar on other recordings. Such a sweet voice into the bargain. My musical life is richer having discovered Sarah Jarosz.

Ha, I was expecting Seal's "Crazy"!
It is so incredibly exciting when a singer completely "inhabits" a song -- here is a perfect example: Sarah Jarosz is completely IN this song, and by doing so she is like a conduit for all musicians on stage to go there with her, as they do. This is wonderful.
This transcends to another level of joy
I never thought I'd hear a bluegrass cover of "Crazy", but it really works! Sarah can truly do wrong.
Do no wrong?
Is it really bluegrass? I totally love modern blends of different styles. That said, is it really bluegrass?
@@stevenhs8821 it's just music
Sarah crushes it with whoever she shares the stage with!
She nails this to the wall and leaves it crying for it’s mommy! Awesome!
Amazing! Absolutely amazing! I don't often get goose bumps when I listen to music... but hands down, this song rocks! Bluegrass jams will never be the same again! These musicians are incredible. And, Sarah, thanks for covering this song. Good choice. You are a gem!

Yes to all the above! A musical prodigy of our time.
Came here by accident.....left impressed. Great twist and completely unexpected.
Sarah Jarosz & whoever she performs with NEVER gets old!!! Check out her cover of When doves Cry
Thank you Lord for Sarah !
+1 !!! She's a gem!
This is a great version of “Crazy”, wow, it’s always good and so is she, multi-talented, and more than ever this is a perfect song for these days 2020, like someone else commented
I had to listen three times. It is fantastic.
Well worth the price of admission I’m sure. Everyone killin it
What an incredible performance, so high-quality at every position. I'm saving this to replay whenever I'm feeling blue.
That cellist is something else.
Mister Pumpkinhead amazing
He's great... you should have mic'd him better...
@@lizcartwright8382 Agreed.
A song you never want to end.
Was in attendance for this. A+

Someone is coming to a planet near you, to steal all of your songs. She is that good.
I know its good when I get goose bumps the first time I listen to it. Keep dat grass blue folks!
There's a CRAZY amount of talent on that stage.
Raymond Perez the 3 albums she has produced at such a young age are incredible....
Sharon Mickey

I still love this.
played this so many times love it , love sara, love the band, my favorite
What an excellent version. When I saw the title of the video I thought it was Crazy by Patsy Cline, which I would love to her her sing, but, what a great surprise. She is so amazing.
And I was hoping it would be “Crazy” by Seal. She should do a medley of all three.
Getting so I listen to this most every day. Best cover of this song ever. Period!
Sarah is bad ass and so is her music
This is seriously rad.
HOLY FREAKING CRAP THIS IS SO GOOD.
this is the coolest band. and i get happy just by looking at that girl:)
Great performance Sarah. Thanks to you and the band.
Wow! Great performance!! Her vocals are perfect for this song !

love this version! especially thoses solos :)
Damn!
The whole lot of them: Crazy Good!
The musicians are outstanding all together it was best version of crazy
This is 'shut the fuck up' good.
Outstanding!
Amazing version!! Also, anyone else think the fiddle player reminds them of Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt) from Parks & Rec at first sight? lol
+walkalittle Alex Hardgreaves.. I've seen him live with Sarah a few times... amazing!! and Nathaniel Smith .. cello.. :)
Phenomenal! Just wish we could hear what looks like a great session on the cello.
Love this video...so fun...so great. I can't wait to see her live with "I'm With Her" in February in OKC
SO much fun!
Why is there no "Live" collection of her cross genre songs ??? Bluegrass versions of pop and hard rock songs are very hot now.
Get on it Sarah !
The whole cover is superb!
was at house of blues fri thank you sarah jarosz
This is a great version - i I too was expecting Patsy Cline, or maybe Seal. Sarah and band were magnifique. Loved it.
Wow! Loved it.
Oh My God that was insane!!
unbelievable talent, all your songs are great and important
That girl is something else!
Sarah is in control and it's krrazy!
AND Mike Calabrese on drums? This is great!
And talk about taste! That drummer can do most anything and he fits in here as well as with Lake Street Dive.
Putting two of my favorite sets of artists together; thanks Mike!
what an awesome performance .... wow wow wow ... like it so much .. simply great
Love this
wow love it
She's the most adorable girl I've seen in my life.
Ben from Parks and Rec rocking it on fiddle!
Once more around, ends too soon, only because of awesomeness going on
Great song. There is another version this song that was recorded in Austin, TX before she blew up that is equally good...
What a brilliant voice! I'm totally baffled! Kudos, Sarah!
Great musicians having fun make great music.
The bass player or cello as it would be!!!! Bouncing the bow! Awesome.
Just amazing!
Pure CLASS!

Phenomenal super group and performance !!

I would love a sheet or transcript of this arrangement. Fiddle player OWNED it!! What he played made the entire arrangement work. Any decent singer could have delivered over that set up by the string trio. No disrespect intended to Sarah Jarosz. She is a great performer!
Robert Sax they made it very easy for her to have a great performance.

It's quite different when a musician covers a song--she actually owns it.
Sarah is a very talented doll.l.
Is that the drummer from Lake Street Dive??
Best stank face on any cello player anywhere, ever!
~sad~ The cello mic isn't up during his segment!
excellent version of this song
SUPAR COOL!
Charlie Day killing it on the drums.
