- Video showing changing over the cartridge oil filter to a spin on type for our 1958 Farmall 350.
We are a small family farm in the western mountains of Virginia. Subscribe for more farming videos - Thanks for watching!!!
That was a very simple installation! I've seen a lot of guys change over to that style for ease of installation and cheaper filters.
I think your doing the right thing, changing out the oil filter from a canister to a screw on filter is what I would do. No sense in making things more difficult just to keep it original. Good one, thanks for sharing, have a nice week.
Thanks for showing this. I’ve thought about swapping my 450 to a spin on filter.
Good day Pete So how expensive are the paper filter or old style?
My 574 spin on is over $20. from Case IH. Thanks
@@donvoll2580 Hi Don! I think original style filters are around twenty bucks or so.
@@farmerpete Then they are about price as spin on. Thanks U know this changing
oil is getting kind if expensive, Thanks
I've been watching you get the Farmall 350 set up to run all your haying equipment. I think you are smart to do that in case diesel happens to become unavailable or unaffordable. With your setup you can now keep your haying business running. Smart move! I enjoy watching your videos so keep them coming!
This was a very cool video. I had heard of these spin on conversions, but had never seen one nor seen one installed. You did a nice job of showing the explaining the installation process. Thank you. Although I am an Oliver guy, I do have a Farmall C and H, and both have the same cartridge filter that you replaced.
Nice conversion, hope it works out. Have a great Sunday.
Nice thing is you should be able to open that drain plug on the bottom of the filter to drain oil out of the filter before you take it off
I wonder if the smaller diameter o-ring is for a reason? The adapter will sit down in the oil filter boss better and less chance of moving around.
Good idea have a good day.
Humble- this is a slick idea! What is the name of the company ?
Bates Corp.
I think I’ve seen that kit for sale at Steiner Tractor also? I’ve considered getting one for my IH 350 utility. I also sometimes have a hard time getting the old style filter housing and O ring to seal properly.
