I remember back in 2002 when those were practiced on weekend nights in storage parking lots. No stunt cage. No Pizza dish sprockets. Just stock bikes and brave idiots lol
Ive been riding for over 20 years even spent a season as a sponsored stunter for a mom and pop bike shop in small town ontario lol I came to a quick realization. Stunting aint my strength. Lol I can 100% do the gimmes, stopping, wheelies burnouts, etc but lol im better on the track for sure. Nice tutorial dude!
I dedicated to stoppies for the first time this week, so I came back to watch this one more time. They're a little odd but strangely addicting. Thanks again for uploading! I just need to keep my eyes forward and develop some more confidence on the front wheel. I plan to mark the road I practice on in order to start tracking progress.
I tried to start learning them when my bike wasn’t caged and came close to going over the front then panicked and leaned to far to one side and dumped my shit 😂 I saved it but shit was scary. Good shit though Brian 👍🏽
Ur number 1 fan here bro lol. I watch all the advertisement videos so u get that 💲💸💵. And fully watch every vid till the last sec. Always support U and dankWheelie👊
I learned how to stoppie before i learned to wheelie but it was on a Honda grom...they are so much fun. I like stoppies more than wheelies imo...not sure how it is on the big bike but i usually throw my weight forward also to pick up the grom easier
love the tutorials man! Super helpful, a little advice when you do these vids, can you show an off the bike perspective as well? could really help to see how high youre getting the rear tire/and see your posture you mentioned
Get a Grom and every stoplight will be a stoppie. I can stoppie my Grom since the day I rode it, while my KTM hasn't lifted its rear tyre more than once for the 1 year I have it.
@@krisswolf2011I thought the same thing I can rool decent stoppies unfortunately they are nothing like real life stopping . For a stoppie you lean forward and hit the breaks hard to lift the rear wheel . To slow down you gradually hit the breaks harder and harder trying not to lock up . I stop much harder and pull my break in a lot more slowing down then on a stoppie but the stoppie I get on the breaks a lot faster and that causes the bike to go up . A good way to lean to stop is to go on a long empty street and practice stopping and a good way to lean to stoppie is go on the same street and practice stoppies . If you use your stoppie technique in real life you can have a very bad day
Man no shit I was out this weekend just riding an practicing some stunts An for real I was thinking brain should do a stoppie how to! Awesome bro that’s what im doing now getting them pop a stoppies down!
Very informative video 🤘🤘. I run a 03/04 636 with 06 636 forks brand new Shinko Verge 2 front and rear with racetech springs rated for my weight front and back that was installed by a AMA flat track racer/tech so the work done was by someone legit. I also have 07 zx10 calipers and rotors. Keep in mind this bike sat for over a year before this problem I'm having. I use to roll good basic stoppies 20-30ft from the top of first, but I had a fork that leaked, fixed that took it to the lot after a year of it setting and my bike has had no front brake power and the front doesn't dive like it use to (did the old zip tie trick and the forks aren't bottoming out). It takes at least 5-6 seconds to stop from the top of 1st and the rear tire never leaves the ground, with brake pulled all the way to the bar. I've since changed pads, fresh motul 660, honed the rotors to remove any fork oil or grime but I have yet to hit the lot since that's been done. Vut now every 3 or 4 days the front master losses pressure (Stock Brembo 16 off an R6) and has to be re-bled at the lever and then it works fine. Could my issues be master cylinder related or preload, compression, rebound related, or maybe low fork oil related? I've only seen one drop of fork oil on the throttle side tube only not anywhere like the floor or bottom of the fork, the OEM seals are maybe a year old with a few lot sesh's on them. I had a dude change my comp and rebound at the lot one day when my stoppies were a mess (keep in mind I had leaking forks and all, and assuming the pads were soaked in fork oil), and its really never been the same since that and the fork seal problem. Or could the rotors be took far gone from the fork oil? Also what compression and rebound are you running on yours? Stock settings? I think I may set the comp/rebound back the factory clicks and see what she does. Also what weight of fork oil would you recommend? Wouldn't mind to hear your input. 🤘🤘🍻
accidenatlly did a rolling stoppie at 60 when a car changed into my lane from a stand still lane (be careful of open lane patterns guys( watch dan dan the firman)) it felt awsome pulling it of by complete accident (after the fear of death went) so im here to learn how i did it because i have no idea of how it happened just everything went slow motion and it felt like i had the wheel in the air for an hour. althougj it was probably only a hand full of seconds.(didnt pop anywhere as high as this though)
Ooof ... I recall that front end washout on my friends SV650. Stay away from freshly paved roads, parking lots, or patches. Contrary to what it seems, that ultra black asphalt sweats oil in the hot sun.
for now i'm just waiting to get my motorcycle license sent to me and for my grom so for the moment i only have the experience when i did wheelies and stoppies on my bicycle over a decade ago and wheelies weren't a big thing for me but stoppies always scared the shit out of me because i felt like you can control a fall much better when you wheelie, with a stoppie there is just a way higher chance to go head first into the ground.
I did a stoppie during a msf course by accident. The teacher was not happy but kinda happy I landed it but dropped the bike after landing. Now I know how I fucked up. A decade later doing the msf course again and I plan on not doing this maneuver again til I atleast get the M on my DL. Probably get a cheap sports bike for practice

I’m a bit shy to just hit brake harder and then release a bit. So to be clear, you have to kind mash it for a quick second to bring it up, then release? I watched you video after attempting myself. Also on a SF Grom, good tires, good fluid, steel braided line, factory master.
I felt it but it didn't really hurt much. Fun part of it that it was supermoto type moped (gilera smt 50cc) and i just got few scratches to middle of rear fender, crack to speedometer and to light mask... And bike stayed up side down and didn't fall to the side even tho i had big circle mirror on left side.
